Blind Spot -
Chapter 596: Clue 2 of 546
Chapter 596: Clue 2 of 546
"You’re forcing me!!"
Hisss!!
Another massive wound appeared at the base of Bourdourein’s left wing, causing it to collapse weakly, drained of strength.
Fresh blood gushed out anew, and in pain, it reared its head for an angry roar, biting towards Li Chengyi.
"Call me master." A flash of dark light, and Li Chengyi instantly moved above the opponent, conjuring a Golden Longsword in one hand and casually swinging it down.
No special technique, just a simple slash after condensing the blade with the Sword of Wisdom.
The invisible, terrifying slash wave instantly bridged the distance, landing on its other wing with a speed the dragon couldn’t possibly react to.
Aow!!
Bourdourein let out a pained scream.
"Call me master." Li Chengyi repeated.
"I...!?" The dragon struggled, trying to roll over in defiance.
Yet another huge wound opened on its underbelly, blood cascading like a waterfall, nearly unable to flow.
"Call me master."
Li Chengyi swung his sword again.
A cross-shaped gash added to the injuries on the dragon’s body.
"I...!!"
"Call me master." Li Chengyi instantly closed in, sweeping his sword, and exploded one of the dragon’s eyes, chopping off a portion of its hardest dragon horn.
"I...."
Li Chengyi swung his sword again, preparing to burst the other dragon eye.
"I’ll be damned forever loyal to the master!!"
Woosh.
The slash wave passed instantaneously over Bourdourein, severing a small section of the dragon horn, flying off into the dark beyond.
It barely missed exploding its remaining dragon eye....
Bourdourein, gasping for breath, weak and helpless, raised a dragon’s claw.
"I, Bourdourein! From now on, I am the master’s dog! Whatever you ask, I will do! Woof! Woof woof!"
It lowered its head, closing the only eye it had left, trying to mask the deep resentment within its heart.
Fear, pain, madness, and murderous intent, a mix of emotions, flowed endlessly into Li Chengyi’s mind.
"You’re not bad." Li Chengyi, satisfied, dispersed the Golden Sword in his hand; the dragon’s strength was actually not bad.
At the very least, it could take so many slashes from him.
Its thick hide and incredibly strong vitality were such that any other creature would have fainted from blood loss long ago.
"Come here." He motioned to the other.
This time, Bourdourein didn’t dare to play tricks.
It obediently floated closer, now showing extreme weakness, its strength perhaps a tenth of its normal level, if even that.
Not to mention the opponent before it, a giant dragon in human guise, so quick and powerful that it had no chance to react before it was hit with multiple slashes.
"Tell me, what’s the deal with this Shadow Dragon Prison? How many cells are there, and have you ever sensed the presence of this object?"
Li Chengyi asked several questions in one breath, a Floral Bead appearing in his hand as he questioned the other.
"Each cell is isolated, unable to sense the outside world. The Shadow Dragon Prison... huh... has eighty-one cells. The entrance opens once every three years; it’s a naturally formed special blind spot. It cannot be destroyed; any attack on the cells is turned into the cell’s strength, which then is used to restrict the prisoners."
Bourdourein replied honestly.
"Useless creature." Li Chengyi pocketed the Floral Bead, somewhat disappointed.
Fortunately, the Evil Thought Absorption had filled him, and he had learned the name and type of this blind spot.
Fires of rage ignited in Bourdourein’s heart; even during the wars of the deities, had it ever been so insulted?
But the opponent was too strong, so powerful that it seemed divine, leaving no hope for successful resistance.
"I’m sorry...." It apologized weakly.
"Can you transform into a human shape?" Li Chengyi glanced at it.
"Can...." Bourdourein’s body rapidly shrank, its scales writhing, compressing and retracting, soon surrounded by a green light, transforming into a voluptuous woman with green hair and dragon eyes.
The woman’s appearance was stunning, her vertical pupils shimmered faintly green, and she looked a bit fierce, wearing a green cheongsam-style dress with high slits.
"You’re a female dragon?" Li Chengyi asked, discreetly planting a Consciousness Seed into her mind. Taking advantage of her severe injuries, he could do so without her noticing, something that wouldn’t be possible under normal circumstances.
"No... we Gem Dragons have no gender, but I assumed a form that’s more convenient given you’re male," Bourdourein hastened to explain.
Obviously, it also understood the principle that opposites attract.
"As you wish." Li Chengyi wasn’t bothered with the details, turning away and making a single-handed stroke.
Immediately, a new transparent ripple surfaced out of nowhere in the dark mire space.
This was a new spatial technique he had recently understood and created, which he called Rift Mark, a continuation of the concept of inverse marks.
Rift Mark allowed him to follow the principles of spacetime to subtly leverage space, sending out vibrational waves and locating the weakest spot within the ripples, striking in an instant to reach deeper layers of space.
Conversely, it could be used to open more superficial layers of space.
Both directions at will, it was a very practical special move.
The ripples rapidly expanded, and soon, the center brimmed with a silver light.
Hisss!
The silver light flared, enveloping both man and dragon. It contracted in an instant and returned, disappearing from view.
Next second.
Both returned to the office and gently landed on the floor with a temporary Death Energy Array in place.
"...This place... is the prime material plane...!! I made it out... Really, I’m out!!?" Bourdourein looked at the bright room in front of him, at the golden sunlight streaming in through the window.
