Chapter 301: Chapter 60 Behind the Scenes_1
The massive blade vehicle weighed at least eight hundred pounds. Along with the down-pressure from falling from the sky, it weighed over two thousand pounds. Just when the goblins thought this heavily armored figure would surely be crushed, Old Liu abandoned the Demon Hunter Spear in his hand, stretched out his hands to hold up this heavy and giant blade vehicle, leaped into the air with a flying knee, and kicked the hard-wood vehicle into a full sweep. The blade vehicle’s base was smashed to pieces by the immense force, split in half, and slid slowly down on the snow-filled mountain path.
The startled expressions on the goblins’ faces remained as the armoured figure began to press forward slowly again.
With each step, the snow would sink deeply under his feet. Beamon, wrapped in armor, exuded a coldness colder than the snow itself.
Liu Zhenhan was also secretly complaining, the longer the dwarf musket did not appear, the more worried he became. He felt that there was a conspiracy brewing; his slow progress was actually intended to further intimidate the enemy.
The goblins truly had high tolerance! Liu Zhenhan could not help but lament in his heart.
A tall cloaked figure suddenly appeared on the platform above the corner tower. As the goblins marveled at Beamon’s strength, their words vanished in an instant, and their faces returned to a cold hardness.
Despite the heavy snow and the clang of the Ice Beads hitting the armor, Liu Zhenhan’s gaze was drawn to this figure the moment he noticed it.
He couldn’t pinpoint why, but he felt a distinct sense of attraction, as if this figure was a magnet that could attract his gaze.
The cloak shielded them from the snow and blocked the figure’s face, only revealing some soft lines around the mouth. The cloak fluttered gently in the wind, a tie dancing in the air.
"Is it a woman?" Liu Zhenhan stopped, staring at the figure. Their gazes met in the air, both sensing each other’s toughness.
If Liu Zhenhan was a burst of molten lava, then the person in the cloak was the unmelting ice of Tamerlarya.
At a distance of fifty yards, the wood grain on the fence in front of him was already clear, just as Liu Zhenhan was considering smashing the door with his bat, the fence gate opened again.
A horizontal Stone Statue was being pushed by a group of sturdy goblin warriors with crowbars, slowly moving to the top of the downhill path.
"Leave here, Beamon!" the cloaked figure spoke in an unusually soft tone. At first listen, it seemed more suited for flirtation with a lover.
"A woman!" Liu Zhenhan immediately recognized the gender of the speaker: "Your Razor Mountain Goblin tribe’s two thousand centaurs have already died under the encirclement of five thousand Emerald Army. Stop your ridiculous and clumsy performances, open the gate, and surrender to this Lord!"
The cloaked figure waved her hand, responding with action. A group of Goblin robbers shouted in unison, pushing the Stone Statue down the hill, picking up speed as it barreled toward Liu Zhenhan.
The mountain road gradually narrowed as it ascended, and the width was now less than twenty blades. The path that the Stone Statue rolled down was slightly slower than the logs, but it was heavier and more terrifying.
Countless spears and arrows, like a blizzard, obscured the view as they flew. Among them were several giant crossbows, so massive that they tore through the air with a high pitched scream.
These giant crossbows had been fired from both sides of the Arrow Tower. The huge crossbows, made with two-finger-thick deer sinew twisted ropes, had always been in an ambush stage, and the twigs covering them had been removed, revealing their true forms. The vibrating hum after the bowstring’s shot was clearly audible.
Although these huge crossbows were primitive and crude in their crafting, lacking in range, the firepower they burst forth made Liu Zhenhan flinch. It turned out that these guys had been biding their time, waiting for a chance to deliver a lethal blow.
A few giant crossbows fired later but arrived first, striking Liu Zhenhan’s copper armor. Like a fork inserted into a ham, they stood vertically there.
Before the goblins’ cheers could rise, Liu Zhenhan, looking like a porcupine, somersaulted in the air, leaping over the rolling Stone Statue, and landed steadily on the ground.
The giant crossbows only penetrated the outermost layer of the armor. There was a vast difference between goblin and human crafting, and the crossbows couldn’t be created with just imagination and crude equipment.
The woman in the cloak calmly issued orders, and objects similar to winter melons were tossed from the corner tower and the Arrow Tower, crashing in front and behind Liu Zhenhan. These large winter melons had shriveled traces on the surface, indicating they had been stored for a while. After crashing to the ground, they burst into a cloud of red juice, shattering into chunks that bounced on the mountain road. The white melon seeds rolled past Liu Zhenhan’s feet and down the mountain.
Liu Zhenhan looked at the melon chunks around him, puzzled, as a refreshing scent drifted into his nose. The faint fragrance, similar to mint and lanolin, caused Guoguo to stick her head out of the helmet’s neck guard. Her large ears swayed as she sniffed at the scent.
