Chapter 1527: Chapter 457 An Inauspicious Beginning
"The Heart of the Brave is merely a Z-level adventure team, only registered just over four months ago, Your Majesty." The silver-eyed guard forced a laugh, torn between amusement and disbelief. For such a lowly-ranked team to produce someone so fierce and valiant—it truly turns the world upside down.
"Ridiculous." The Lich King Jiabao froze for a moment before bursting into laughter. "How could I not have such good fortune? An Arcane Master who already possesses Elemental Spirit Summoners, a figure who should only exist in legends, is so young and is a member of an adventure team so low-ranked it can’t get any lower!"
"Me? Possess Elemental Spirit Summoners?" Liu Zhenhuan furrowed his brows, utterly baffled.
Of course, Old Liu knew what Elemental Spirit Summoners meant.
When magic reaches a high level, sometimes during the casting process, Elemental Spirits might be born—tiny humanoid elemental fairies, ethereal and elusive. Those with finely attuned senses could even hear them singing. Back when Florence was engulfed in flames during Otigha’s medium-scale Forbidden Curse "Infernal City Fire," Fire Elemental Spirits had emerged amidst the sea of flames. The manifestation of Elemental Spirits is purely probabilistic, without any clear patterns. Even though Old Liu had once cast a Forbidden Curse, he’d never encountered the presence of these spirits.
As for an Elemental Spirit Summoner, the concept could be easily inferred from the term itself—this refers to the pinnacle of a particular school of magic, when top-tier Elemental Spirits are born in the process!
The Dragon Clan possesses a mysterious Great Summoning Technique, and it’s said that when cultivated to the highest level, it can summon Elemental Spirit Summoners for combat assistance!
Ruona, after retrieving her Dragon Ball, had been arduously practicing the Great Summoning Technique. However, judging by her current progress, summoning even a single Earth Dragon to assist in her lifetime seemed beyond her reach.
From an objective standpoint, an "Elemental Spirit Summoner" is almost equivalent to a Mage’s deity, as mages rely not on divine power but on reorganizing the elemental molecules within nature to form a complete spell!
Of course, since mages are atheists by nature, there’s naturally no ritualistic worship or veneration of Elemental Spirit Summoners. However, according to Ruona, Elemental Spirit Summoners summoned using the Dragon Language Great Summoning Technique are said to possess combat power on par with deities!
This idea seems rather far-fetched!
Can deities even be summoned?
Of course not!
Which also means that Elemental Spirit Summoners, akin to deities in level, cannot be summoned either!
In the Magic World, there’s an old saying: "There’s no end to learning." How could it be so easy to reach the highest tiers?
But then, what did this alluring and stunning Lich King mean when she claimed he possessed Elemental Spirit Summoners? Liu Zhenhuan was truly at a loss.
"It seems you’re unaware that you have two Elemental Spirit Summoners?" Her Majesty Jiabao’s silver bell-like laughter rang out once again.
All the Demon Clan present could also tell—the confusion on this silver-eyed man’s face wasn’t feigned; he truly didn’t know.
"Your Majesty, surely you’re referring to... them?" Old Liu uncertainly pointed at the two Dunhuang Blood Servants floating beside him, following the Lich King’s gaze.
"That’s right! It’s them; these are your two Elemental Spirit Summoners! However, it’s apparent they’re not yet the most powerful kind of Elemental Spirit Summoners. You’ve given them tangible bodies, turning them into your servants, but you haven’t yet awakened their intelligence. In other words, they currently cannot be considered full-fledged lifeforms."
"Damn!" Liu Zhenhuan barely refrained from shouting aloud, but the massive surge of mental power he released was enough to ripple through the entire space, causing the silver flames on his forehead to soar a full five feet high.
Elemental Spirit Summoners! And he’d given them such ridiculous names like Blood Servants!
"It seems you’ve battled with strong foes from the Chaos World?" Her Majesty Jiabao and the Demon Clan had already noticed the serpentine silver flames on the silver-eyed man’s head. This was "Soul Fire," a curse ability that only certain powerful entities from the Chaos World could bestow upon their opponents.
Much like on the Aegean Continent, demons from the Otherworld also enjoyed frequenting the Demon World’s Space-Time Rift zones!
This arcane display alone was enough to send the Demon Clan into wild speculations—in the pitch-black Dark Region, this silver-eyed man ensured an Otherworld demon suffered greatly. And in its final moments, it lashed out with this permanent illumination curse ability!
Judging by appearances, however, that Otherworld demon still didn’t survive the encounter, given that it was the silver-eyed man standing here today.
"I encountered the Poison Flame Demon King Enrida." The name Liu Zhenhuan uttered sent chills through the Demon Clan. This Tyrant-level demon from the Chaos World embodied everything terrifying and formidable.
"For an Arcane Master possessing Elemental Spirit Summoners, dealing with a Chaos World demon like Enrida shouldn’t be much trouble," Her Majesty Jiabao chuckled softly. She gracefully inclined her slender figure toward the towering yet refined Dreadlord below the dais and remarked, "Best, don’t you think we should elevate our Arcane Master’s guild rank to something beyond Warner level?"