The bright beam illuminated the dust and fluff in the air with unusual clarity.
Looking at this scene he hadn’t seen for at least a thousand years, a strong surge of emotion suddenly welled up in Bourdourein’s heart.
He... finally...
"Don’t reveal your identity at will, and don’t disclose my strength. Just say you are my assistant. Understand?" Li Chengyi cautioned.
His Human-Faced Spirit Sword would still have to wait for the seedlings in the flower field to sprout and grow. The situation absolutely couldn’t afford too many variables, or else it would become uncontrollable.
"Yes, Master." Bourdourein quickly bowed respectfully.
"I’ve left something small on you just in case you say the wrong thing, to help remind you. I hope you’re not offended. Is that okay?" Li Chengyi said seriously.
"...Yes." What’s the point of asking after saying that?
Bourdourein replied helplessly.
Li Chengyi nodded in satisfaction. A flash of black light, and he vanished from the office again.
The matter of the Shadow Dragon Prison made him realize that Paine and the others might really be inside, but why were they seeking refuge in there instead of staying in Anze?
Why enter a prison whose level of danger was unknown? What were they trying to hide from? White Wax?
It opened once every three years, he couldn’t wait that long. To search through eighty-one prisons one by one, when would he finish?
Using Good Fortune could be a solution, but he had been saving it for a long time as a trump card for turning the tables, so...
Li Chengyi decided to visit the Hunter Division and look for Minister Liedeman to see if he could find any information.
Click.
After Li Chengyi left, the array dissipated, and the office door was slowly opened.
Keya and Nilan, carrying a mop handle, pushed the door open and saw Bourdourein looking at them first thing.
"You...!!?" Keya immediately gripped the dagger at her waist, her eyes turning fierce, like a small cat ready to pounce at any moment.
Nilan, on the other hand, widened her eyes, her mind instantly filled with numerous lascivious and ambiguous conjectures.
"Hello." Bourdourein quickly recovered, a pleasing smile appearing on her face.
"You are the Master’s dogs too, right? My name is Budouna, please look after me, let’s serve the Master well together in the future."
She stepped forward, bowing deeply to the two young girls, revealing a deep cleavage.
"Dogs!!??" Nilan’s pretty face immediately puffed up with anger, her face turning red with blood in a matter of seconds.
"You’re the dog!! Your whole family are dogs!!!" She flung the mop away with a violent gesture and ran off, yelling.
Keya remained where she was, her face also flushing. After all, she came from a place of pleasure and had seen her share of players, but she’d never seen anyone play the game quite like this...
"So the boss likes this kind of thing..." She wore a face that said she had learned something new.
Looking at the other’s chest, thighs, waist, and that gorgeous, gem-like perfect face!
Too dazzling...!!
She was like a living gem!
"Hello, hello, may I ask what this ’dog’ is all about..." Before Keya could finish speaking, she saw Li Chengyi emerging from behind Budouna, grabbing the woman by her long hair, flinging her into the room, and then pushing himself out the door.
"We’ll talk later!"
Leaving behind those words, the office door was closed.
Keya stood at the door, her heart thumping.
Curious, she moved forward and pressed her ear to the door, trying to eavesdrop, but regrettably, the voices inside were too faint to distinguish.
Inside the office.
Li Chengyi examined Budouna, whose injuries had mostly healed in such a short time. She was quickly recovering from all her wounds, this dragon clearly had strong abilities and a robust physique, but like everyone else in this place, she was too slow.
"In your interactions with others, introduce yourself as the assistant."
"Yes." Budouna nodded obediently.
If not for the occasional surge of resentment he could sense from her, Li Chengyi might have really believed she had submitted.
But that was fine, as having her by his side meant having a live Evil Thought Absorption engine ready whenever he needed charging.
No need for him to go searching for Evil Thoughts to absorb.
"I understand." Budouna quickly nodded.
"Don’t play dumb with me, if something like before happens again..." Li Chengyi suddenly gripped her throat fiercely.
A strong intent to kill instantly enveloped every part of Budouna’s body.
Crack.
Her throat was brutally gouged, creating five bloody holes, and the intense pain contorted her face.
"Remember." Li Chengyi withdrew his hand, glanced coldly at her, and disappeared on the spot.
As Budouna watched this unfold, the anger, humiliation, pain, and suffocation in her heart found no outlet for release.
Once her injuries were healed, she could only open the door and rush out of the office, sprinting out of the firm and vanishing at the end of the street in a few strides.
Elsewhere, Li Chengyi walked confidently into Minister Liedeman’s study.
"Liedeman, I have a question or two to ask you, do you have the time?" Li Chengyi was on familiar terms with him by now. Many of the firm’s matters had been eased thanks to Liedeman’s various behind-the-scenes assistance.
"Chengyi, it’s been a while since you’ve come by." Liedeman said with a cheerful smile.
"I’ve been studying history at home and came across a peculiar name, Shadow Dragon Prison, so I came to ask you about it; do you know anything?" Li Chengyi said with a smile.
He needed to know how to shorten the period to get into the prison Paine and the others had entered as quickly as possible.
"That is indeed rare." Liedeman nodded, "It was a special space discovered by the Dark Religion over two thousand years ago when they were active in Anze. It held a number of terribly evil criminals. The least of their crimes involved being mass murderers who had slaughtered over a thousand people."
