Chapter 344: Chapter 74 The Tactician Who Goes With The Flow_2
"No~~~" Count Casano’s roar was cut short, as the Frost Snow Pichu Beast clad in a bear-skin hat and bra again rode past on a red parrot. This time, the Count was finally sure that he was not hallucinating. The parrot landed on his nightmare horse’s forehead, gently preening its feathers with its hooked beak.
The Count stared blankly at the Frost Snow Pichu Beast, his crossbow held so tightly his knuckles turned blue. Suddenly, a violent wind swept through the sky, and a giant bird landed beside the Count. Though his well-trained warhorse did not startle, the Count himself was indeed taken aback. The bird was taller than the Count, even though he was riding on his warhorse. The bird’s red eyes glowed like blazing torches.
Filling the Count’s heart with an unspeakable fear.
"Do you need me to invite you down?" chuckled Liu Zhenhan, as he watched the cunning human.
The Count’s small eyes darted around as he desperately racked his brain for a strategy. Meanwhile, the Frost Snow Pichu Beast kicked him off his horse like it was punting a pine cone.
"I can offer gold coins. I have money! I can buy my freedom!" Suppressing the immense pain in his chest, the Count staggered to his feet, drew out a money pouch, and produced handfuls of glistening gold coins.
"Just let me go, and all this is yours. No one will know." Count Casano felt a flicker of hope, his voice trembling.
The Count’s words were interrupted by Liu Zhenhan’s actions. Lying on the horse’s back was a long bundle of hemp rope. Liu Zhenhan removed it, revealing freshly cut ends.
Seeing the Beamon studying him with malicious intent, the Count immediately dropped his crossbow, drew his sword and leapt away.
Liu Zhenhan, with a knightly grace, allowed Count Casano to step back into the open area. He subsequently picked up the two giant hooked blades that were tucked under his arms. These weapons, forged from an adamantine alloy, were each one and a half meters long and weighed 150 pounds.
Such a powerful weapon required exquisite skills to use. But after Liu Zhenhan modified it, the powerful weapon adhered to one style — sheer size! Once a weapon reached a certain size, a single swipe was enough.
Count Casano’s sword clashed against the hooked blades and immediately snapped into two halves. Half of it flew high into the sky, and the other half fell out of his hand. Guoguo, sitting on the horse, laughed uproariously.
The Count looked blankly at his own numb hands.
"Hand over your wrists." Liu Zhenhan coiled up the rope and said to the Count.
The Count immediately bolted, only to trip and fall. Unyieldingly, Liu Zhenhan tied up his ankles with the rope.
Liu Zhenhan attached the other end of the rope to the horse’s saddle, turned the horse around, pinched Guoguo’s little face, and then sharply slapped the horse’s hindquarters, leaving a clear handprint.
The nightmare horse let out a mournful neigh and started galloping south. The Count screamed like a slaughtered pig as he was dragged away.
Liu Zhenhan picked up the two crossbows off the ground, carefully collected the gold coins, and hid them in his bosom. The parrot, startled by the horse’s fierce dash, flew up, only to land on Liu Zhenhan’s shoulder again, preening its feathers indifferently.
"Cunning humans." Liu Zhenhan concluded and laughed at his statement.
Am I a human or a Beamon? Liu Zhenhan seemed to ask himself as much as the parrot.
"Cunning... Cunning..." The parrot mimicked with a strange accent. Liu Zhenhan extended a finger and teased it, and it licked his finger. This was the first time it had spoken since Liu Zhenhan cleaned its tongue with vegetable ash.
Obischillaci! It’s a strange world where the first word a parrot learns is ’cunning’. Liu Zhenhan sighed, and the fire crane obediently lied down next to him. He leapt onto it.
The other side enjoyed a glorious victory as well. They had captured five survivors. They had initially intended to capture more but upon their return they realized, the humans they had brought back had froths at their mouths from being squeezed in the rush. On the bright side, they managed to rescue Sharoman Prist, Robert. Bringing cheers to the team.
When Liu Zhenhan returned, Rovi, the gnoll officer, was whipping the human scouts. Rovi’s hands were feeble and he lacked strength, but his eyes were blazing with fury. If these scouts were not Lord Richard’s war assets, Rovi wanted nothing more than feeding them to the wolves of the wilderness.
"Rovi!" Liu Zhenhan gently took the whip from the gnoll officer’s hands.
"Richard, my sentry, forty soldiers! Believe it or not, forty soldiers! All attacked by these so-called diplomatic envoys! They didn’t even spare our wolves’ tails!" Rovi held his face in his hands in despair, tears trickling through his fingers.
"We can’t expect the enemy to show us kindness, my Rovi. Be strong." Liu Zhenhan sighed deeply, waved his hand, and Gude rolled up his sleeves, picked up the whip, and prepared to hit the few captives. When they were originally whipped by Rovi, they were able to scream. But now, they could only open their mouths, unable to produce any sound.
