Chapter 508 - 465 Air Combat Three
Chapter 508: 465 Air Combat Three
The entire battle zone corresponding to White Star was completely pierced by a straight line, with tens of thousands of warships within a small range being split in half by it, with at least thirty warships destroyed in the middle.
If it weren’t for the fact that everyone in space was extremely far apart from each other, this single blow might have thrown the entire battle formation into disarray.
"That guy... what’s going on!? A suicidal acceleration?"
The six Divine Star Generals exchanged information rapidly, their gazes filled with a mix of shock and uncertainty as they watched Li Chengyi quickly circling back.
"Regardless, let’s deal with him first. This guy is somewhat strange; even our particle cannons can’t take him down head-on. Just now, he seemed to have used some method to avoid our radar and wasn’t fully hit."
"To replace the Three-headed Shadow Dragon in combat, this guy is definitely not a common character. Let’s strike together and take him down in a second!"
The six Divine Star Generals swiftly exchanged information and reached a consensus.
As a new human class that was semi-fused with artificial intelligence, their thought speed far surpassed that of ordinary people, able to exchange more than a dozen complex decisions in an instant.
Their information processing speed was now comparable to that of a computer.
Upon reaching a unanimous decision, the six were just about to make their move.
Suddenly, an electromagnetic wave was transmitted to the six from a great distance away.
"Delivering His Majesty’s command, the Dark Star Cannon is charging and the target lock has been switched to Military Section Nine’s General Li Chengyi. Please, all of you stabilize the situation, lure the enemy deeper, and coordinate with the tactical plan."
The central Empire’s AI’s female voice was cold and devoid of emotion, but the six were already accustomed to this; the tone didn’t matter, what was important was the content of the message.
"The Dark Star Cannon... Wasn’t it prepared for Dongjun? How could this be!?"
Their expressions were shaken.
It was evident that Earth-Moon had obtained some trump cards from the Black Sea and also knew quite a bit about taboos and had suffered significant damage.
Dongjun was one of the very few who had benefited.
The Black Sea was infinite, with creatures within possessing strange and unpredictable abilities, and the abilities that Dongjun had obtained were just as unpredictable.
It was difficult to suppress the opponent using only technological means; only by using superpowered interstellar weapons to instantly obliterate them could it be foolproof.
"Isn’t this a bit too exaggerated?"
They were all somewhat silent.
But since the command had been issued from above, they had to carry it out.
The six paused briefly, their backs unfolding pairs of white light wings, and they suddenly threw themselves towards Li Chengyi.
In their Battle God Form, fully unfolded, three of them engaged at long range while the other three closed in for hand-to-hand combat, six points of light rapidly approaching Li Chengyi.
And on Li Chengyi’s side...
’It’s over... I can’t stop!’ The speed was simply too fast.
Li Chengyi’s vision was now completely dark, surrounded by flowers, and he could not see anything clearly.
His speed kept soaring, and by now, it had reached an extreme that he could no longer continue.
This speed limit seemed to be determined by the particle energy velocity unleashed by Glint Flash.
When the photons that composed Glint Flash themselves had limited speed, naturally, Li Chengyi’s traveling speed couldn’t be greatly increased either.
Emboldened by the Anti-Trace, he had recklessly turned on his hard-headed mode, accelerating madly toward the enemy’s camp before sprinting there.
At this point, his speed had reached five thousand kilometers per second, and no matter how he tried to accelerate further, he couldn’t continue to increase his speed.
He could only rely on a rough sense of direction to make a bend and head back in the direction he had come from.
Bang!
It seemed he had hit something in front.
Li Chengyi didn’t know what he had hit; he didn’t need to know.
Because at this very moment, everything in front of him had become a blurred shadow.
The myriads of stars in the universe, countless warships, had all been stretched into lines, like a painting with elongated strokes.
Only this painting had been rolled into a cylindrical shape, enveloping him entirely.
Bang!
He seemed to have hit something again.
But that was no longer important.
At such times, what he hit and how he hit it were no longer within his control.
Anyway, the effect of the Shadow Spring was that as long as he himself didn’t move, it was fine.
As for flying too fast in the vacuum and hitting something while in a state of non-movement, that wasn’t considered moving either.
The talent was still effective.
This was also the reason why Li Chengyi could stealthily accelerate his flight without being preemptively killed.
Because he... was always invisible...
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!!
Soon there were three consecutive impacts.
With the ongoing collisions, Li Chengyi’s speed gradually slowed down.
He began to release Glint Flash in the opposite direction. With that active movement, his figure was revealed at once.
After dozens of Glint Flashes in a row, everything in front of him finally became clear.
He was still flying at high speed, but his velocity was much slower than before, merely at a rate of ten times the speed of sound or so.
That wasn’t the key issue, rather it was the white humanoid Reinforced Human in front of him with white light wings unfolded, looking like a magnificent and majestic angel.
The chest plate of the opponent’s mech bore a White Star number: 4.
That represented the ranking of the fourth Divine Star General!
Amongst everyone in White Star, besides the White Emperor and the Marshal, he was ranked fourth.
The fourth Divine Star General—Lara Glu, was staring blankly ahead as the black armored humanoid form flew closer.
Just now... his five comrades had tried to move forward to intercept head-on... and as a result...
They became five brilliant bursts of fireworks...
And the opponent, like a flattened ball, quickly bounced back to its original shape.
Watching Li Chengyi continue to fly toward him, Lara Glu didn’t say another word; he turned and ran.
Fighting like this, what’s the point of luring the enemy?
