Chapter 572: -65- Flirting without restraint

"Lord Charlotte."

Odosia gave Charlotte a slight bow.

It was not especially reverent, but for a giant dragon, it was already quite respectful.

Charlotte nodded slightly in response.

She gestured for Sherry to offer Odosia her favorite drink—iced lemon beverage.

Odosia hesitated for a moment, took the drink, and after taking a sip, said,

"I have been using the Magic-guided Device provided by Lord Nicholas these past few days in Luon City to search for the palace you mentioned."

"Having heard that you also arrived in Luon today, I thought it best to come see you in person."

"As for this disguise... I’ve recently detected the presence of the Blood Demon Sect in the city and didn’t want to be recognized, hence the minor concealment."

Traces of the Blood Demon Sect’s activities?

Charlotte’s interest was piqued.

Did that mean, among the thousands of Bloodline members she had observed, not all belonged to the Nais Clan, but some were also members of the Blood Demon Sect?

With Albrecht, the Dark Apostle, also present, could it be that the Blood Demon Sect was planning some major operation?

After pondering for a moment, she said thoughtfully,

"I’ll take care of the Blood Demon Sect matters. You mentioned that you have been searching for the Ancient Hall in Luon City these days; have you found any clues?"

Odosia hesitated, then said,

"I... am not certain."

"I have been in the Romany Duchy for a month now. Following the possible coordinates provided by Lord Nicholas, I have scoured nearly the entire Duchy, including Luon City, without finding any trace of the Ancient Hall."

"However, two days ago, when I returned to Luon City, the Magic-guided Device suddenly responded."

"Yet, when I attempted to investigate the location in detail, the response vanished."

"But I am certain it was not an illusion, for over the past two days, the Magic-guided Device has reacted several times, albeit briefly each time."

"It’s for this reason, I’ve been investigating in Luon City and ultimately found that this seems to be related to the festival that the people of the Romany Duchy have been preparing these past few days."

Upon hearing this, Charlotte raised an eyebrow slightly,

"The Ancestor Recognition Ceremony?"

Odosia nodded,

"It seems that’s what the humans here call it. An altar has been set up in the city square, and ceremonies are held periodically. I found that the Magic-guided Device responds during these ceremonies."

"I have tracked the response during those periods. The most recent was this morning, and the last location it pinpointed was the Romany Palace."

"However, since it was only once, I am not sure whether this location is accurate."

The Romany Palace?

What a coincidence?

Charlotte was somewhat startled.

After a brief contemplation, she nodded,

"I am aware of the situation now. I will be in Luon City for the next few days; you continue to track the response of the Magic-guided Device, and if you discover anything, call my name to contact me."

The Ancient Hall, though a legacy of the Blood True Ancestor, was often shielded by highly sophisticated Magic Barriers, preventing investigation. Apart from a magic genius like Nisi, whose name had gone down in history, even Charlotte herself, armed with the Blood Holy Scripture, couldn’t sense it and had to rely on the Magic-guided Device made by Nisi.

After hearing what Charlotte said, Odosia bowed and prepared to leave.

"Wait."

Charlotte stopped her.

After thinking for a moment, Charlotte called Sherry over,

"Check on Nisi’s recovery."

Though Nisi had been seasick to the point of retching ever since stepping aboard the ship, honestly, Charlotte harbored doubts.

The guy’s body was crafted from divine material, yet his seasickness was too severe to seem plausible to her.

Whether he was truly seasick was questionable, using the excuse to dodge the voyage to Romany Duchy with Yulster seemed more genuine.

After all, the two shared a history of close acquaintance.

Having had his identity exposed by Yulster, Nisi had already ’died a social death’ once. Yulster, clearly relishing in reopening Nisi’s old wounds, would always seek him out for ridicule upon visits to the Northern Land, making Nisi’s desire to dodge him understandable.

Shortly, Sherry returned with news that brought Charlotte’s speculations closer to the truth:

"Lord Nisi is not in the room, but the servants said they seemed to have seen a Black Cat with a noble’s black eagle collar playing with a few maids at the front desk of the inn."

Charlotte: ...

"Bring it here to me."

With a darkened expression, she instructed Odosia.

In a moment, with his tail tucked and limbs splayed, the Black Cat Nisi was hauled back by Odosia gripping his neck.

Nisi was vivacious, not looking the least bit languid, and Charlotte gave him a smirk:

"Seasick?"

Nisi swallowed hard.

He chuckled nervously, his eyes darting around, ready to make up excuses. But upon seeing Charlotte’s mocking gaze, he choked back his bluster, instead turning those watery amber eyes pitifully towards Charlotte:

"Char... Lord Charlotte..."

Charlotte looked disdainfully at the lisping Nisi:

"Alright, cut the cute act, get up and get to work."

Saying this, she signaled for Odosia to set Nisi down and share her findings with him.

After listening to Odosia’s account, Nisi quickly dropped his charming act and perked up:
