BLOOD LEGACIES
Chapter 178: First Class

Chapter 178: First Class

"When you hear first class what comes to mind?" he asked me all of a sudden.

I adjusted my seat properly before speaking. "L-Like a top class or something..." I was super nervous because I was given the floor to speak, "...but being here in night school I’m not sure what it means"

He nods, leaning off his table and walking to mine. "Yes exactly, it is top of the class and here in Night school it means something different"

"D-Different"

He nods. "This is a special class for specific purebloods, I’m sure you know about purebloods"

"Not fully fledged witches or warlocks but from the direct descendants of the First..." He nudged his head and I knew it was for me to continue, being here for a few weeks I have been well educated even though it was a short amount of time I knew what to say. "... descendants from the first Founders of magic"

"You know who those First Founders are?"

I leveled my gaze, shaking my head.

"It’s alright, look to your left"

And I did, setting my eyes on the three frame pictures against the wall, they looked old, more like it was painted and not the actual picture. One was a lady and the other two were men, dressed in robelike attire but from which it was painted was majestically detailed, and the colors almost brought them to life. I was fascinated by this art.

"Those three you see there are the first founders, we call them founders because they are the ones who started the Covens and magical ways of the ancestors, the first to connect to Magic after it was lost"

I leveled my gaze to the names on each of them against the frame like a detail, they were called names but what captured my attention were the surnames, with wide eyes I read them out loud.

"Sherman, Keith, Jose?" I faced Professor Colton, still stunned.

"Yes Emma, everyone you see here today here, are the purebloods, you may not have known but here you go"

I gasped as I shifted my gaze to Owen he gave me a smile, and then to Miles and he gave me a smirk, Henry waved at me and then to Sophie who obviously gave me an unpleasant look before waving her blond hair behind and looking away.

I faced Colton back.

"T-Then why am I here?" I never knew three of my friends were purebloods, I only knew them as purebloods before until I found out there was a different meaning to it, here, Purebloods are the descendants of the first. Then why was I here? In the midst of people that were far superior to me.

"That’s a good question, Emma Adams" he began and I have never been more eager before, I was mingling with my hand under the table and my nerves were out like spikes. "You’re here because..." he trailed like he was thinking it through obviously that can’t be right. "...You’re a half-witch"

"B-Because I’m a half-witch?"

"Yes," he nods. "You’re the first of YOUR kind... well one we have come to know of, so it’s only neutral you’re here"

That seemed like a proper explanation, I was finally put at ease by it.

"Here you will be nurtured differently, your body may be weak but with my help, there’s a way to minimize your use of spells and still get the result you need. What I offer here is a lesson above any other than I give to my other classes, you’re privileged to sit amongst the purebloods and learn with them. Orders from the Clan leader"

So he did have a hand in this.

"So... shall we continue?" he clapped his hands. "We have a new student, best be nice, all of you"

"No need we’re buddies" Henry intoned and I blushed.

"I don’t have a problem too," Miles said with a shrug,

"I think we will be fine, Professor Colton, carry on," Owen said, giving me a sweet smile and I blushed because it looked so cute on him.

"Well that’s good to hear"

~

"Why... didn’t... any... If you tell me!" I punched each of them in the stomach.

"Ow!" Henry exclaimed, the only one over dramatic.

"Well you didn’t ask so..." Miles mused.

I huffed facing Owen. "And you?"

"Emma, what are you expecting us to say, we can’t just come at you and told you were purebloods, you have been through enough in the past week"

I sighed. "I guess"

"Well ..." Henry placed his arm around my neck pulling me close to his body. "...it’s good to have her here"

I smiled.

"I don’t get it" a voice came behind and we spun to Sophie seated on her seat with her leg crossed on top of the other. "Why the fuck is she here?" she began in an offensive tone. "Look I get she’s a half-witch but that doesn’t mean she should be HERE in THIS Class" she emphasized her words quite clearly enough to get a sting to my heart.

"Knock it off Sophie... I told you before that she is under the protection of the head family, OUR family, need I remind you?"

She huffed and waved her bouncing blonde hair behind her shoulders, this was definitely not a good time for this but her hair was amazing, it was like a highlight to her tan skin and her dress sense was very similar to that of Emilia, like a diva of her own.

"Whatever, not my fucking problem" she rose to her feet. "Just stay clear of me... lion girl" she added the last part in distaste before leaving the class and slamming the door.

"Don’t let her bother you, Owen’s cousin is such a hot head" Henry said, patting my back.

"She will get used to it, sooner or later she will understand that Emma belongs with us," Owen said in a certain tone.

Miles nodded.

"T-Thanks guys" I mumbled rubbing my arms before shifting my gaze to the three framed pictures.
