Chapter 1197: Chapter 323: Weird City Defense Method_3

Sudan’s Imperial Guard commander Golemuhamedi, baring his muscular body, strode out from the gate, surrounded by a group of equally fierce Mulan officers.

Hu Ye Ancient City was right in front of them! Victory was right in front of them!

The Imperial Guard commander Golemuhamedi fiercely turned back and glanced at the Mulan warriors of the "Flying Camel Army" who were patrolling. He spat out a thick gob of phlegm in the most degrading manner possible.

These warriors could hardly be considered Mojie of Mulan! Their courage was only suitable for fighting with sheep. They had surrounded the enemy for twelve days but lacked the courage to storm the city!

Just thinking about the beautiful Beamon women in the ancient city, and the jewels on the nobles, the strong and powerful slaves, Golemuhamedi felt a surge of energy. If they couldn’t break through the Beamons who hadn’t eaten or drunk in eleven days, then they couldn’t call themselves the Imperial Guard!

"Commander! How shall we attack Hu Ye Ancient City?" one of his subordinates asked. "The Flying Camel Army supplies the city with magnetic power every five days. If we are to charge, we must do it empty-handed!"

"Empty-handed it is!" The Imperial Guard commander Golemuhamedi scoffed coldly. "Teyimulian! Take your two thousand Reinama, grab the thickest clubs, and lift the cloud ladders built by the Flying Camel Army. Charge at the city wall in one breath!"

"Yakesa!"

"Madiqi! Take five hundred Camel Cavalry, use poles and ropes to break open that city gate! Look at that rotten gate, still adorned with a human-head-and-ant-body statue!"

"Yakesa!"

"Ennayati! Once the gate is open, lead all the Gold Mojie and Silver Mojie and charge in. The rear ranks with a thousand cavalry, armed with clubs—I want you to leave nothing for the Flying Camel Army!"

"Yakesa!"

"The Sultan is with us!"

"Long live the Sultan!" All the Sudan’s Imperial Guards roared with cheers. Apart from the white turbans feathered with bird plumes on their heads, every Mulan warrior shed their steel-riveted camel armor, revealing solid muscles. The officers handed out barrels of Camel Milk Wine to the warriors prepared to charge. Ladders were then dragged out from the engineering camp of the "Flying Camel Army." A few officers who tried to intervene were fiercely punched to the ground by the audacious Sudan’s Imperial Guards.

After regrouping, five hundred Camel Cavalry rapidly whipped their mounts and took the lead, raising a dust cloud as they charged toward Hu Ye Ancient City. Following them were teams of exceptionally robust Reinama Camel people. These desert potentates, in groups of ten, carried fifteen-meter-long enormous cloud ladders, spreading out and charging toward Hu Ye Ancient City. The aggressive reserve team pulled on their camel’s reins, moving neither quickly nor slowly, following behind the assault team.

Inside Hu Ye Ancient City, all was silent.

Five hundred Camel Cavalry reached the city gates and, without waiting to rein in their mounts, agilely dismounted. Some held poles, while others dragged ropes thick as a child’s arm, coiling them around the limbs and joints of the human-head-and-ant-body statue. At first, their plan was to pull the statue open, but as they got close, they realized it was impossible. The height of the human-head-and-ant-body statue already exceeded the city gate, so pulling it down was the only way it could come out.

With no other choice, the Mulan Imperial Guards clenched their teeth and desperately levered the statue. They didn’t need much, just enough to create a breach for cavalry to charge through.

The statue, lying horizontally across the center of the city gate, stood taller than the gate itself, however, its width was slightly inadequate. With about twenty yards of gate, gaps half a man wide appeared on either side. Without any warning, a flurry of deadly Immortal Thorn arrows shot through the gaps, instantly felling a row of Mulan warriors who were focusing on prying the statue. Some arrows struck the vulnerable necks of Mulan warriors, and others pierced the hearts between ribs, their sharp points causing tremendous damage against unprotected flesh.

"Block it up! Block it up!" the lead Imperial Guard officer, cowering in the middle part of the statue, frantically waved at the cavalry in the distance.

Braving the relentless rain of arrows, several cavalrymen drove their camels to plug the gaps at the entrance. The dull thuds of sharp weapons piercing leather sounded like raindrops on a war drum, ’puchi puchi’ ringing out in unison. Several camels in the gap cried out in pain. Seizing the moment, the Mulan warriors grappling with the lever put all their strength into it, sweat beads rolling off their naked backs.

The weight of the statue was beyond their imagination. The twenty-yard-wide gate, filled with people and camels, was extremely cramped. There were people to help, but they couldn’t fill the space at once, causing the leading officer to steam with rage. He couldn’t believe these Beamons still had such resistance! It was baffling how they managed to bring this immensely hefty statue to the gate!

At that moment, the Reinama Tribe’s Camel warriors also set up their cloud ladders. Two of the strongest warriors stabilized the ladder while the rest, like ants moving house, densely populated the ladders.

A full hundred cloud ladders crowded the entire perimeter of Hu Ye Ancient City’s city wall. As the Camel warriors climbed step by step, not a single person appeared on the city wall, and even the listless sentinels that used to wander were gone. This made the Camel warriors even more fearless. They sped up, waving their huge wooden clubs, and rushed to jump onto the city wall.
