Chapter 305: Chapter 61 - Defeating Ten with One Force_1
Avril may have been defiant, but the news that the mysterious woman beneath the cloak was a Fairy Dragon caused Liu Zhenhan to sink a pit in his stomach.
The Fairy Dragon is renowned across the Aegean Continent. If the Giant Dragon Clan can only be found in folklore and epic poetry, then the Fairy Dragon unquestionably resides at the end of such tales.
Together with the Seven-Colored Dragon, Fairy Dragons share the bloodline of the Holy Giant Dragons, and are considered the most formidable male and female pair in the Dragon Clan.
The Bimon Kingdom has a beautiful legend telling the tale of a Tauren from the Buer Tribe who was loved by a Fairy Dragon. They secretly married, with the Tauren tilling and planting while the Fairy Dragon harvested and wove fabric. Their blissful life in turn angered the Dragon God, Haibo, who kidnapped the kind Fairy Dragon, turned her scales into stars, and put the Milky Way between her and the Tauren as a barrier. This tale is the origin of ’The Haibo Galaxy’—the most brilliant part of the night sky.
Among all the dragon species, Fairy Dragons are the only ones that closely resemble humans in their physical form. Aside from two dragon horns and a tail that hints at their identity, their celestial looks bear no resemblance to that of the Giant Dragon Clan.
Compared to the world-shattering power of regular dragons, the force that Fairy Dragons possess can only be described as peculiar.
Although they can freely soar through the sky like other dragons, their power is rather pitiful, comparable to that of a regular human woman. When compared to the Seven-Colored Dragon or other Giants, or even alongside a Sub-dragon, there is a substantial difference.
When measured by the standards of the mortal world, Fairy Dragons’ combat capabilities would seem negligible. But dragons are dragons. Who would dare underestimate the noblest bloodline of this clan?
Unique skills like "Instant Teleport" and "Dragon Soaring Technique" allow Fairy Dragons to dodge even the swiftest physical attacks. Plus, their "Elemental Immunity" can withstand attacks from any Elemental Power. Not ’Magic Immunity’, but ’Elemental Immunity’! Meaning, any Elemental Power used by any species cannot harm their seemingly frail bodies.
Moreover, Fairy Dragons possess one more deadly skill called the "Elemental Rebound Finger". Regardless of whether it’s a human mage in Aegean Continent using magic spells or a Bimon ritualist singing battle songs, or even a Demon Clan Lich using Medium Technique or Necromancy, in front of the Fairy Dragon’s "Elemental Rebound Finger", any attempt will trigger an Elemental Power backlash onto the caster himself—the stronger the power, the worse off they’ll be.
A thousand years ago during the great war between the gods and demons, one of the Goblin Great Sage Gabulin’s adventure partners, an elegant Fairy Dragon, participated in the later stages of a battle against the Demon Clan Lich group. Her "Elemental Rebound Finger" skill was regarded with terror by the Demon Clan Lich, and they referred to it as the "Death Finger". From then on, this unique talent of the Fairy Dragon started being known as the "Elemental Power Killer".
Besides, thanks to their Holy Giant Dragon bloodline, Fairy Dragons possess a racial ability that even Giant Dragons envy—the "Dream of Emerald"!
By utilizing the mystical power of the "Dream of Emerald", Fairy Dragons can summon a nearby Giant Dragon or a powerful magical beast through mind-calling and the Dragon Might left by the Holy Giant Dragon. Through the power of the "Dream of Emerald", Fairy Dragons can commune with the minds of the summoned Giant Dragon or a powerful Magical Beast, extracting corresponding Elemental Power from their bodies for their usage.
Even though Fairy Dragons are not Holy Giant Dragons and they can only use "Dream of Emerald" once in their lifetime, no intelligent being would dare provoke a Fairy Dragon.
Fairy Dragons are the most intelligent and inquisitive among the Dragon Clan. Given their long dragon lifespan, learning and research essentially become their main tasks. Getting into a fight with a Fairy Dragon, which possesses an enormous amount of elemental knowledge and can borrow magic power from regular Giant Dragons and magical beasts, and has the power of Elemental Rebound, should not be taken less seriously than getting into a battle with a god. Who has the audacity for that?
Others might not, but Liu Zhenhan does.
Since he’s facing off against a Fairy Dragon, it’s not surprising that Avril was easily defeated, having unfortunately encountered the "Elemental Killer". However, Liu Zhenhan was not the kind of person who could let his woman suffer a loss without seeking compensation. How could he swallow this?
Apparently, the goblins did not know the true identity of the Fairy Dragon. As soon as Guoguo knocked off her cloak, cries of shock rang out from the barrier platform. Some goblins even dropped their weapons and started to worship her.
Everyone else might be scared, but Liu Zhenhan was not.
So far, two dragons have died, either directly or indirectly, at his hands. To Official Liu, dragons have lost their mystique and grandeur. Moreover, Liu Zhenhan has an advantage: no matter who he’s fighting, he never stops thinking and researching beneath his seemingly foolhardy face. He is immune to dismay.
No matter how formidable Fairy Dragons are, they do not possess any offensive magic themselves. Although their bodies can ignore elemental attacks, even the most biased Creator has left the Fairy Dragons with a significant flaw—they simply cannot withstand physical attacks.
The ’Dream of Emerald’ is certainly formidable, but Liu Zhenhan’s Four Great Dragon Orbs and the Golden Figures from Yunqin are not mere ornaments either.
