Blood Holy Scripture: True Ancestor Charlotte de Castel -
Chapter 571: -64- Old Acquaintance
Chapter 571: -64- Old Acquaintance
Roman Duchy’s capital, Luon.
As the second-largest city in the northern part of New Moon Peninsula, just after North Port, this ancient capital of the Duchy boasts a prosperity comparable to that of the Castel capital.
In fact, before the Northern Land had developed, this place was once the largest trading center of the Star Moon Strait, dominating the entire strait’s trade.
However, as time passed, the Northern Land continuously developed, the Black Land Mercenary Alliance in Eastern Yonette and the Northern Territory Grand Duchy gradually rose, and the trade routes of the Star Moon Strait gradually shifted northward, eventually replacing Luon’s trading center status with North Port.
But even so, today’s Luon remains one of the major port cities on the New Moon Peninsula, with a population exceeding five hundred thousand.
When Charlotte set foot on the port dock, the first thing that caught her eye was the towering sculpture on the dock.
It was a sculpture of a Half-Elf Warrior.
His face was indistinct, propping up an imposing long sword, standing on the dock and gazing into the distance.
"Lord Castel, this is a historical hero of the Roman people, the Half-Elf Romannus, who led the Romany to successfully settle on the New Moon Peninsula, and he is also the ancestor of the Romany Royal Family. The long sword in his hands is the Divine Artifact, Roman Sword."
Noticing Charlotte’s gaze, Yulster, who was accompanying her, explained.
Charlotte slightly nodded her head.
She noticed that the sculpture was surrounded by various wreaths offered by the citizens, a testament to the immense influence of this Half-Elf hero in the Romany Duchy.
As she curiously surveyed this port city, fully armed guards quickly approached their group.
The knight leading the team glanced at the badge on Yulsters’s chest and then at Charlotte’s attire, as well as the sailboat flying the Castel family flag docked nearby at the Deep Water Pier, quickly recognizing their identities and respectfully saluted:
"Count Castel, Count Yulster, welcome to North Port."
Though Yulster was a home-bound Bloodline, he still possessed basic noble social skills.
He nodded slightly and said,
"Take us to the Romannus Inn, Count Castel has come to Luon to attend the Roman Festival ceremony by invitation."
The knight saluted again and quickly arranged for soldiers to escort them, but to Charlotte, this "escort" also felt like surveillance.
After all, for the Falling Star Kingdom, a lord from the New Moon Kingdom was, in a sense, also a lord from an enemy country.
Inside Luon City, lively festivity was everywhere with lights and decorations.
The recognition ceremony for the Roman Ancestor’s Sword was not an event for which the date could be casually chosen; in fact, it could only take place during the yearly Roman Festival, which was tomorrow.
Charlotte looked curiously at the surrounding streets, treating it as a sightseeing tour.
However, Nisi probably wouldn’t be seeing these anytime soon.
That guy actually got seasick and had vomited countless times during a day-long boat ride; it would likely take a while before he could recover.
Led by the City Guard Team, Charlotte and her group quickly settled into a high-end inn in Luon City, which was situated next to Romannus Square, the venue for tomorrow’s Ancestor Ceremony.
Charlotte observed that the preliminary preparations on the square were almost complete, the viewing stands were already set up, and the altar was also in place, with the soldiers of the Falling Star Kingdom busily arranging the final touches for the venue.
"Lord Castel, the Ancestor Recognition Ceremony officially starts tomorrow. Our people will escort you to the underground chamber below to disrupt the ceremony before it begins. The task you need to undertake is minimal, just intervene in the ceremony as planned."
Count Yulster explained.
Charlotte felt a stir in her heart:
"After I leave my seat, won’t that draw attention?"
Yulster explained:
"Lord Yoroc has already prepared a substitute for you, who will replace you during your absence."
"A substitute? Won’t he be recognized?"
"You can be assured about that, Lord Yoroc is a seasoned Blood Duke, highly skilled in Illusion Magic System, and can even match the elders of the Salem Clan who control the spirit inheritance. Except for the Roman Sword, no one can see through his illusions, and the Roman Sword has always been indifferent to such worldly conflicts. It only cares about its task of strengthening the Roman Bloodline," Yulster said.
Listening to his words, Charlotte nodded slightly.
