Boiling Beast Bloodline
Chapter 1228 - 334: The Buddha Giant of Bore_3

Chapter 1228: Chapter 334: The Buddha Giant of Bore_3

The giants located in the prison cells to his left and right, though seated cross-legged on the ground, nearly filled the six-meter-high iron cages. Only the Shepherd-tree People could rival such enormous statures. The skin of these giants was a waxen yellow, and their prison life had left them visibly emaciated, yet their large eyes still sparkled, radiating a sense of tranquility. Their heads were covered in large bumps, with short, curly hair lying atop, forming big lumps.

Liu was startled into a laugh.

He suddenly recalled the time in Cat Ear Cave, when his brothers’ heads, covered in scabs and resembling bunches of grapes, resembled that of the Desert Giants before him.

The giant in the cage directly across from him looked even stranger, clinging listlessly to the iron bars. Though not as tall as the bump-headed giants, they still stood about five meters, with long, black hair that, due to lack of grooming, had clumped together. Each had three eyes, with the third eye vertically set in the center of their forehead, a spitting image of a robust True Monarch Erlang.

Giants, depending on their proximity to the Titan bloodline, were classified as either Cyclops or two-eyed, and their height usually correlated with the number of eyes. The tribes inhabiting the Southern Cross Forest were Cyclops, standing around three and a half meters tall with tremendous divine power and an aloof demeanor, descendants of a distant Titan lineage; Difeng Giants were two-eyed, reaching over five meters tall and were of a nearer Titan lineage, but... Liu had never heard of three-eyed giants. Judging by their height, these giants were likely not far off from the level of Difeng Giants, which was quite peculiar.

Guoguo was dragging a mouse by its tail, staring dumbfoundedly at the giants along with Liu and the little parrot. The mouse continued to twitch until Guoguo smashed it against the ground, and it lay still.

"Such sin, such sin!" The bump-headed giant muttered again.

"You are..." Liu looked around, slightly unsure how to start.

"We are Buddha Giants," one of the bump-headed giants spoke up.

"We are Mud-footed Giants," someone from the group of three-eyed giants introduced themselves.

"It’s nice to meet you, I am Shaman Richard from the Bimon Kingdom on the Aegean Continent, captured in battle," Liu introduced himself, grateful for the universal language spread by Goblin traders; otherwise, communication would have been difficult.

"Respected Shaman Richard, a mouse is also a life, and harming it without a cause is unjustifiable," preached a Buddha Giant sitting cross-legged nearby. "Violence and bloodshed are too far removed from the original meaning of life..."

"Stop!" Liu quickly waved his hand to cut off the Buddha Giant, his head throbbing from hearing these words that Andulan elders would often preach.

"This world will always have more herbivores, but there are inevitably carnivores as well. If carnivores stopped eating meat and starved themselves, wouldn’t that be even more contrary to the meaning of life?" Liu argued, spluttering: "I apologize, but both my pet and I are carnivores."

"Are you planning to eat it?" The voice of the Buddha Giant sounded incredibly shocked.

"Of course!" Liu snapped his fingers, and Guoguo snickered, tearing open the mouse’s skin, baring tiny fangs ready to bite down, while the little parrot quickly covered its eyes with its wings.

"Su Jia above! Horrifying!" The Buddha Giants all closed their eyes together; their collective gasp of horror was akin to a shrieking storm.

"No way? Su Jia? Do you also follow the teachings of Ascetic Monks?" It was now Liu’s turn to be surprised. "Su Jia" wasn’t a deity but a term from Ascetic Monk teachings, symbolizing a paradise realm. Monks didn’t worship deities; instead, they strived for a state of blissful paradise, discussed at times by both Andulan elders and Mantis Monks.

"You are right," said the Giant Buddha closest to Liu Zhenhan. "The doctrine of the Ascetic Monks was originally disseminated by us, the Giant Buddhas, and then spread throughout the world by devout followers! Please forgive our earlier abruptness, as the doctrine of the Ascetic Monks dictates a principle of not eating meat and not taking life, so we were a bit distressed when we saw you hurting the mouse."