"A guild rank adjustment is warranted. The naming rights should go to Master Karu! But before that, I would like to understand and verify which branch of arcane magic Master Karu employs," the Dreadlord stared sharply at Old Liu as if trying to extract answers from his expression. "Why not stick with the traditional arcane arts your Silver-Eyed inheritance offers?"
"My parents passed early, and I didn’t have the opportunity to learn it even if I wanted to! I currently use Neon Arcane, which I gained as a child after accidentally eating a very sweet red fruit," Liu Zhenhuan said, fabricating a tale with wide-eyed sincerity. Neon’s multi-colored quality gave him free rein, and inspiration from knightly novels’ dramatic cliff-jumping arcs only made his story wilder.
A low murmur began rippling throughout the grand hall immediately. The impact of this new arcane branch’s revelation was akin to discovering an entirely new type of magic on the Aegean Continent.
"Don’t be surprised! In the Hundred Thousand Mountains on the Evil Continent, the Dubin people who worship the Sun God Emperor Polo are proficient in Light Arcane. Among their variations, there’s even a form called Rainbow Arcane... or rather—Rainbow Magic," Her Majesty Jiabao’s statement left Old Liu momentarily dumbfounded. "This magic indeed exists!"
Currently, the Aegean Continent is broadly divided into four parts. The Donau Wasteland lies in the west and has long been known to the world. To the north lies Pompeii, Tel Aviv, and other nations, which have been fully explored. The eastern Kareimdo Plains form the central heart of the continent. Yet to the south lie the Hundred Thousand Mountains, shrouded in mystery to the outside world.
The Southern Cross Star Forest and Sunset Swamp are also located in the southern region, vast and fertile but not yet wholly understood. However, compared to the Hundred Thousand Mountains even further south, they pale in comparison. Throughout history, aside from the shadowy impressions of two Dragon Cities, no other records of geography, customs, or cultures can be found in any texts concerning this region.
Both the Hundred Thousand Mountains in the south and the vast expanse of the Taklamago Desert stretching across the northwest of Aegean could be considered forgotten corners of the world.
Liu Zhenhuan found this ironic—knowledge unknown even to the Aegeanians seemed crystal clear to the Demon World’s Lich King!
Rainbow Magic actually exists? Would his made-up tale of Neon Arcane be exposed? As Old Liu pondered, a pang of unease struck his heart.
"Master Karu, may I boldly ask why, in combat, you often rely more on martial techniques than arcane magic? Is this deliberate favoritism?" Dreadlord Best asked, his question putting Liu Zhenhuan on alert.
"With an Arcane Master’s intellect and wisdom, given enough time, we can learn anything, including martial techniques," Liu Zhenhuan tactfully parroted Xiao Bei’s words while taking the opportunity to tease the Dreadlord. "Esteemed Dreadlord Best, personally, I encounter very few battles where I must resort to arcane magic."
"You indeed have the capability to say that," the Dreadlord responded with a subtle, reserved smile.
"It appears that the Heavenly King selection ceremony for the Coast Contribution Continent is no longer necessary. I hereby officially declare Master Karu as the Left Bank Heavenly King of the Coast Contribution Continent!" Her Majesty Jiabao graciously nodded at Old Liu from her throne.
"Your Majesty, your favor is as boundless as the most fertile lands!" Liu Zhenhuan’s face lit up with joy, never expecting he’d pass this test so easily!
After arranging for Master Karu to be led to a tranquil place to rest, the Lich King’s enchanting gaze shifted back to the Dreadlord.
"Out of caution, I believe it is necessary to put him to the test," Best interjected impatiently, presenting his suggestion to the Lich King before she could speak. "Your Majesty, I have my reservations about some of his claims. Moreover, I find it difficult to believe that a civilian expert could possess such power! Most silver-eyes living secluded lives are only wastrels or downtrodden loners. With such strength, why would he hide in seclusion? Just look at his poise—so composed. I’ve never seen a silver-eye like him before! He reminds me of someone. From the descriptions, although they differ in appearance, their combat styles are strikingly similar!"
"You’re thinking exactly the same as me. Yet, it’s also possible we’re overcomplicating a simple matter due to our own paranoia. Could it be residual anxiety from our last ordeal? Let’s hope, George, that this is indeed a boon Nai’aozu has graciously bestowed upon us. The Coast Contribution Continent has been suppressed by Bollywood and Hollywood long enough!" Her Majesty Jiabao’s exquisite features curved into a faint, cold grin.
"Heh, Your Majesty, Bollywood’s Bati hasn’t returned within the stipulated time, and contact via Bone Link Box has failed completely. Their loss is far greater than ours."
Several sneaky laughs of schadenfreude immediately echoed through the hall.
"With your status, saying such things—what if someone overheard you?" Her Majesty Jiabao sternly reprimanded them with a cold snort, her lovely face tightening, "Look at your lack of discipline!!!"
