Chapter 268: Chapter 50 A Genius’s Conception_1
"Gold will shine, but only if we pour onto it the sunlight it needs." - Liu Zhenhan said.

The "Barrier Evolution Mishap" eventually found a satisfactory resolution.
The parties involved were utterly flabbergasted, thank goodness that Ning Yu was there, finally providing a sensible solution to the problem.
Gortani, as if awakening from a dream, leaned against the corner of the wall, the wings on her back trembling like autumn leaves, tears flowing down her cheeks in a humiliating way.
"This is only a dream," Ning Yu supported her, comforting her, "Go back to sleep, this is just a nightmare."
Gortani nodded blankly, and so did Liu Zhenhan.
Gortani ran away with her hand covering her mouth, eager to go home and sleep, because this was just a nightmare.
Ning Yu chased after her from behind, fearing any unexpected occurrences.
"I need to get a front door," Liu Zhenhan mumbled to himself.

Even Liu Zhenhan, a man known for his thick skin, walked out with a red face.
From the lowest level cave in the Red Earth Highland, there came a series of dull thuds and appalling wails of flesh being whipped.
The three green demon shamans were already being tortured. Vieri, a direct Knight, O’Neal, the hippo poet, Korina, the mammoth strongman, Gude, the panda warrior, and Bellamy, the guard captain of the Overlord, all in the cave. Each was high-spirited, bare-chested showing muscles, and whispering about how to deal with the three Green Demon shamans.
The cavern was dimly lit with only two oil lamps lit. In the gloom, these fierce-faced men, by their mere presence, were enough to make the Green Demon shamans feel on the verge of collapse.
The appetizer, a bout of the whip, was over, and now the Vajras were discussing what punishment to use next.
The three Green Demon shamans, not bound by anything, shrank back into a corner of the wall in fear, their discussion making them feel like they were in an abyss of ice.
Liu Zhenhan stood at the entrance of the cavern, grinning as he puffed on an unlit cigar, watching how his men performed.
After an intense discussion, it was the cultured Beamon, O’Neal, who convinced his eager colleagues with his supreme torture skills.
O’Neal was cunning, and he was a quick learner.
The wails and cries from the Green Demon shamans echoed throughout the cave, shaking red earth down from the walls.
O’Neal also stumbled and fell to the ground.
He found the wood chips wrapped around the handle of his Wolf Fang Club unwieldy and became a victim of his own idea.
"Idiot! Take off the wood chip, are you asking to get killed? Don’t you know they conduct electricity?" Liu Zhenhan threw away his cigar and quickly went up to help O’Neal.
O’Neal was stunned, with his eyes skewed and saliva dribbling from his mouth.
The four Vajras burst into fits of laughter.
"What are they supposed to do?" Liu Zhenhan asked the four bare-chested Bear Goblin slaves standing nearby.
These Bear Goblin slaves were the healthiest among all, with hairy chests, holding wild snakes in their hands, and grinning maliciously.
"When O’Neal was looking for a whip for torture, he saw the snakes we captured in the bamboo cages and thought they would make a good whip." Korina chuckled.
"He’s evil enough," Liu Zhenhan laughed looking at O’Neal who was still rolling his eyes, "Typical of those so-called literati, poisonous at heart."
"Using snakes as a whip is a good idea, when you lash it, the scales fling off creating a pattern, and it doesn’t break easily." O’Neal finally recovered. He looked at the Green Demon shaman whose hair was frizzed from the shock, spasming wildly on the floor.
"Did they spill anything yet?" Liu Zhenhan jauntily sat down on a chair brought over by the Bear Goblin slaves.
"Business as usual, they spouted what we already know. The Razor Mountain Goblin Bandit Tribe plans to attack us, they’ve formed alliances, but their numbers aren’t as exaggerated as Andulan’s elder had described. Including the White Crow Wildman Tribe and this salt demon – green demon coalition, plus a few wandering mid-sized bandit tribes within a 200 to 300 mile radius and total numbers are around six thousand. As we have already destroyed one of their front units, there are at most five thousand remaining, possibly less. The number of bandits will always be a mystery; no one knows for sure." Gude shrugged.
"We can at most mobilize two hundred of our own, and at most, add two hundred slaves. Looks like these bandits want to use their numbers against us." Korina chuckled.
"The Razor Mountain Goblin Tribe has been raising a few Earth Badgers. That’s their trump card." Liu Zhenhan rolled his eyes. "We didn’t want to deal with bandits anymore, but they are the ones who came looking for trouble."
"These Green Demon shamans are of no use now, should we...?" Bellamy made a beheading gesture.
"No rush, there are a few things I would like to ask them first. Whether they’ll live or die will depend on their fate." Liu Zhenhan used his boot to lift a trembling Green Demon shaman’s head.
Bandit shamans, like other races, always become frail after acquiring elemental power. This one was no exception, skin hugging bones, a common sight among every race.
