"Boss, he was being chased by the Big Dog Ball. If I didn’t save him, he would’ve been done for," Huang Wei replied.

"You wouldn’t want the Big Dog Ball to become stronger and faster, would you?"

The boss man snorted coldly and looked towards Li Chengyi in the dark.

With the little light available, he could only make out that Li Chengyi had a robust build, clearly someone who worked out regularly.

"A newcomer... do you have any food and water?"

"No more, just this left," Li Chengyi picked up the bottle of water he had left over from earlier.

"Chen Daqi, search him," the boss directed a thin man beside him.

"Why is it always me?" A long-haired man in the corner got up and approached Li Chengyi.

"You didn’t tell me about these things," Li Chengyi looked at Huang Wei.

"Everyone’s been through this here. This place is the only safe spot around. We can only survive by sticking together and sharing resources," Huang Wei explained.

"Alright, I understand," Li Chengyi nodded. "It looks like you’ve lived here for quite a while. So, can you show me around this place later?"

"I can give you all my food and drink," he said earnestly.

"Of course," Huang Wei nodded.

"You’re very perceptive, buddy." The man named Chen Daqi approached, looking at Li Chengyi who had raised his hands, ready to let himself be searched, and suddenly laughed.

"I thought I had to beat you up to get you to cooperate."

"I was saved by Huang Wei once, after all. Consider whatever I have on me as a repayment," Li Chengyi said with a smile.

"I like you, kid," Chen Daqi smiled back.

He reached out toward Li Chengyi.
