Blind Spot -
Chapter 381 - 348 Destiny 4
Chapter 381: 348 Destiny 4
"It was you who captured us in the first place, and now you’re just abandoning us to fend for ourselves? Is this what you call justice? For humanity!?" Yang Chengxi’s temper exploded, seeing through Star Lake’s hypocrisy at this moment. This organization, under the banner of justice, had long been corrupted from within.
"No matter what you say, currently in the entire Earth-Moon, only the mightiest Yi Country has people who can block the vestiges of the Shadow Dragon. Staying here, your death is certain," Arya spoke solemnly, "So...run. The farther you can get away, the better."
"Why not just kill us now?" Karan asked with a hint of sarcasm.
"Killing you would cause you to mutate instantaneously and turn into Reinforced Humans with the heart’s blood of the Shadow Dragon. That would be even more troublesome," Arya sighed.
The four fell silent at once.
At this moment, the mutated people around the islands had already been greatly reduced by the rampage of the strong force field wielders.
The entire island, originally populated by approximately a few thousand people, had now lost more than half its number after this battle.
But the high-ranking officials who carried out the cleansing showed little change in their expressions.
It seemed that the life and death of these lowly soldiers were not of concern to them.
Soon, with the last of the mutated people being dealt with.
The ground of Xuan Ming Island slowly opened up to reveal several dark underground holes.
From within these holes quickly emerged rows of naked young men and women.
They picked up armor and weapons from the corpses with calm expressions and donned them on themselves.
"Clones...!!? You..." Barton recognized the identities of these people.
That identical look and build, even the blindest person could tell they were Clones.
No wonder most of the people in Star Lake were Reinforced Humans, with modified and surgically altered faces.
"Go. It’s time for you to leave," Arya gestured with her hand, and a team of red-armored Reinforced Humans approached, enclosing the four in the middle.
Barton looked at their calm and indifferent faces.
He didn’t know if the heart’s blood of the Shadow Dragon was real or fake, but if it was real, he couldn’t begin to imagine what their coming days would be like.
"Go!" Barton roared softly and turned to walk towards the gap that had opened up in the encirclement.

Li Chengyi was walking slowly on the streets of Suiyang.
He wanted to go home and see his parents again, but he wasn’t sure when he might enter the Blind Spot.
According to estimates, it could happen at any given moment now.
It was night time, with a drizzle so fine that it couldn’t quickly soak through his clothes.
On the yellow tactile paving of the sidewalk, rainwater had already accumulated within the gaps.
The water was disturbed by the rain, creating tiny ripples.
The roadside greenery trees, pruned into the shape of dandelions, had messy festive lights hanging from their branches, probably from some past festival.
All of them were now off.
On the sidewalk, passerby after passerby with umbrellas streamed past Li Chengyi.
Also passing were the vehicles in the traffic lane.
Through the car windows, drivers could be seen using limitless earphones for calls on their way home from work.
A group of middle school students who had just been let out of school walked past Li Chengyi, wearing blue and white striped uniforms, their laughter constant.
Their chattering was like a brood of chicks ready to return home.
Passing a rotating cake shop, Li Chengyi suddenly paused. At a dining table near the floor-to-ceiling glass, he saw a somewhat familiar face sitting there.
"Li Chengyi!" The man at the table looked surprised, obviously having spotted Li Chengyi as well.
The man quickly stood up and came out of the shop.
"Li Chengyi, where are you going?" He approached swiftly and patted Li Chengyi on the shoulder.
"Chen Xudong..." Li Chengyi recognized the identity of the man.
He was one of his close friends from his past life.
"Haven’t seen you for a long time, where have you been lately? And what’s with the outfit, looks pretty cool. I hardly recognized you!" Chen Xudong remained the same, wearing a blue glittery T-shirt and jeans, a bit more muscular than before, but still with the youthful air of an immature child.
Clearly, he was still well-protected by his father.
"Recently, I’ve been a bit busy, work stuff..." Li Chengyi, now two meters tall, towered over Chen Xudong, his demeanor much more matured.
Although just a year had passed, the experiences he had been through were what many would not encounter in a lifetime.
It’s experiences that are the key to maturity, not merely age.
"Come on in and hang out, I’m here with a couple of clients, and they’re all beautiful ladies~~" It was apparent that Chen Xudong was still working at his father’s gym.
Li Chengyi looked in the direction Chen Xudong pointed towards the table.
Two fashionably dressed ladies, one young and innocent, the other mature and voluptuous, both looked over at him and smiled with a toast. Just by looking at the AR glasses casually placed by the table, one could tell they were wealthy women.
Watching this scene, whether it was Chen Xudong or the two women, they were all immersed in the daily routines and peace of common people, day in, day out, year after year.
And he had to struggle in the Blind Spot, fighting for survival, to carve out a glimmer of hope for the future.
Seeing Chen Xudong’s sunny smile, Li Chengyi suddenly felt a tremendous sense of division within him.
This world.
The lofty nobles, great families, Feiyi Masters, Reinforced Humans, and so on.
And the common folk who live ordinary lives, work honestly, fall in love, get married, and experience birth, aging, sickness, and death.
They were utterly two different worlds.
"No thanks, go have fun, I’ve got things to do," Li Chengyi declined, facing Chen Xudong’s expectant eyes.
"You’re not getting any younger, have you thought about finding someone?" Chen Xudong seemed a bit helpless.
