Chapter 1420: Chapter 407: Lost at Dawn, Regained Under the Mulberry Tree_2
"The Ice Eel thought you were about to feed it, but you actually killed it!" Elder Cech’s eyes were brimming with tears of grief: "You barbaric, bloodthirsty, wicked... "
"Don’t rush to frame me!" Liu Zhenhan immediately interrupted the Flower Elf Elder’s words: "Elder Cech, we didn’t know that the Flower Elves were raising a Giant Beast in the cold pool, and you didn’t notify us beforehand! Seeing a gigantic Eel Loach suddenly lunging at us, anyone would react fiercely! You may not like me, but don’t keep slandering my character over and over!"
"Weird! Did our Ice Eel provoke you? Who was it that threw something in the water that lured the Ice Eel to the surface?" The Flower Elf Elder certainly wouldn’t concede, I constantly arguing his point.
Mourinho hurriedly tried to smooth things over with kind words and pulled the Elder aside.
The other Flower Elves were not so easy to talk to; they flew up into the air and surrounded Liu Zhenhan, chattering all at once in a chorus of scolding.
These Flower Elves had sweet voices, and when they cursed someone, it was like singing. Their words were uniquely artistic, just as they had mockingly called old Liu a savage but likened him to Mount Tai; they were masters at being indirect and sarcastic.
Liu Zhenhan, with a big cigar in his mouth, nodded frequently with a smile on his face, appearing humble and ashamed, but in fact, he was already seething with anger.
If it weren’t for the small size of these Flower Elves, the tallest being no more than one meter fifty, Sir Liu would have long slapped them one by one, sending them flying into the Seia Ocean.
All thoughts of ’buying the horse bones for a thousand gold’ or ’humbling oneself to appreciate the virtuous’—Liu Zhenhan had dismissed them all. Such unruly subordinates with pupils on top of their heads, Liu Zhenhan wouldn’t want them even if they were given to him for free.
The parrot, unusually silent today, after listening for a while, suddenly cursed at the Flower Elves: "Go to hell!"
This vulgar phrase did somewhat match the Flower Elves’ roundabout cursing style. The Flower Elves froze for a moment, and then, furious, they focused all their anger on this annoying parrot, saying it lacked manners, upbringing, and culture—it really showed how its master taught it, perhaps the master was that sort of trash too.
The parrot became even more arrogant: "Right—my boss taught me—never, ever talk with such idiots like you."
"Enough!" The Moon Elf Queen Liv saw this unseemly scene, frowned for a long time, and finally could not help but reprimand loudly.
Once Her Majesty the Queen spoke, the Flower Elves had no choice but to stop their quarrel, each one silently glared at Liu Zhenhan; the parrot didn’t recognize any ghosts or gods and continued cursing, and if Guoguo hadn’t pinched its mouth shut, the Moon Elf Queen might have been cursed at too.
"Great Instructor! It looks like the Sea of Silence isn’t too welcoming of me, so I’ll head home first!" Liu Zhenhan gave Mourinho a nod, ready to turn around and leave. Then thinking of how his axe was still in the water, he had Gerein dive down to retrieve it.
"You’re not that small-minded, are you?" The old swan came over, patted his shoulder, and said: "What’s the matter? You can’t stand a little trouble like this?"
"I’ve dealt with many Elves, and I can responsibly say that the most difficult and arrogant among them are the Flower Elves! Since I’ve come to the Sea of Silence, they have been giving me the cold shoulder. Who do they think they are? War gods? As if seeing them once is a great honor bestowed upon me?" Liu Zhenhan shrugged his shoulders and shook his head with a wry smile: "Great Instructor, don’t talk to me about the Upper Elves having the privilege to be haughty! With their kind of temperament, I find them even more annoying than the fallen Elves!"
"Upper Elves, unless friendless, take friendship as a lifelong commitment," Elder Cech sneered at Liu with disdain: "You crude Beamon would never in your life gain the friendship of Flower Elves."
Liu Zhenhan peeked out from beside Mourinho, looking comically at the Flower Elf Elder. This world is so ridiculous, there are always those full of noise and brimming with redundancy.
"You can’t just simply walk away! You killed our Ice Eel, do you think you can just leave like that?" Elder Cech kept sneering coldly.
"Oh!" Liu Zhenhan was stunned for a moment and then hugged his arms, laughing heartily: "I don’t even have the right to leave? Heh heh, so what do you want to do? My dear Flower Elf Elder, you want to keep me here by force?"
If the Flower Elf spoke one more arrogant word, Liu was ready to flick his cigar at his face and spark a shower of fire.
"The body of the wise Elise has been protected by solid ice, sunken in the depths of this kilometer-deep cold pool..." Elder Cech had a solemn face, pointing his finger towards the center of the pool with the six-sided stone column attached to a chain: "Do you see the chain on the stone column? That’s what was bound to the wise one! The water’s intense chill from the ten-star conjunction was too great, and the chain was frozen brittle—it can’t be pulled! We Flower Elves raised the Ice Eel for a thousand years, hoping that one day it would go to the bottom of the pool, entangle the ice barrier, and lift the wise Elise to the surface! Now that you’ve killed the Ice Eel, how are we supposed to move the body of the wise Elise to shore?"
"Oh! So that’s what this is all about." Liu Zhenhan found it quite interesting; this matter seemed so justified, yet when spoken by the Flower Elves, it became so annoying.
"I’m telling you! The entire race of Flower Elves would rather die than not argue this point with you!" Elder Cech angrily waved his fist while a chorus of agreement sounded behind him.
