Chapter 345: Chapter 74 The Tactician Who Goes With The Flow_3

"Things aren’t as bad as everyone thinks; everyone should do their part as usual," Liu Zhenhan waved his hand at the onlooking citizens, nodded his head towards the main leaders of the Emerald Palace, and then continued into the dining hall cave dwelling, followed by Gude taking a few captives into the large dining hall.

"How did the interrogation go?" Liu Zhenhan poured a cup of deer milk for Rovi and asked Gude.

"We haven’t had time to ask yet." Gude’s face reddened slightly.

"These aren’t Dorott’s regular army, not a single military emblem or family crest can be found on them." Vieri strictly observed the knight’s code and did not harm the captives, but anger was clearly visible in his eyes.

"Could they be bandits?" Bellamy muttered.

"Their equipment doesn’t suggest that. This thing here is worth at least two thousand gold coins, even in the human kingdoms," said O’Neal proudly, waving a repeating crossbow cylinder he’d just learned how to use. He thought it was interesting and a nice way to show off.

"Richard, do we need to leave?" Knowing that Liu Zhenhan was about to start the torture, Ning Yu frowned and looked at him. The beauties and Andulan elders prepared to stand up.

"No need, these captives are just small fries. We won’t be able to ask much from them. Let’s order some food and eat first. We’ll have answers soon," said Liu Zhenhan with a twitch of his mouth.

Before they could even finish their snacks, a sudden flurry of hooves and rustling noises approached from afar, like a gust of wind, Guoguo, dragging the unlucky Earl, rushed into the dining hall.

Seeing the food, Guoguo let out a joyful shriek, jumped on the table, and dove into a cake.

The Earl groaned on the ground. While his leather chain armor protected his body, his face was badly scratched by thorns and his knees were skinned. He seemed to have broken a few ribs.

"Let this gentleman stand up, Korina," Liu Zhenhan waved his dinner knife.

Earl Casano immediately stood up, limping. Humans are the most perceptive, especially in situations like this.

Only when face to face with a Beamon warrior could the Earl truly grasp what despair meant. Seeing these majestic figures and their terrifying equipment, Earl Casano felt a cold shiver. Only when he saw the beautiful women, whom he had already seen in the crystal ball, did he gain a bit of courage.

Before Liu Zhenhan could ask, the Earl beat him to it.

"Distinguished Beamon Overlord, I am here to deliver a war letter!" Earl Casano bowed politely. Although he had suffered quite a bit on the way here, his nimble mind quickly provided him with another excuse.

"Cunning... Cunning..." The Vajra Parrot, standing on Liu Zhenhan’s shoulder, pecked at bread crumbs and squawked with an odd tone.

"Enough with this nonsense." Liu Zhenhan, reminded of the dead goblin Deko at the mention of the war letter, immediately interrupted the Earl’s rambling.

Gude pushed his chair back, walked over, grabbed the Earl by the hair, and slapped him repeatedly.

Earl Casano was seeing stars from the blows, his eyes wide open. If he weren’t leaning against the cave dwelling, he would have collapsed by now.

"Gude, stop. Let him continue," said Cui Beixi, standing up and stopping General Pan.

"Barbarians! How can you treat a messenger from the civilized world this way?" Earl Casano’s dignity was gone, but he knew he had to put up a fight.

"They say learned men have the most ruthless hearts. O’Neal, show this gentleman from the civilized world what real barbarity is," said Liu Zhenhan, waving his hand.

O’Neal rubbed his bald head, grinned at the thought, and in collaboration with the militia leaders, dragged the Earl and the captives out of the cave. The cries for mercy filled the air.

"Richard! This is an emergency, now is not the time for games!" Cui Beixi frowned and looked at him.

"How amusing, Rovi. Why don’t you go with my men and take a look?" Liu Zhenhan tore off a piece of bread, walked outside, and threw it to the fire crane.

Turning back, Liu saw his seat taken by the Fairy Dragon. Guoguo chuckled as she handed a piece of bread to the Fairy Dragon. The Fairy Dragon, who had just begun to smile at the bread, immediately stiffened her face when her eyes met Liu Zhenhan’s.

Cui Beixi rolled her eyes at him, left the cave dwelling, and asked around where the militias went. She was told they headed towards the river.

She swam over immediately.

The wind blew along the river, each captive carrying a large stone on their back, while the Sanggan River flowed joyously.

"Splash, splash" - already two had gone under. The remorseless river only splashed a few times before returning to tranquility, leaving behind only a trail of bubbles gradually fading away.

Seeing a well-dressed human frantically arguing, and a Beamon glaring at him, Cui Beixi turned around. She recalled the bloody wolf tails she had seen and realized that even if she were to intervene, the outcome would be the same. The Emerald Palace militia would only listen to one person.

Confirming her thoughts, before she could go too far, the sound of heavy objects splashing into the water was heard again.

Liu Zhenhan casually chatted with the Fairy Dragon, who had started coming over for meals ever since she had tasted delicious soup here. When she found out the delicious soup was made with earth viper, she vomited profusely. Yet, she still came for meals every day, just more particular about the ingredients in the dishes.
