Chapter 1513: Chapter 451 The Show Begins

The tentacle-like monster in the deep pool, besides whipping around its dozens of giant fang-covered tendrils for physical attacks like a violent storm, also frequently shot out red, star-angular ice spires from its lantern-sized eyes.

The appearance of these star-angular ice spires was so eerie, seemingly solidified purely from fresh blood.

Whenever the blood-red star-angular ice spires swept over the icy surface of the pool like precision gears, the sharp wind could whip up puffs of ice particles, looking every bit like a high-level magic spell in action!

A magical beast with high-level magic and formidable melee capabilities, if placed in the Aegean Continent, would definitely be a high-order magical beast on par with a sub-dragon!

Liu was clueless about how this bunch of demon imbeciles managed to provoke this deep pool creature; any experienced wanderer or adventurer on the Aegean Continent wouldn’t dare play with water so hastily!

In the Sea of Silence, Mourinho even personally taught Guoguo this very lesson!

Once aquatic magical beasts are in the water, their strength is entirely different from on land!

Among these seven adventurers, only the silver-eyed warrior and the cave demon managed to catch old Liu’s discerning eye; the rest were not worth mentioning, especially the male and female Lich, who were simply too green!

With such a trashy group, they also dare to challenge a magical beast comparable to a sub-dragon?

If it weren’t for the cave demon constantly targeting the monster’s eyes with its spear thrusts, and the creature’s movement speed on the icy surface being slightly sluggish, Liu thought this battle would have already been over.

Seeing is believing. This was the only way Liu could describe his feelings.

All along, the scholarly works of the Aegean Continent believed that the Lich Clan was the cradle of arcanists throughout the Demon World!

This fully mage-oriented race, on the Aegean Continent, aside from the fallen Elves and the Golden Dwarves, was feared unmatched in their elemental gifts!

Unfortunately, fallen magic is still fallen magic, whether it’s made more accessible or given fancy names like Necromancy or Medium Technique, it still can’t escape the bottlenecks of fast casting speed and low power!

If it was his own protectorate group, these two Lich would fear they don’t even have the qualifications to sit on the bench!

If it were him on the move, old Liu confidently believed he could turn these demon adventurers into a pile of cold corpses within ten seconds!

The situation of the adventurers was not looking good, gradually nearing their doom.

As the two Lich’s mana started to show signs of exhaustion, their casting rhythm began to slow, two ghoul followers perished, and the solo-fighting silver-eyed swordsman was forced to retreat slowly from the shallow waters towards the shore.

Facing the relentless advancement of the monster’s twenty tentacle-like tendrils, his swordsmanship and footwork were getting messy, the overly cold pool water seemed to sap much of his strength, and water clinging to his leg armor was crystallizing into brittle, shiny ice at a visible rate in the cold wind.

Standing atop the tree canopy, Liu pulled out his triangular bayonet, wiped it on his sleeve, and fixed it onto the threaded end of a copper rod, fashioning a makeshift spear. The chilling blood groove gleamed with a ghostly light, instantly cloaking the land in cold air and lighting up his eager eyes.

What Liu needed to do now was to wait for this silver-eyed swordsman to die a glorious death in battle.

Without this "kin," there would be room for him to intervene in this demon adventurer group, and it avoided the possibility of being exposed!

The massive deep pool monster, seizing the moment, swung its tendrils, clumsily shuffled its enormous body forward on the ice, its massive weight pressing down and causing the ice to crackle loudly, fractures spreading across the surface like a spider web.

It could have been luck, the silver-eyed warrior suddenly stumbled, cutting off two tendrils with his sword but leaving himself wide open, and was then struck hard by a tendril on his chest plate. Just at this critical moment, the overburdened ice finally collapsed, the monstrous creature, along with a thunderous crash, plunged into the water beneath the ice, churning up an enormous wave and chunks of ice ten feet high.

The silver-eyed swordsman’s eyes brightened, and he turned to run, not managing to get very far before a fleshy tendril from the dark pool water quickly shot out, entwining his ankles and, without much effort, hoisting him into the air.

The demons on the shore did something old Liu couldn’t have imagined in his lifetime—they actually took out stacks of polished, exquisite Night Light Shells from their bags and threw them far into the black swirling waters, instead of hurrying to cast magic to rescue their companion.

And the cave demon, with ghostlike speed, quickly dove into the pit at the center of the camp, grabbing a large leather bag with his claws.

The male Lich quickly landed on the ground, opened the bag, pulled out a bunch of bone-carved holders, and in a flustered manner assembled a bizarre-looking contraption resembling an antenna tower. Holding a rectangular bone box the size of his palm, he bellowed out pleas for help for all to hear----since every word spoken came with synchronized thought power, Liu understood exactly what he was saying.
