Chapter 368: Volume 2: The Dark Alpha {1}
FIVE YEARS LATER
DACE
~
Insatiable...
There is meaning to that particular word, usually depicted as an unquenchable desire, the excessive need and to be starved for something, either something you want or obsessed about. To be insatiable is to want something to the point of no return.
I have been insatiable for years and my violent blood only added to the mix, I thirst for many things... fuck, the need to kill, to subdue and control many things. But right now my insatiableness was centered on a particular thing... The blood of all my enemies.
And like wrath I will take it in any means necessary, there is nothing terrifying than an unsedated hunger, it thickens in your throat and makes it dry to the point you assumed its thirst, but not even water can hold it or ease the constriction, just your worldly desires.
The clock’s ticking and it’s the only sound that filled the small room, as well as the sound of the cloud of smoke leaving my lips as I took drags from my cigarette, allowing the burn to settle deep in my chest, a sensation I welcomed.
"You hear it?" I asked. "The clocks are ticking" I faced the man tied up behind me, the ropes weren’t doing any job, they were just keeping him in place, but the visible bite mark from me was doing all the work I needed... keeping him sedated. Right now even a drunk was even more sane than him.
He groaned, too weak to even raise his head at the sound of my voice. He’s self-aware but the rest of his strength was taken away from him. The helpless reeks off him and it makes me more pleased that I have control.
"As much as I would love to talk more, I’m running out of patience," I said, taking my seat on the iron chair before me. "And I’m not a patient man"
He flinched and groaned once again before raising his bloody face to me, and I saw what I always did... pure fear... igniting in his orbs as he locked gazes with my dark golden ones, he didn’t even last a minute as his trembling gaze sank to my shoes.
They all cower at the sight of my eyes, I remember them being hazels once but now they were nothing but dead gold, showing just how much my beast was on the surface... never hidden and never calmed.
"What? My shoes are a better view" I mocked, I leaned forward resting my elbows on my knees, running my hand through my midnight hair as I finished the last of my cigarette before dropping it and pressing my shoe against it.
I grabbed him by the neck and raised it so that he would face me. He’s still stubborn though, or too afraid to look me in the eye. He trembled on my hold as I blew the remaining cloud of smoke to his face. "You’re shaking... I will take that as a good sign for you to start talking"
"W-What did you do to m-me?" he mumbled trying to break free from the ropes but it was a weak attempt, it must be surprising even for him, it was evident in his eyes. that he was as weak as a simple human.
I tapped the skin next to the bite mark, a chug of flesh missing. "Remember that?"
He flinched.
"One bite is all it takes"
"Y-You"
"Are we finally getting somewhere?" A smile found my lips, but it was quickly wiped off and my feature was fast changing into a glare. "The vampire society is ruled by their Count. I want information"
"Y-You think I-I-I would b-betray my own c-clan?!"
"Oh, you will," I said, letting him go and rising to my feet. "Tell me how well you handle pain?" I began walking to the table with a white cloth over, pulling it off for him to see the torture tools.
"At your current state even a little prick of needle will get you high in pain," I said, grabbing a tool before turning to him. "I’d rather not get my clothes dirty" I added calm like I haven’t just threatened the motherfucker.
The look on his face was one of horror but still, he wasn’t getting to the point I needed.
"I will not ask again..."
The pressure in the air hung and he was getting suffocated under my gaze, my aura wasn’t just intimating, it was like a slow poison if I let it out too much. He might die just by breathing the same air as me. Just as I thought he heaved, trying to catch his breath, sweat breaking from his skin and a choking sound could be heard. Seems like I don’t have to get my hands dirty, my aura was already doing all the work.
"Tell me about Luther Zalatoris.... He’s your Count isn’t he?"
"Y-Y-Yes" he choked.
I walked back to the seat and took it right in front of him.
"Where is he?"
"H-H-He" he coughed.
"I have been trying to get to him for years, he knows how to cover his tracks... Vampires are like birds, they migrate a lot... when I get some info it changes, I need a more concrete location"
He muttered something in Italian under his breath, and I smirked. "No will save you no matter who you pray to, SÌ?"
He gulped.
"Non lo chiederò più..."
(I will not ask again...)
He trembled, shaking like a cat as I held his gaze, feeding him with fear and the suffocating air around us, he dropped his head and whimpered like a pathetic being.
"W-W-Washington... H-H-He’s suppose to be in Washington"
I raised an eyebrow. "Suppose?"
"That is only what I know before I was captured, he is meant to meet his Countess in-" he stopped instantly as his eyes went wide.
I smirked. "Countess? I didn’t know Luther Zalatoris has a Countess"
I heard rumors, but that was all it was, that a female vampire was by his side and it is said she was mysterious, unlike Luther himself there were things I knew about him over the decade, but a female vampire suddenly popped up without the faintest of history.
Strange... even for the vampire society.
"So it’s true then... Luther Zalatoris has a Countess, SÌ?"
He gulped. "I-I-I don’t know w-what you’re talking about"
"Nah... no need to play that card, I can already see right through you"
"I-I have told y-y-you what I know!"
"But you know more" I pinned him down with my gaze and he quivered more. "Now tell me about this Countess..."