Since the last time he had an unexpected encounter during an activity with Li Qingpeng and the others, his friend had become increasingly secretive, with a great change in appearance.
Afterward, he was busy helping his father expand the gym franchise and didn’t have time to keep up with Li Chengyi.
And just after a short while, his once young and fresh-faced friend had taken on the style of a burly long-haired uncle.
"You want to detach yourself from the masses, huh!?" Chen Xudong slapped Li Chengyi’s waist with his palm, only to be rebounded by the hard metal-like skin and muscle, making his palm twitch in pain.
"Ouch... that’s it, no wonder you’re so strong in a fight with your sister... Alright, I was just kindly offering you a chance, forget it if you don’t want to go. Sigh... just haven’t seen you in a while, let’s hang out when you’re free..." he said somewhat resignedly.
"Hmm. But I might be very busy, I’ll need to find time. If there’s trouble... call me," Li Chengyi said softly.
He did not want to lose his good friend, but sadly, the person he had become was no longer within the reach of ordinary people.
"Sigh... I know you’ve made it big now, even bought a mansion for your family..." Chen Xudong sighed, seemingly also feeling the distance between them.
"I’m off. Don’t forget to call me." Li Chengyi patted his head as if petting a small dog.
"What the hell are you doing! You’re ruining my image!!?" Chen Xudong panicked immediately.
Swatting away Li Chengyi’s hand, he hurriedly turned to give chase.
But he found Li Chengyi had already walked several meters away, rounded a corner, and disappeared.
He chased forward a few steps, and when he reached the corner, he saw that the place was deserted, with only the neon lights of the shops flickering.
"Run that fast?"

City of the Death Angels.
In the ashen, dilapidated city.
A tall figure in a black trench coat materialized swiftly on the open ground.
With long hair, black eyes, and a brawny frame, it was none other than Li Chengyi, who had just entered this place.
Amidst the ruins of ashy-white buildings, there were a few trapezoidal stone platforms interspersed.
The platforms were surrounded by stairs on all sides, some stacked with three giant stone slabs, others with four.
At the very top, they all shared the same simple altar.
Hiss hiss...
Suddenly, a rustling sound drifted over from all around.
Li Chengyi looked around.
The ashy dust was like a fog, cloaking everything beyond a hundred meters.
The weather this time was much worse than the last time he had entered.
Puff puff puff.
Suddenly, a dense sound of footsteps rapidly approached from all directions.
The first to burst out of the dust were ashy-white skeletons.
They varied in height, draped in motley robes, some wielding swords, some long spears, and unbelievably, some even carried rusted muskets!
The dense multitude of skeletons, at first glance, resembled an ocean; just within the range of Li Chengyi’s sight, there were at least a thousand.
They filled every visible open space around, surging towards Li Chengyi like a tide.
In the distance, grey and white wraiths floated among them.
’This is a good opportunity to try out the new Flower Language Technique.’
Li Chengyi had just left Chen Xudong’s company and had yet to sort out his emotions in the moment.
Seeing these multitudes of skeletons, he felt an unreal sensation in his heart.
"1+1=2. Who disagrees?"
His hand back lit up with a faint purple glow as he spoke aloud to the skeletons now within ten meters of him.
No one disagreed.
After all, they had no mouths, only bones.
In an instant, the purple light dazzled, shining from Li Chengyi’s hand back.
Hum!
An invisible wave of energy emanated from him, instantly covering all skeletons and wraiths within twenty meters.
Stillness.
For a moment, everything around seemed to fall into silence.
Li Chengyi could feel his mental strength decrease by one-twentieth in that instant.
In its place were all the skeletons within a twenty-meter radius.
With a loud bang, their legs drilled neatly into the ground, their weapons drooping, forming a perfect circle of a human wall that protected Li Chengyi in the center.
As the ground was penetrated, clouds of ashy dust were kicked up by the wind.
Li Chengyi watched this scene unfold before his eyes and finally confirmed the effectiveness of the Flower Language Power on the creatures of the Blind Spot.
’Next, is to find the Whispering Ring... then find the mysterious door...’
He looked around.
"Does anyone have the Whispering Ring?"
In the sound of rustling, the skeletons twitched but did not respond further.
Li Chengyi paused for a moment, not surprised, and continued.
"Then, can anyone take me to the mysterious door? It’s a door that can lead me out of here."
Silence surrounded them.
Li Chengyi thought for a bit and then added.
"You’d better take me to the mysterious door, or don’t blame me if I have to take action!"
The words slowly spread.
At once, all the controlled skeletons started moving rhythmically, crowding towards one direction in the city.
Li Chengyi followed them through the sea of skeletons, hacking and slashing his way, and in less than ten minutes, they arrived at a somewhat ancient and solitary stone gate.
There were no buildings connected to the stone gate, which stood alone on a piece of ruins.
In the center of the gate, there was a faint glimmer of silver light sparkling in the air.
"...."
Li Chengyi was at a loss for words, gazing at the protecting skeletons around him, feeling for the first time the terrifying effect of the Power of Language on lower-level entities.
The key was to ensure peace, compulsory peace.
Because this meant if the other party was unwilling, Li Chengyi could simply threaten them, saying if you don’t listen to me, I will attack you, and then we can’t have peace.
The other party had no choice, to maintain peace, they had to do as he said...
