BLOOD LEGACIES -
Chapter 361: You Don’t Have a Choice
Chapter 361: You Don’t Have a Choice
I have never met a vampire before, Vampires were a rare species and they liked to keep to themselves and show themselves if necessary. There was a barrier around the whole of Juneau because of the supernatural creatures living here, mostly witches. Vampires craved magic blood and it was what suited their taste the most.
What is this vampire doing here?
How did he get past the barrier?
How on earth does he know who Emma is?
"Well?" he urged with a raised eyebrow but I didn’t say a word, making sure my weapon was pointed at his neck in case he tried anything funny.
He grabbed my knife by the tip with his black leather gloved hand and shifted it away from his neck not even threatened by it.
"I believe I asked a question, Grayson"
"I’m not obligated to answer any of your fucking questions" but then I paused when it hit me. "H-How do you know my name?"
He tilted his head to the side smirking. "Of course, I know who you’re Grayson" he mused.
Was he toying with me right now?
He darted his eyes to Emma in my arms. "There’s no time to dull follow me" he rose to his feet all of a sudden.
"What makes you think I would listen to you?"
He chuckled facing me with hands hidden in his slacks pocket. "You don’t get a choice, Grayson" he licked his lips.
"I have one..." I clenched my teeth. "Slit your throat"
"As much as I would love to indulge in that fun I will pass, think smart before engaging in anything stupid. So you either follow me and find out how I know you and why or I rather kill you and take her,"
"I won’t let you lay a finger on her!"
But I knew it was just words to me no matter how I tried, maybe he wasn’t the only one who came, or maybe there were others either way I don’t stand a chance.
"Shall I convince you?"
I heard multiple footsteps and I swallowed hard when about five other vampires in black suits came into view.
"Convinced enough?"
~
I was led to three SUVs packed in an area, I subconsciously held Emma tightly when the door was opened for me.
"Where are you taking me?"
"I have an abode just outside the barrier, We can’t do our talking out in the wild" he faces me smirking.
I’m not thinking, I’m not using my head and right now I was gonna step into a vehicle with these strange vampires, but it wasn’t like I had a choice, it was either follow or die.
"Hesitant are we?" he said suddenly, squatting and picking up TJr. who I just realized was following us all along, he meows feeling familiar with that Vampire. TJr. was a repulsive cat, he didn’t let anyone apart from us hold him. "This little cat of yours trusts me, shouldn’t you too?" he darted his black eyes to mine.
"What are you trying to say?" I demand
"It led me to you" he helped TJr into the SUV. "Convinced enough"
"No"
Because it’s crazy, there was no way a cat would have led him to me. But judging by the way he spoke I don’t think he’s lying. It was all messed up in a lot of ways.
"You have questions... Don’t worry you will get them soon enough"
~
I was cautious the entire time, but I didn’t feel any impending threat, I was only led to this car and now we are heading to god knows where. I was given a blanket to cover Emma who remained bloody in my arms. According to this Vampire he said she shouldn’t get too cold, I don’t know what he meant because she was already cold to begin with.
Maybe he didn’t want to get blood in his perfect seat.
"Who are you?"
He huffed scrolling through his phone. "Now you ask?"
"I wasn’t exactly given a choice to begin with"
"Well as long as you behave" he stopped typing. "Luther Zalatoris"
Zalatoris... that surname sounds familiar.
"Your sister has met me once"
I snapped my eyes towards him instantly but he kept his eyes glued to his phone.
"Our first meeting wasn’t pleasant"
"How not pleasant?"
He smirked, darting his eyes to me and nudging his head to Emma. "Notice a mark on her neck?"
I froze. There was a time I noticed something about it, but Emma was uncomfortable talking about it so I let it slide, I assumed it was a birthmark.
"You did that to her?" I said with venom laced in my tone.
"Like I said, not a pleasant meeting... but after that encounter, it was when I knew"
"Knew what?"
"We will get to that soon" he looked over to Emma. "You still haven’t told me who killed her"
I looked out the window watching the light skies, it was already morning.
"It doesn’t matter"
None of it does... the only thing that mattered was Emma and nothing else.
"Hmm... judging from how deep, the fangs of a beast did it"
I flinched.
"And from the smell must be an Alpha’’ he adds before ticking his tongue and shoving his phone in his jacket pocket. "Either I’m too late or right on time" he fixed his sleeves. "Tell me Grayson what do you know about the Zalatoris’’
I didn’t say anything.
"Nothing I see... but you knew we made a deal with Elias Devereaux, the vampire attack on Juneau at the school, how I met your sister"
"I never knew Vampires would stoop so low to collide with werelions, You guys are mortal enemies," I said.
"Yes we are but the deal was very convincing... he knew when to strike when we needed it the most so I’m curious... What did Elias get out of it?"
"Ruining his son’s life"
"Hmm... not much of a gain is there"
"No" I faced him. "He just created something worse"
He looked intrigued now. "And what is that?"
"Your kind greatest threat... a Dark Alpha"
