Chapter 121: Chapter 81: Frost Leader, Ice Flame Iris_2
Ronan’s eyes flickered, beginning to hesitate and make his choice.
Such a complete First Rank Inheritance was now laid before him.
Although Ice Magic had not been within his considerations previously, it was nevertheless much better than the Plant Series.
During his apprenticeship, Ronan had also learned a Zero Rank, low-level [Ice Ball Skill], which he used as Life Magic throughout his journey, and his Proficiency level swiftly rose to Mastery.
He did not have a strong affinity for Ice Magic, but he was not averse to it either.
Considering the enormous secrets and opportunities this inheritance could hide, if he couldn’t obtain the Metal Magic Inheritance he wanted, between Lola’s Plant Series Inheritance, Ronan would be more inclined to switch to Ice Magic.
"Ice Magic is also one of the mainstream magics for Wizards, the path forward is much clearer compared to the Plant Series..."
Ronan thought, not making a decision immediately but putting everything back into the box.
Before completely giving up hope on the Metal Magic Inheritance from the Magic Ring, he felt it was better not to rush the decision.
Just as Ronan had just put away the box, pondering where to go next to understand the true meanings of "Frost Leader" and "Ice Flame Iris", knocks of "du du du" came from outside the room.
"Ro.. Ronan sir, are you there?"
Alida’s voice sounded at the door, carrying a trace of nervousness unlike her usual self.
Ronan slightly frowned, trying to release his spiritual power to probe, but the next second he was forcibly "pushed" back by a spiritual power at least ten times stronger than his.
A very powerful Wizard was now at the door!
A deep shock flickered through Ronan’s eyes, countless guesses and possibilities flashed through his mind, but soon, his expression calmed down, and he stood up to open the door.
"What’s the matter, Alida."
Alida, like a restrained and meek sheep, timidly shrank at the corner by the door, pointed at the person standing next to her, and whispered: "This gentleman from the Magic Ring...is here to see you."
Magic Ring..
Ronan’s eyes flickered slightly, his gaze naturally falling on the uninvited guest in front of him.
This was a male Wizard of average build.
Black short hair, plain features, his left cheek marked with numerous complex and exquisite silver patterns, whereas a large patch of rough silver scars was visible on his right cheek.
He was dressed in a Silver Robe with a prominent Magic Ring symbol, emitting waves of spiritual power fluctuations and a mysterious and arcane soul aura that gave Ronan a slight suffocation feeling.
He was smiling at Ronan, but the expression presented through his metallic-like cold and hard features was only one of coldness, sophistication, and a patronizing look.
"Late Stage Level 1.. or a Level 2 Wizard?!"
Ronan rapidly made a judgment in his mind, yet his face showed a respectful and polite demeanor.
He bowed to the silver-robed man, saying: "What brings you to visit me, sir?"
"Don’t be nervous... it’s just some routine inquiries and checks."
The silver-robed man spoke with a smile, his voice sounding like two rough metals colliding and scraping, giving an uncomfortable feeling.
The silver-robed man naturally walked past Ronan into the room behind him, looking around like a host before turning to Ronan, "After all, you’ve just arrived at the Magic Ring recently, right? Sir Ronan Damien."
Ronan gave Alida a look, and she, as if granted amnesty, quickly ran away.
He gently closed the door, came in, and nodded: "Yes."
The silver-robed man sat down on the sofa where Ronan usually sat and spoke softly: "I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Basil."
"Basil sir."
Ronan walked to the round table, picked up the teapot, "Would you like some tea? This inn’s blueberry and mint leaf fruit tea is rather good.."
Basil laughed a little, not responding, just looking at Ronan, before saying: "You look very young, like someone who has just been promoted recently.
Would you mind chatting with me about the things before you came to the Magic Ring?"
Ronan’s eyes flickered, putting down the teapot, "I come from Hoddam... sir Basil, have you heard of this place?"
"Hoddam.."
Basil’s face showed a faint surprise, "Is that the small academy that perished under the power of the Crimson Tower?
I’ve heard about that..."
"A poor little place, a Second-level Wizard accidentally got a Nephilim’s Key, thinking good fortune was about to bestow upon him, but didn’t realize that possessing treasures that mismatch one’s own strength only leads to ultimate disaster..."
Basil sighed lightly, his words carrying a superficial sympathy from someone high above.
Ronan didn’t expect Basil to have actually heard of Hoddam Academy, and seemed to know quite well about the current situation there; he couldn’t stop himself from eagerly asking: "Can you elaborate, sir Basil?"
Basil glanced at him, speaking lightly: "There’s not much to say, Hoddam Academy in Wizard Land was obliterated under the power of the Crimson, the founder of the academy died, and Nephilim’s Key was seized by the Crimson Tower.
Other victims of the disaster included a little place called Silent Forest of Black Witch territory, oh right..."
Basil seemed to remember something, and added: "I also heard a rather interesting story about Silent Forest, it’s said that a Level 1 Wizard from Silent Forest single-handedly killed two Level 2 Wizards from the Crimson Tower..."