The Nais Clan had an alliance with the Castel family and clearly feared the ’God’ behind the Castel family, so they wouldn’t trick her in this situation.
Not to mention that Yulster, in a sense, was also her man.
"Also, there is a banquet organized by the Romany Royal Family tonight at the Romany Palace, inviting nobles who have come to attend the ceremony; you are likely included as well."
Yulster thought for a moment and added.
Charlotte felt intrigued:
"Has Edward the Third also come?"
Count Yulster shook his head.
"The King’s injuries are very severe. He is bedridden and cannot come to Romannus. However, he should appear tomorrow at the Ancestor Recognition ceremony via magical projection, to show his support for Prince Henry."
Having finished speaking, Yulster glanced at the time and said,
"Lord Castel, it’s getting late. There are still some tasks within the clan that need to be dealt with for tomorrow’s ceremony, so I shall take my leave now."
"If you need to find me, just look for a servant at the hotel’s reception. This hotel belongs to the Nais Clan, and all the servants are our people."
Charlotte was not surprised upon hearing Yulster’s words.
Indeed, upon entering the hotel, she had sensed the presence of many from the Bloodline.
Though they did their best to conceal their identities, as a "True Ancestor" recognized by the Blood Holy Scripture, she could still discern their scent.
"I understand," Charlotte nodded.
After speaking, Yulster bid his farewell and left.
Charlotte gazed out at the crowded Romannus Square from her window, pondered for a moment, and then sank back into her consciousness.
The Nais Clan attached great importance to tomorrow’s Ancestor Recognition ceremony in Romannus.
She was curious about how many from the Bloodline the Nais Clan had brought this time.
As the light of the Blood Holy Scripture blossomed, Charlotte re-entered the Dark Night Ancient Castle and summoned the Crimson Star Sea.
Countless crimson stars flared, gathering within a five-kilometer radius around Charlotte, more numerous than she had ever seen before.
On inspection, there must be at least thousands.
For this Ancestor Recognition ceremony, the Nais Clan had secretly mobilized a thousand of their Bloodline!
In Charlotte’s perception, these Bloodline members had a distinct distribution, predominantly located in three areas: the hotel she was staying in, the Romannus Palace across the square, and the Holy Royal Court Church in Luon City.
Apparently, as the current core power of the Nais Clan, the Holy Royal Court’s local church branch had been thoroughly infiltrated by the clan.
Among all the Bloodline stars, three were particularly large.
The closest to Charlotte was in the direction of Romannus Palace. Its scent was somewhat familiar to her.
She quickly recognized it as the Legendary Bloodline who she had met in a spiritual world when she was attacked in North Port. It must be Duke Yoroc from the Nais clan.
The second star was a bit farther, in the direction of the church. Its aura was elusive and profound, and its light dimmer, not like a regular Bloodline, but somewhat similar to Sebastian’s kind.
Charlotte guessed it was a Legendary with Bloodline heritage.
However, what surprised Charlotte the most was the third star.
This star was slowly moving through the city, seemingly meandering leisurely.
If the first star only felt familiar to Charlotte, then the aura of this third star... was something she knew far too well.
She had encountered this aura just over a month ago.
It was none other than the Dark Apostle of the Blood Demon Sect, Albrecht, whom Charlotte had cunningly bound into a Blood Servant contract.
"Albrecht? How did he end up in the Romany Duchy?"
Charlotte was curious.
She contemplated spying on him, but then had another thought as she sensed the familiar aura nearing.
Charlotte raised an eyebrow.
After a brief reflection, she ended her investigation, returning to reality.
Before long, there was a knock at the door, and Sherry’s voice came through:
"Lord Charlotte, a servant from the hotel says there’s someone downstairs looking for you, claiming to be an old acquaintance of yours."
Charlotte nodded and replied,
"Bring her up. She’s indeed an old acquaintance."
A few moments later, the door was gently pushed open, and Sherry walked in with a petite figure cloaked in a hooded coat.
Charlotte motioned for Sherry to close the door. Looking at the cloaked petite figure in front of her, she smiled and said,
"Odosia, what brings you to Luon? And what’s with this getup?"
Upon hearing Charlotte’s words, the petite figure lifted her hood, revealing herself to be the Black Dragon Maid, Odosia, who had accepted the task of searching for the Ancient Hall.
