Blind Spot
Chapter 215 - 203 Encounters 3

Chapter 215: 203 Encounters 3

Clouds of fog completely enshrouded Yunshan.

Li Chengyi sprinted down the middle of the street with Huang Wei in one hand.

He moved as fast as a gusting car, leaping accurately and in time to clear any obstacle with ease.

Tap tap tap tap...

The crisp sound of footsteps echoed repeatedly through the streets.

In the fog on both sides, white bubble-like objects slowly emerged and burst.

But if they got closer, they would find these bubbles could not be approached at all; it was as if they didn’t exist. They disappeared upon approach.

"Follow this road straight, go past the Li Family Pharmacy around the bend ahead. We’re there!" Huang Wei’s voice trembled in the wind as she floated in mid-air.

"Is that so?"

Suddenly, Li Chengyi halted in his tracks and looked up towards the front right.

On the sidewalk to the right.

A tall figure shrouded in a thick black coat stood silently beneath a lamppost.

The person wore a black round hat, a large scarf, their face wrapped in black cloth, and sunglasses, as if they completely concealed their body from view.

Even the shoes were black boots, covering most of the shin.

This person also noticed Li Chengyi and Huang Wei as they passed by, lifting their head to watch them.

"Is it a monster?" Li Chengyi didn’t stop; he rushed past the figure.

His aim was to find the Blue Book, the Book of Record. He could not possibly stop to question every strange person he saw.

"I don’t know, we often see them here. But they can’t communicate or be touched.

These strange figures in black appear abruptly in some places and then disappear just as suddenly." Huang Wei replied.

"Is that so?"

Suddenly, Li Chengyi slammed on the brakes, grabbed Huang Wei, who was carried away by inertia, and pulled her back.

They stood in front of a building that looked like a croissant with a bite taken out of it.

On the iron gate in front of the building, there was a white rectangular plastic sign.

’Yunshan Library’

"We’ve arrived."

Li Chengyi stood outside the iron gate, concentrating energy in his hands to form a Golden Sword and swiftly made a cut.

Crack.

The padlock on the gate was sliced open, and then kicked apart.

"Let’s go, this is the place you mentioned, right?"

Li Chengyi examined the library.

The building was pure white, decorated with some pale yellow spots, seemingly made to look like a cheese bread.

There was a small entrance at the bottom.

"Be careful, there are monsters guarding this place!" Huang Wei whispered a warning from behind him.

"Monsters?"

Li Chengyi was about to ask further, but then he saw there was no need.

On both sides of the path leading to the entrance of the library, numerous white grasses were sprouting up rapidly.

The grass grew longer and longer, taller and taller.

One meter.

Two meters.

Three meters!

Massive amounts of white grass like white hair came together, intertwined, whirled, extended.

Countless white blades of grass swiftly took shape in front of the two, touching down, and weaving into white humanoid figures.

These figures had no faces; their heads were entirely shrouded by white clouds, looking from afar like white lollipops, with large heads and slender, tall bodies.

"They’re Lollipop People!" Huang Wei exclaimed softly, stepping back in horror.

"Be careful! These Lollipop People are very fast, and their heads are incredibly hard; they can’t be killed!"

"Can’t be killed?" Li Chengyi concentrated energy in his hands to form Golden Swords, and swung at the nearest Lollipop Person’s head.

Dang!

The Golden Sword clanged against the figure’s head.

The sword was repelled, but the Lollipop Person also staggered back several steps, seemingly dazed by the Giant Strength.

"This hard?"

Li Chengyi’s expression tightened slightly as he raised his hand again.

An invisible Radiance Field radiated swiftly outwards from him.

Soon, the first Lollipop Person was enveloped within its range.

Hiss...

Its body twisted, and the white sphere on top began to slowly melt, emitting thin wisps of white vapor.

’It works!’ Li Chengyi took a bold step forward, approaching them.

The Radiance Field quickly included several Lollipop People.

Immediately, the hissing sound of evaporating smoke started rising from their heads.

These Lollipop People seemed to have a basic intelligence; sensing trouble, they all stopped and began retreating.

Soon, they retreated to the sides of the road, their figures gradually disappearing into the fog.

"Let’s go," Li Chengyi frowned. Since they were not intent on stopping him, there was no need to make sure they were dead.

In the Blind Spot, it’s best not to kill monsters if you can avoid it.

Otherwise, the difficulty would increase exponentially next time, making it troublesome for oneself.

Huang Wei watched from behind, astonished by what unfolded before her.

The Lollipop People, who had previously chased her in a frantic pursuit, were pushed back so effortlessly?

Before she could react, Li Chengyi in front of her was already heading toward the entrance.

"Wait for me!" She hurried after him.

Suiyang · Eternal Botanical Garden.

Lines of tourists continuously entered the botanical garden through several large entrances.

Some were families coming for a picnic, even bringing their children along. Some were couples on an outing, clinging to each other with affection.

There were also groups of elderly tourists, led by guides who provided running commentary about the botanical garden.

"The Eternal Botanical Garden is generally divided into two areas, a free zone and a chargeable zone. This is a new type of botanical garden established by a local entrepreneur from Suiyang City. On top of traditional botanical gardens, this entrepreneur is keen on developing new varieties of flowers. So..."

The tour guide, dressed in a little red jacket and holding a mini-microphone, went on and on explaining.

Within the crowd.

Following a group of elderly people, there were three fashionably dressed young foreigners.

The leader was a red-haired woman with a tall figure, dressed in sportswear of the same color, her blue eyes calm, looking around with an evaluative gaze.

It was as if she wasn’t here for the botanical garden, but had entered a territory of dangerous animals.

