I know I should stop thinking about it, I know I should let it go, I know I should when Dace told me the new guy was nothing but human and it was just me being paranoid. But my body was betraying me to the point that I couldn’t help my thoughts but drift to him. When he walked into class, his unreadable expression, you can’t tell if happy or sad was just neutral. A guy that was just like me, who wanted to be invisible from the world, like a ghost, simply passing a small crowd without being noticed.

Was there any time I locked gazes with him? I don’t think so, but thinking about it now and relieving what happened today like a recorded memory in the back of my head, I think I did. But just for a split second if I remember correctly, well I DID recall everything, it was like replaying a movie.

When I was at the lunch table before Dace came to me, our eyes met, and the collision, felt so... illogical, it was like staring back at a confusing piece of perplexity waiting for me to set the pieces right and figure out what unfolds under those forest green eyes of his that were similar to mine and then just like a snap of a twig we both looked away, well I did mainly because I felt sick and drink some water to calm myself. But it was hard to shake the feeling off because I was constantly looking back at him when he just minded his business, this was going too far.

"Emma!"

"Hmm?" I snapped my eyes to my aunt seated before me with both a puzzled and worried mix of expressions.

"Where did you mind go? I called you like twice but you didn’t answer"

"Oh" I mouthed facing my dinner, which was some fish meal, it was delicious, Vanessa was a good cook compared to me.

"Are you okay?" a hint of worry in her tone. I don’t want her to know I was engrossed in some new guy at school, she would only call me paranoid, which I am, but I didn’t want to hear it.

"Y-Yeah, Yeah," I said with a nod, pulling and adjusting my glasses.

"Sure? Did school go well? Did you have a fight with Dace?"

I frowned. "No"

"Hmm" she shrugged and I rolled my eyes. She was still waiting for him to slip and I knew it... I knew our relationship was still hard for her to grasp, it would take time and I just silently prayed she would get to see Dace the way I do... a good person and loving.

"So have you heard from your mom?"

"Not yet, her line is still busy"

"I see... work must be taking a toll on her"

"She told me she would be working tight for some few weeks because of the new gigs"

"Ha... what was that superstar name again?"

I shrugged. "I don’t really remember... I think Hayden or something, she’s quite popular in the music industry" I don’t know much about her, but she was a rising star I think or already one. Never heard her songs before, so maybe I would give it a try, it was odd I knew nothing of my mom’s work.

"Wow a teen girl making her millions, young talent is quite something"

I nodded. "I just hope I will hear from her soon"

"We will trust me, sis needs a break and I know when the time comes she will take it" she sipped on her water.

I worried too but there was nothing my mom couldn’t handle, that was her for you, a strong-willed woman who took her future into her hands and mine. I wanna be like her one day, she was my role model.

"Um, Vanessa?" I began

"Hmm?"

I wasn’t supposed to ask but like I said, my body and mind just won’t listen to me, it was really hard keeping myself in check without wanting to figure something out.

"Heard about the new family?"

"Yeah of course"

My eyes widened. "Really?"

"Yes just a family of three or four I don’t know, I think their surname is the Yeager’s"

I nodded.

"And a son attending our school"

"Grayson Yeager" saying his name made me shiver, I don’t know why.

"I see you have met him"

"Not really he’s in the same class as us"

"Sounds interesting and a bit risky"

I blinked. "Why do you say so?"

She sighed before she answered. "I mean Juneau is a supernatural town, we have normal families here there are just a few and the other few know of the supernatural world, having an added family who knows nothing of that will be harmful"

"They might find out," I said with wide eyes.

"Well as long as the law of coexistence is intact, I don’t think so"

I shut my door before stripping from my clothes and walking to my bathroom to have a cold shower, my head felt hot from all the thinking, I was thinking way too much for my own liking, just today I had my head filled with a stranger I don’t know about, it was sort of deja vu just like when I meet Dace.

I turned off the shower, wrapping my body with my towel before sliding my glasses on and walking out of the bathroom.

"Oh my god!" I held my chest when I set my eyes on Dace standing close to my window.

He pointed to the dreamcatcher on the floor. "You know you should put that on"

"I-I forget about it," I said as my cheeks heated.

He smirks. "I scared you?"

"I-I wasn’t expecting..." I sighed heavily trying to calm my jumpy heart. "You should have used the door"

"Well there are dreamcatchers all over the house and it’s almost midnight and your aunt still doesn’t like me yet"

"Right," I mumbled.

I noticed his hazels raking me from up to down and I blushed further rubbing my knees together, his heated eyes on me were making me feel hot.

"L-Lemme put on some clothes" I rushed to my wardrobe grabbing anything I could find before rushing back to the bathroom to dress. Realizing what I grabbed was just a baggy t-Shirt, great, but I shrugged and put it on, drying my hair and stepping out with a cleared throat.

Dace was seated on my bed now, relaxing on the headboard like he owned the place, well in my mind this room was small for him.

"Will you just stand there?"

"Hmm?"

"What are you thinking?"

"N-Nothing," I said in a quiet tone and he shot off the bed while walking to me. It took three steps to close the distance between us as he grabbed my waist and pulled me to his body.

"Something is on your mind"

I shook my head going on my tip toes and wrapping my arms around him.

"Nothing," I said in a murky tone. I didn’t want him to be in a foul mood again. I should stop thinking about that guy and let it hinder my time with Dace.

I dug my hand in his hair and brought his lips to mine, it was soft and slow as our lips rubbed against each other but in a spasm of three it got heated and scalding and I found myself moaning and a groan left him before he pulled away.

"I just stopped by, baby, I’m going for a run with the others"

"Y-You’re not staying?" I sounded sad now.

"You’re tempting me to..." he leaned. "..and your arousal is already making me wild" he whispered and like his words were magic heat slipped in between my legs more.

He kissed me again, a strong powerful suck on my lips before pulling away and backing.

"Dace"

"Make sure you stop that dreamcatcher back on, okay?"

I nodded as I walked towards him but he continued to back and I followed until we were both at the window, I clung to his shirt.

"I can’t keep the others waiting you know"

"They can wait," I mumbled.

He smiled, leaning to me and pulling my shirt down and I closed my eyes when his lips found my mark. I shivered when he gave a kiss to it, causing it to pulse underneath his hot mouth. I wanted him to do more but he pulled away again.

"See you tomorrow, baby"

Like a whoosh of breeze, he was gone when I unfurled my eyes, I sighed putting the dreamcatcher back on and shutting my window, now I can’t wait for tomorrow.

Dace parked at the parking lot before we walked to the entrance of the school where we saw a crowd. Well, that was new...

"Dace" I faced him.

"Somethings not right," he said, focused at the entrance with a cluster of people. We made our way through it to the front but a yellow line stopped us from going further, mumbles from others.

"Owen!" I called when I saw him.

"What’s going on?" I asked.

He looked over Dace briefly before setting his eyes on me.

"The school Janitor who cleans after school hours... they found him dead this morning"
