Boiling Beast Bloodline -
Chapter 208 - 6_1
Chapter 208: Chapter 6_1
After having their fill, Delsa, the elder, suggested checking out Xiang Pa, who stood before him with a serious face, maintaining the standard posture of a primary school student.
"Xiang Pa is truly magnificent," Delsa said with the look of an enthusiast. He casually sliced down a tree of bowl-sized proportions with his knife-made hand. Before the tree had a chance to topple, he forcefully snapped off a section, expertly whittling the thick tree down to two long toothpicks.
"Snap..."
The faint sound of toothpicks breaking was incredibly loud in the elder’s heart.
"Fancy a toothpick?"
The elder accepted the tiny toothpick with a devout expression.
"Hmm." Delsa contentedly flossed a thread of meat from between his teeth. His four extended fangs were so white they dazzled the elder.
"I should have introduced myself earlier; I am a Snow Elf from Mount Tamerlarya, seeking a new life. I’m the only one left of our clan," Delsa said. His expression was harmless, even a bit mournful. But the elder knew what was hidden beneath it.
"Obischillaci, a Snow Elf. On behalf of the Hobbit Halflings, I welcome your arrival. Sincerely," the elder said, bending over in a bow. His eyes were clear, devoid of any impurities. Delsa watched him and thought, without the deterrence of immense power, such harmony would scarcely be possible.
"I’m just passing through, sworn to find another Mount Tamerlarya."
"You’re leaving?"
The voice wasn’t the elder’s, but rather the small Hobbits’.
The elder’s eyes were fierce like a lion’s, but to Delsa, he only saw an angry cat.
— A lion is the king of all beasts, but a cat’s claws can only cause mild irritation.
"Snow Eagles should always be soaring in icy skies, not frolicking with sparrows," Delsa replied, not revealing his identity to the elder.
Gratitude was apparent in the elder’s eyes as he comforted his tearful daughter.
"You could be the protector of Hobbit Village. We need a strong Snow Elf like you. Hobbits’ food can turn enemies into friends. Don’t you miss the shivering sensation of taste?"
The wind made a "whoo-whoo" sound that wouldn’t stop rustling the leaves.
Delsa remained silent, the atmosphere becoming instantly heavy.
"I don’t love you."
Between possessing super chefs of a village and being hunted every day due to his revealed identity, he chose the latter.
The blunt manner made the small Hobbits turn and run towards the village. Before the elder chased after his daughter, he cast a resentful look towards Delsa.
But, it was finally a perfect ending.
With a slight disappointment, Delsa walked deeper into the forest. He had more important matters to handle.
The initial covenant he made with his pet eagle included a clause: If he ever returned to the Aegean Continent, Delsa was obliged to find a phoenix.
As for what happens after finding the phoenix, even the glowing grass at the bottom of the ocean wouldn’t be able to divulge it.
Most importantly, the parchment described that a lute crafted from the phoenix’s nesting tree is the best in the world.
Besides, there was a group of elves waiting for him to come and bless them.
Also, the place that nurtured the Tree of Life must be home to the Life Spring.
Also...
In sum, as an Elf, the Night Elves’ heir apparent, Delsa, was extremely fascinated. His curiosity was reason enough.
In the words of the Elf Queen, after two elves mate, they can detect each other within a certain distance. The telepathic spell she cast on Delsa was designed to amplify this emotional connection exponentially.
Therefore, during Delsa’s aimless wandering, when he noticed the jubilation in the Elf Queen’s spirit, he knew he was not far from the Tree of Life.
Indubitably, when Delsa, sporting the Ring of Summoning, comforted the agitated eagle, a body came from behind and embraced him.
"Smack."
Wiping off the fragrant saliva from his face, Delsa decided that, dark or not, both Night Elves and Elves were alike. It’s just that the Night Elves were too dark.
"Obischillaci, did you wear perfume made from blush grass?" Delsa’s nose twitched as he raised the question aloud. His jaw dropped. Good lord, the parchment never mentioned Elves using perfume. Can a perfumed elf still be an elf?
Moreover...
It was rather strong.
Elf Queen blushed like a shy partridge, her face as red as the carrots in the Halflings’ farm, whispering softly, "Don’t you like it?"
"A woman strives to look beautiful for the man who admires her."
"I don’t even know your name."
"Avril Apollo IX," replied the disgruntled Elf Queen with a hint of disappointment.
"Avril." Delsa murmured.
"I am but a wandering soul in this world," Delsa sighed internally.
It must be said that a woman’s intuition is often more accurate than a man’s.
After eating a tomato prepared through secret methods and having the pet eagle, Delsa knew that the little hobbits had meddled with the food. Such petty tricks were unworthy of him, the descendant of poison-using ancestors. But... since it merely amounted to installing a tracking device on him, he did not mind. But he hadn’t expected the little hobbits to be so determined.
But, seeing Delsa’s actions, even the ugly duckling had a sense of tact.
Always keeping a clear head was Delsa’s instinct.
Feeling the little hobbits leave in a gloomy mood, Delsa did not remove the plant-like tracking device inside of him.
"Let’s consider it a souvenir from the first time someone fell in love with me on the Aegean continent," he thought. Suddenly, Delsa felt compelled to write a book called "The King of Womanizers" when he was old, knowing it would be a bestseller.
"Come back with me. We can be together, never to part again."
The Elf Queen, regenerating a white chiffon dress identical to the one she wore previously from the plant-life around her, looked at Delsa earnestly.
Delsa shook his head with regret, "If I go, you won’t be the Elf Queen anymore."
The Elf Queen expressed an astonished look.
"Don’t forget, I am an Elf as well." Delsa’s face was bitter, as he metamorphosed from being a prince to a homeless dog. "Our elders have passed down a parchment that states, if the Elf Queen is no longer pure, she no longer reserves the right to be the Elf Queen. Banishment is the only consequence. The ultimate result of banishment causes one’s youth to decline with the extension of the distance from home."
"The constant sight of even the most beautiful things can induce fatigue. This law applies especially to wives and nature. It is only after losing these readily available beauties that one realizes their preciousness." Delsa was deeply empathetic, his expression sincere.
The forest grew silent, or rather, stationary, for the surrounding chirping of birds and insects had stopped. The breathing of growing trees had halted. But as a faint smile surfaced on Delsa’s lips, the surroundings returned to their previous tranquility.
Because, he knew Avril understood.
Because, there were many pearls of dew lingering on the ground.