"No, that’s not right! Aegean monks do indeed cherish life, but they do eat meat; they just don’t marry," Liu Zhenhan scratched his head in confusion, wondering how on earth the doctrine of the Ascetic Monks came to be associated with the Giant Buddhas of the Taklamago Desert. What did this have to do with that? How could the doctrine of the monks as described by the elders of Andulan differ so much from what the Giant Buddhas were saying?

"How can this be?" the Giant Buddhas asked in a tumultuous manner, their tone full of surprise and incomprehension.

"The teachings of the Ascetic Monks that we spread only oppose killing! It does not oppose marriage. Continuing life is the most sacred duty! If nobody got married, wouldn’t the world perish?" said the Giant Buddha nearest to Liu Zhenhan loudly, very indignantly.

"God of War above!" Liu Zhenhan said with a bitter smile, "There must have been a mix-up in the transmission of the doctrine! It was misinterpreted! Actually, the Ascetic Monks weren’t completely celibate. Back when they preached across the Aegean Continent, there was something called ’guest-wife’; whenever an Ascetic Monk visited a devout follower’s home, the host would offer his wife to sleep with the monk."

"That’s too wicked!" the Giant Buddha was filled with righteous indignation, and a clamor rose among them.

"It’s alright now! Times have progressed; who still does something so foolish as to offer their wives to monks? Rest assured, that custom is long gone! Not only is that custom gone, but the monks are nearly extinct. Currently, there are only five monks left in the entire Aegean Continent, all within my territory," Liu Zhenhan said with a laugh. "These five monks are all exceedingly kind."

"I had no idea the doctrine of the Ascetic Monks had been so distorted!" said the neighboring Giant Buddha with a deep sigh. "I am Deseli, the chief of the Giant Buddhas. If I have the opportunity, I hope to talk to your monks soon, to help them find their way back to the true path as soon as possible."

"Chief Deseli, there will be an opportunity, I swear by the God of War," Liu Zhenhan chuckled. "Now, in the entire Aegean Continent, only in my territory are there still five surviving monks. If they could receive guidance from you, the Giant Buddhas, and grasp the true doctrine of the Ascetic Monks, it would be the best thing."

"If there is an opportunity, I must not shirk," the Giant Buddha chief unknowingly agreed, foolishly thinking he was helping.

"You wouldn’t deceive me, would you?" Liu Zhenhan chuckled.

"Giant Buddhas never speak falsehoods! We cannot tolerate the doctrine of the Ascetic Monks being so twisted, just as we would never succumb to the coercion of power," Chief Deseli answered emphatically. "That is the unanimous sentiment of all 132 of our Giant Buddhas!"

"That’s reassuring!" Liu Zhenhan nodded to the Giant Buddha chief, smiling broadly. "If I may be so bold to ask, monks on the Aegean Continent are the finest medical experts. Since you Giant Buddhas also practice the doctrine of Ascetic Monks, you must be able to use the ’Prayer Healing Technique’ as well?"

As Liu Zhenhan said this, there was a noticeable trace of covetousness.

From the moment he learned that these Giant Buddhas were the originators of the doctrine of Ascetic Monks, he understood what Rommel’s intent was in imprisoning them. Monks, for a military commander, mainly serve a medical purpose, and the power of the ’Prayer Healing Technique’ was unparalleled by any Beamon Witch Doctor or anyone else; in war, logistics are critical, and timely medical treatment means many more seasoned warriors back on the battlefield, a significantly impactful factor. Heigar’s defeat against the Beamon Army was largely due to inadequate post-battle medical care. Humans had priests and monks, whereas the Beamons only had witch doctors—a lamentable way to lose.

"Respected Shaman Richard, saving lives is the sacred duty of everyone who believes in the doctrine of the Ascetic Monks," said the Chief of the Giant Buddhas. "The ’Prayer Healing Technique’ you mentioned encompasses two main categories, divided into ten types. Which one are you referring to..." The Giant Buddha chief smiled and was about to continue when Liu Zhenhan waved his hand, indicating there was no need for further explanation.

Using the ’Roar of Rage’ skeleton necklace’s ’Shrink Ground’ ability, Liu Zhenhan teleported outside the cage and let out a strange howl at the sky.