The material gap between the two mechs was too great; upon collision, the other side was unharmed, while he had already had five destroyed!
What’s the point of continuing the fight?
Li Chengyi did not pursue any further and simply watched as the opponent retreated back into the defensive trap zone. That place gave him an uneasy feeling.
It was obviously equipped with weapons that could threaten him.
The clear advantage of technology was the extremely powerful weaponry, far surpassing the defense, so even though his Four Seals were far stronger than the opponent, he would not act recklessly.
"Is this the end?" he opened the communication channel.
Within the channel, there was a wave of jubilant shouting.
Countless officers of the Earth-Moon forces were yelling and whistling, many of them in an excited fervor.
"General, this engagement is over... You’ve crushed the mechs of five Divine Star Generals. Even if they are Reinforced Humans in their complete form, it will take a long time to recover. So... for a considerable period going forward, our battle zone will enter a mild stand-off phase. All thanks to you!"
Commander Li Funan exclaimed excitedly over the channel.
Previously, the Three-Shadow Dragon suppressed the high-level strength of the opponent in the same way, and now, the situation was repeating itself!
"Does that mean for the most part, we’re now in a phase of long-range beam cannon exchanges?" Li Chengyi asked.
"Yes," Li Funan replied. "This is essentially a war of attrition now. It’s a matter of seeing who can’t hold out first."
Moving, Li Chengyi glanced over at the White Star camp as he made his way back.
Streaks of light beams flew back and forth, like flashlights shining into each other.
Large warships, unable to change direction quickly, became targets, but thankfully they were equipped with deflection fields, which could divert most of the energy from the beam cannons.
Li Chengyi would be of little use from now on; his individual power was limited, unless he could teleport by the kilometer, like Shadow Flash.
After a brief foray into the fray, he returned to the flagship, tidying up himself.
In the command hall, Li Funan stood by his side, both gazing at the current situation on the battle map.
Swaths of blue and red dots clashed fiercely, entangling in combat.
From time to time, urgent alarms would ring out in the hall, with Li Funan and his adjutant swiftly issuing orders, maneuvering the small fleets from place to place.
"That’s how it is in a grand battlefield. You need not worry too much; even when the Three-Shadow Dragon was here, it was the same. They might have slaughtered at least hundreds of thousands of the enemy, but, when it comes to warships, there really weren’t that many..." Li Funan energetically explained.
The loss of five of the Six Great Stars Generals left only one withdrawing, granting a significant advantage to the Earth-Moon forces of Military Section Nine.
"Each warship is staffed with at least a thousand, sometimes tens of thousands, mostly Clones. A few million casualties in such a battlefield is really just a drop in the bucket," Li Funan said with a smile.
"So, I’m just here for the tough fights?" Li Chengyi nodded, understanding.
"Exactly. After all, many times, if you have a sharp spearhead leading the team, it can tear through a fortress defense line that we’ve been fortifying for a long time. The human wave tactics of White Star are terribly frightening, and the slightest negligence can lead to being surrounded and killed. So...."
"What about the Grade Eight and Grade Nine Feiyi Masters? How do they fight?" Li Chengyi frowned.
"They mainly control remote-controlled vessels, but because the distance is extremely large, this aspect has turned into a cyber warfare confrontation," Li Funan sighed.
"Also, it’s good that you didn’t continue to charge earlier. The White Star side has laid out many super-gravity collapse traps and a large number of Eternal Freeze Zones. Once you get close, even if your power is great, it would be very difficult to escape."
"Wouldn’t even Jiu Yi manage?" Li Chengyi, not knowing the power of these weapons, compared with Jiu Yi.
"Sir, Jiu Yi is indeed our strongest personal weapon, but it is not the strongest strategic weapon... Besides, White Star’s technology is much more advanced than ours..." Li Funan sighed again.
Li Chengyi understood.
Looking at the map filled with entwined points of light engrossed in battle, he suddenly felt a sense of ennui.
On one side, Feiyi Masters controlled Feiyi vessels; on the other, a multitude of Clones and complete beings controlled warship bodies.
What was this battle really about?
It was all just a struggle for resources!
For Earth-Moon, Feiyi vessels represented both resources and money.
For White Star, Clones and complete beings were also the product of money and resources.
"Boring," he muttered under his breath and turned to leave.
"Mission completed, I’m returning to Earth-Moon."
"But..." Li Funan was taken aback.
"I’ll report to Jiu Yi and military headquarters," Li Chengyi’s voice came through the channel.
A spark of black light flashed, and he vanished into the auxiliary ship.
The small auxiliary vessel detached from the flagship, like a black fish lighting up with a blue glow at the tail, abruptly accelerating towards Earth-Moon.
Meanwhile, in the distance, the fortress group slowly rotating like a stellar ring continued to receive massive fleets of reinforcements flying in its direction.

Inside the Void Council chamber.
The eyes of the nine council members converged on the black female humanoid shape at the center.
Surprise, shock, scrutiny, calmness—the nine each had their own thoughts but remained motionless.
Saruman, seated in the chairman’s position, showed a look of admiration on his face.
He gently applauded, creating a soft sound.
"A splendid method of invasion... even I can’t understand where exactly the oversight occurred."
’Nonsense, I don’t even know how I got in myself; you’d be surprised if you knew!’ Rainbow Candy grumbled internally.
She had forcefully created a fatal flaw in the opponent’s system from minor imperfections, which on their own did not constitute vulnerabilities, using Flower Language Technique.
This method of creating a hole from nothing was astonishing even to herself.
It was too outrageous...