"Lord Kadis, this is the place where the thug who snatched the Blue Book of Wishes gathered his team. What should we do next?" a black woman with a ponytail asked in a solemn voice.

"What do you think, Fran?" The red-haired woman was Kadis, a high-ranking official from Noel Company who had recently entered Suiyang City from Sutan.

Upon receiving rough information, she headed here immediately.

The company’s goal was to obtain the true entity of the Blue Book—the Book of Record.

This was the key to finding the real Eternal Wishing Book.

Many people believed that the Lan Meng Mountain Master had completely freed himself from the Blind Spot by relying on the Eternal Wishing Book hidden deep within the Blind Spot.

And it was rumored that the true Book of Wishes contained immense power capable of fulfilling any wish.

The main period of activity for the Lan Meng Mountain Master spanned thousands of years.

This was very likely due to a power obtained through the Eternal Wishing Book.

"There’s something about this place that’s quite unusual," said another man accompanying Kadis, with blonde short hair, a well-proportioned body, dark sunglasses, and dressed in a white shirt and black trousers as if he worked in an office.

"Lead the way," Kadis instructed.

As they came in search of treasures within the Blind Spot, it was natural to bring a Blind Spot Individual with them.

And Fran just happened to be one of the few High-Level Sensors the company had found after years of searching, known as a Blind Spot Individual.

She possessed a rare ability among those from the Blind Spot.

That was the ability to sense the subtlest aura of the Blind Spot.

This sensing had an accuracy that often exceeded 80%, and it included sensing various objects brought out from the Blind Spot.

Although these objects were invisible to outsiders, they could be touched through a layer of material.

Therefore, Fran was also one of the few sensors that Noel Company had searched for over many years and only managed to find after great difficulty.

"Follow me," Fran said, glancing around before turning to head toward another part of the Eternal Botanical Garden.

Kadis and the other person followed closely behind, seemingly accustomed to this mode of operation without any surprise.

The three of them moved on, passing one white greenhouse after another, gradually heading in the direction of the Exotic Garden that Li Chengyi had cultivated.

Fran appeared to be able to pinpoint the location of the mutant flowers precisely, with no deviation in the direction of progress.

"I’m sorry, this area is not open for visitors," a voice said.

Halfway through, at a fork in the path, there was a fence set up with two security guards seated under a sunshade.

One of them stood up to stop them.

"I’ll handle this," the black woman stepped forward.

"Wait, Rose," Kadis said in Sutanese. "Don’t be hasty. This is Yi Country."

"Yes." The black woman bowed her head and stepped back.

"We were just strolling around and taking a look; we’ll be on our way immediately," Kadis said to the security guard with a smile. Her Yi Country language was quite standard.

"Hmm, this is a private area. Remember that for next time," the security guard nodded.

The three of them stepped back and walked away.

But they weren’t leaving; instead, they took a detour and quietly leapt into the Exotic Garden from a wall not covered by surveillance.

Between neatly planned fields of flowers, the moment the three landed, they were stunned by the scene before them.

A swath of purplish-black flowers kept dripping small drops of dark golden liquid before their eyes.

"The Blind Spot scent, it’s wafting from here," Fran said gravely.

"This place...is it these flowers?" Kadis asked in astonishment. "I’ve never seen this kind of flower before. It’s not in any databases online either." Blue electrical sparks kept flashing in her eyes—a clear sign of her body’s modules querying rapidly.

"These must be a type of plant mutated from items within the Blind Spot," Fran replied.

"So that means we’ve found the right people? This small organization of the Garden of Fate seems to possess something significant," a hint of a smile appeared on Kadis’s face.

"Take all these flowers back with us to the company for analysis. I have a feeling they could be worth a lot of money!" She walked over to a Mutant Allium Flower, crouched down, and gently touched the slowly oozing pale gold liquid.

"If I were you, I wouldn’t do that."

Suddenly, a deep male voice floated in from the side of the three.

"Who?" Fran looked in the direction of the voice but saw nothing.

"It’s a broadcast," Kadis said, looking around but unable to pinpoint the source of the voice.

"Wireless communication, the person isn’t here."

"There!"

The black woman, Rose, abruptly looked up towards the semi-sky in the near distance.

A black and white flying machine was rapidly approaching from that direction.

"It’s the Security Office! Local security officers?" Rose frowned. "Sir, should we take action?"

"No," Kadis raised her hand. "Let’s withdraw."

"We’ve communicated with some factions of Jiu Yi, but the Security Office isn’t under their jurisdiction. Let’s avoid making a big scene." She took the lead in retreating and with a flip, easily cleared the wall.

The other two followed suit, jumping over the wall and departing quickly.

At that moment, the flying machine from the Security Office hovered above the Exotic Garden.

Inside the window.

Ding Zaocheng sat in his seat, frowning as he watched the rapidly departing Kadis and her companions.

"There are big problems with these people."

"Director, should we arrest them?" asked an enthusiastic young officer beside him.

"This is not the Silent Fortress, not the urban area; it’s enough to achieve our goal. Besides, those individuals are not easy targets," Ding Zaocheng shook his head.

Having recently been promoted to the position of head director of Suiyang City, he had been monitoring some key protected areas in the city.

So immediately after he received Xindela’s emergency call and saw the three individuals in the video footage, he personally took the Flying Yi and rushed over here.

Upon seeing the three of them, he understood that if he had not come in person, maybe they wouldn’t have left at all.

"That red-haired woman is likely a director of Noel Company, Kadis," Xindela’s voice sounded inside the craft. "Thank you for your effort, Director Ding."

"It’s nothing; no matter who she is, here in Suiyang, anyone who dares to break the law will not be let off lightly!" Ding Zaocheng said earnestly.
