Battle Square.
A corner filled with the rustle of silver Magic Robes, the crowd parts to create a small void, and at the center of this area, a tall and elegant figure sits tranquilly on a black metal high-backed chair.
The high-backed metal chair is adorned with exquisite and splendid patterns, naturally emitting wisps of black mist like smoke.
Enveloped in this mist, the handsome young wizard with blue eyes and white hair seated on the chair exudes a mysterious, noble, and elegant aura, as if it was innate.
Ronan, having inherited a limited quantity of Magic Nightmare Tungsten Steel from Benny, had not enough to craft a grand metal throne like others. Thus, he had to settle for a comfortable high-backed chair instead.
"Nono Pelin..."
Ronan fiddled with a Communication Stone in his hand, but after a moment’s thought, he put it away again.
There was no need to seek confirmation from Benny about such a trivial matter.
He saw the shadows lurking beneath the radiant appearance of the blond wizard named Nono Pelin—a person with ill intentions. Even if he was truly Benny’s friend, Ronan had no desire to interact with him.
His gaze returned to the distant combat taking place in the battle square. The first round of duels was still ongoing.
A day and a half had passed since the start marked by Ronan’s own battle with Travis.
The duel between more than a thousand Official Wizards, even without rest, day and night, would need several days to complete.
The majority of Second-level Wizards, and even Late Level 1 Stage Wizards, didn’t pay much attention to the matches on the field.
For them, especially Second-level Wizards, non-lethal duels between weaker wizards held no nutritional value or significance and were void of any reference value.
Only matches involving characters of the Second Circle, or even the Third Ring, were worthy of their attention. Their focus was primarily on the individuals involved, rather than the battles themselves.
But Ronan was different.
He watched with deep focus and seriousness.
The potency of six doses of Murphy’s Kiss had developed his brain, sweeping away blockages and clutter, freeing up a vast expanse of space.
Ronan’s "wisdom" greatly increased, his thinking sharp to an extent incomprehensible to the average person.
He looked in the direction of the Combat Arena, with countless tiny light points dancing rapidly within his blue irises.
Although he sat in the crowd, his "perspective" in watching the battles was akin to being in a very high place, having the entire Arena "in full view," allowing him to simultaneously observe all the ongoing duels.
He was in an extraordinary state, with countless inspirations constantly arising, clashing, and extinguishing in his mind...
The battle scenes, useful or not, shrank in Ronan’s eyes, turning into tiny light points resembling Free Energy Particles, all merging into his body, solidifying his foundations, nourishing his growth.
Ronan "greedily" absorbed these nutrients, much like the Holy Blood Tree Seed soaking in his blood, constantly undergoing subtle growth.
This was a process of accumulation, an indispensable stage for him to move from one phase to another.
Ronan never had a "mentor"—Benny could be considered half a mentor, at best. He relied on himself throughout his journey and was accustomed to self-reliance.
At his core, he remained a "Wild Grass," best at striving to acquire everything beneficial for its growth, sunlight, soil, moisture...
In fact, watching battles between less powerful wizards wasn’t as dull and uninteresting as one might think.
After watching numerous matches, Ronan found many points he thought were interesting and useful.
For example, he observed a Magic Ring Wizard swallow a Potion that temporarily petrified his skin. When coated with molten metal, his defensive strength momentarily reached a level that even Late Level 1 Stage Wizard Spells could not break through.
There was also a wizard at the Intermediate Level 1 Stage of spiritual cultivation but had an "enlightened" mastery over Magic Tools, showing a unique understanding. The magical interplay between the various Magic Tools he manipulated even made his Late Level 1 Stage opponent concede defeat.
And then there was a wizard adept in controlling "Puppets," all his learned Metal Attribute and Elemental Spells were aimed at bolstering the Puppet’s strength. Throughout the duel, he remained under the Puppet’s protection, wearing down his opponent until they admitted defeat voluntarily...
Every wizard who has stepped through the Mist, ascending to Official Wizard of Level 1, possessed their own wisdom; those with lesser Strength could still carry out combat maneuvers that were "eye-opening."
It seemed to Ronan that there was a deeper significance to these Magical contests held by the Magic Ring; perhaps the aim was for Magic Ring Wizards to absorb others’ "wisdom" to augment their own. Alas, few thought thus far.
The majority of Magic Ring Wizards specialized in Metal Magic, with various styles of combat. Ronan also observed wizards who, like himself, favored a close-combat style.
These individuals almost all had some foundation in Knight skills, their bodies stronger than the average wizard, and some even underwent body enhancement.
However, these Metal Element Wizards favoring the "close-combat route" had generally weaker combat abilities. Ronan only saw one exceptional individual, a young wizard named Orlando.
