Chapter 1153: Chapter 309: The Number One General of the Desert_2
"It’s more than just a bit of skill! As soon as he mentioned it, I suddenly realized that our crown has only been in practice for a year, yet has been through several major battles, each without a single casualty! Heavens above, favor us! What a terrifying and glorious record of victories!" Prince Kahn snorted coldly, turning the bronze lookout device in another direction, "I had a purpose for assigning him there, whether or not there’s anything odd about that ancient city ruins with its strange attractivity. Once the battle kicks off, the Bimon warriors of the God of War Summer Palace Guard will serve as our second reserve troop, storming into the enemy’s fray from the flank. How splendid!"
"As soon as it turns into a melee, these Bimon warriors who don’t know formations can start to flex their muscles," General Pinto, the chief of staff, smiled knowingly.
"Damn!" Prince Kahn’s eyes fiercely lifted from the bronze lookout device, his golden eyebrows tightly knit together, "Why are these Mulanese just gathering without advancing even now?"
"An army with little gentlemanly conduct, I guess they want to drain our soldiers’ stamina, letting us advance another fifteen miles before they push forward!"
"Damn it! Advance the entire army!" Prince Kahn clenched his fists in anger, "Thinking of outwaiting us? I’ll make these Mulanese mothers summon even their nursing strength to fight us to the death!"
Two miles in front of the Mulanese main camp, there was a crack stretching from east to west. This crack, ten yards wide and unfathomably deep, was swallowing countless sand with a "whirring" sound. Due to countless hive-like little sand bags unevenly scattered across the horizon, the Bimon army to the south couldn’t notice this fissure at all. Even to the aerial scouts high above, this crack appeared merely as a fine line; not to mention the Mulanese had erected many poles supporting camel hides, covering most of this fissure in front of their camp.
"The Bimon Army is truly impressive!" A silver elephant sauntered out from the main camp, upon whose lotus throne-like back sat the invincible beauty known across the Taklamago Desert.
This silver elephant was rather delicate, standing just about two meters tall, with six tusks and a head crowned with vine tendrils, draped in chains of jewels and tassels.
"Truly deserving of its reputation as the ’Bimon valiant warriors of Aegean’!" Commander Rommel couldn’t help but praise softly again, moving his bloodshot pupils away from the lens of the lookout device, "Such an army, if it defeated Talitura, Ali Dai Yi, Kati Bi, and the Sha Zhou troops, I wouldn’t be surprised at all!"
"Beautiful commander! What’s so impressive about them?" a giant with a body covered in white frost patches and emitting a strong bitter almond smell said ponderously, "The barbarians’ cavalry has already broken away from their formation, too disordered; such amateur opponents, we Arsenic Giants can crush them into pieces without even blowing dust!"
This giant was indeed terrifyingly tall, standing there, he was much taller than the beautiful commander sitting on the back of the silver elephant.
"You’re wrong, my dear Laud Barrion! Look..." Commander Rommel pointed towards the distant horizon where the Bimon army was aligned in an imposing formation, "The commander of this Bimon legion is quite remarkable! Look how beautifully organized his central force is! And the Wolf Cavalry roams on both sides of the center force, slightly lagging though it seems a bit disjointed, but that’s absolutely intentional! Holding the opponent firmly with the infantry of the center and attacking the opponent’s flanks with a fierce cavalry charge, this is currently the most practical and popular tactic on the Aegean Continent!"
"The beautiful commander’s knowledge is indeed broad." The Undead Mage who had shockingly shot an arrow and split a single garlic clove, flattered the Commander of Mulan with a sycophantic tone.
"Master Zandi, you flatter me! I’m hardly broadly knowledgeable; it’s just that there are many books of the Aegean Continent in ’Kalimantan City’, and I merely happen to browse them now and then. It’s said that the armies of the Bimon Kingdom had no concept of formations in the early years, but now they’re changing too." The beautiful commander’s furry red tail wiggled contentedly, "Look at these robust Bimon warriors! Even from such a distance, their stature is so terrifying! If we were to clash head-on with such opponents, even if the Mulan Storm could achieve victory, being left with even ten percent of our formation would be decent!"
"Beautiful commander! We have twice their number, it can’t be as exaggerated as you say, can it?" murmured a handsome Desert Elf softly.
"Sojai, as a Desert Meinze, how could you also exhibit underestimation? I received a letter just yesterday from His Highness the Caliph, and the Sultan’s Imperial Guard will soon be here to support us!" Commander Rommel chuckled.
"Isn’t the Kingdom of Maerhan fighting anymore? There’s only one city left!" The Desert Elf Sojai sighed regretfully.
"No matter what, His Highness the Caliph is still Emperor Hagan’s biological father. What if ’Kalimantan City’ were to fall? Emperor Hagan certainly couldn’t just watch idly!" The handsome general gazed far into the ancient city ruins, nodding slightly while stroking his chin, "See Hu Ye Ancient City there? Beamon’s aerial scouts had just patrolled it, and yet Beamon has sent another small troop to conduct a field reconnaissance. Heh, this Beamon commander is really exceptionally cautious!"
"All this is still within your calculations, General!" A Desert Elf named Sojai said with a faint smile, his eyes filled with admiration for the commander.
"Hashmian!" General Rommel’s eyes rested on the silence of the Vulture People chief, the Silver Elephant trumpeting restlessly with unease.
Hearing the commander’s call, the distracted Vulture person immediately snapped to attention.
"Hashmian! Only a cowardly camel kneels before the storm! It truly breaks my heart to see you like this, remember! No matter what setbacks you face, I will always be your strongest support!" General Rommel’s stern gaze softened with affection, "The opportunity for you to seek revenge with your own hands is right before you! Help me draw away the barbarians’ aerial cavalry! I have already estimated their numbers; they are roughly double yours! Do you have the courage?"
"I do!" the leader of the Vulture People said, continuously rubbing the gold ring on his ear, his teeth clenched.
"I don’t need you to risk your lives! The enemy has even brought out the Mirror Cannon into the sky, something I never even dreamed of," the handsome general said with unmatched composure, "Remember, I don’t need you to annihilate the enemy, just lure their aerial cavalry away! The Mirror Cannon has a high range; they won’t be afraid of you. Just by tying down these Beamon aerial cavalry, it will mean victory for Mulan!"
The Vulture People chief prostrated on the ground several times, then spread his wings wide and soared into the blue sky, leading a group of Vulture People towards the sparse Beamon aerial squad.
"Madarwikiya! You are Mulan’s strongest Flying Lizard Knight, I need you to be ready to support Hashmian when necessary, but your main mission is to protect the airship!" the handsome general whispered to a Mulan Mojie standing silently as a rock behind him.
The Mulan Mojie clad in golden and gem-studded armor nodded silently.
"Alright! The steam siege catapult begins shooting! Prophet of Desert Mulan, Imam, please board the airship and prepare for takeoff!" Commander Laud Barrion wiped his curled beard, nodding to a bald, bearded old man behind the Silver Elephant.
The purple-robed Mulan Imam master nodded immediately in response.
"My dear mother! I am at last beginning to fulfill my vow!"
A tiny miniature version of the handsome general, looking several times smaller, could still be seen in the crystal-clear gem dangling from a thin metal chain at Rommel’s waist; only now, the tiny handsome general’s face bore a sinister smirk.
