Chapter 207: 195 ready three
Sutan·Belgastin.
As Sutan’s largest trade city, Belgastin could not compare to the prosperity of Yi Country’s capital, Andu, but it was still the largest population center outside of Yi Country’s White Star City.
The gathering of over sixty million people made this city as large as a small country.
Even more extravagant was the fact that the city was built at the center of the desert, forming a stark contrast with the barren lands that lay beyond.
A colossal circle of mechanical silver walls separated this city from everything outside, creating two distinct worlds.
Inside the walls, there were brilliant flowers; outside, there was utter chaos.
Noel Company was one of the three largest capitals in this city.
The Noel headquarters building was a half-signal-repeating-tower-like office building known as Tianxin Tower.
The upper half of Tianxin Tower was equipped with powerful signal repeaters.
The lower half was used for ordinary office purposes.
This also established its status as the tallest point in the city.
At this moment, on the seventy-fifth floor of Tianxin Tower, within a suite,
a tall woman with short red hair was holding a teacup, embracing a steaming cup of wolfberry tea, and looking out at the desolate distance through the huge floor-to-ceiling window.
The city wall was not as high as her floor, so from here, she could overlook the scenery even further away.
The stark contrast between desolation and prosperity was thus reflected in her eyes at this moment.
"No matter how many times I see it, it’s always so breathtaking..." the woman sighed.
"Miss Kadis, you’re getting sentimental again," a clear male voice emanated from a brown diamond-shaped crystal floating behind her, flickering intermittently.
"Just some thoughts. In this age, the barriers between people are almost turning into reproductive isolation," the red-haired woman named Kadis turned around.
She was draped in a snow-white bathrobe, which vaguely revealed sections of skin beneath.
But that skin was not the color of human flesh; it was pale silver, interspersed with various interlocking patterns—those were the connection lines left by the junctions between modules.
"I regret to inform you that the company’s efforts in Yi Country have completely failed. Director Andy has been confirmed to have permanently lost all signs of life. The headquarters has rejected his confidant’s revival request," the crystal continued.
"Having one fewer person to share resources with, why on earth would that pack of hyenas at the top agree to a revival request? Isn’t that expected?" the woman laughed.
"The board has unanimously decided that the Book of Wishes from the Blue Book has failed, and they hope that you will personally go to collect the remaining Book of Record," the crystal said.
"Jiu Yi has intervened in Yi Country, so my going there would be meaningless," the woman rejected.
"Jiu Yi has already reached an agreement with the board to jointly develop the Book of Record. Their current research in biomedical sciences has temporarily ceased, with all military industry resources wholly shifted to preparing for war. They can no longer attend to these minor details," the crystal answered.
"Are you trying to persuade me as well, Maicha?" Kadis raised an eyebrow, looking at the floating brown diamond-shaped crystal.
"The region you oversee is starting to show signs of unrest. Many question your authority, doubting your position in the company. You urgently need a victory, an achievement, to stabilize your current interests," the crystal replied.
"....." Kadis fell silent.
She had struggled up from the bottom, and had finally reached this position. Following her were too many friends, brothers, and sisters.
Too many people depended on her for their livelihood.
Should she fall...
"Additionally, as a Complete, your laboratory also requires some new external materials for stimulation. You should understand very well the competition among Completes—private laboratories are the true core," the crystal Maicha suggested.
"I understand... show strength, show results, gain more resource allocation, attract more research minds, upgrade with better smart brain equipment. The strong get stronger, technology iterates; the competition among Completes is a road of no return," Kadis sighed.
"You’ve already embarked on this path; there’s no turning back," Maicha reminded.
"Yes. No turning back," Kadis nodded, "Prepare the equipment modules. Switch to a biological system set. This time, I will go there myself."
"Understood!"
"List the potential adversaries," Kadis instructed.
The crystal suddenly soared into the air, hovering before her eyes, projecting two beams of light to form a floating screen.
One by one, the screen displayed potential opponents and enemies.
"Moreover, just to remind you: the information on the Book of Record is likely related to the whereabouts of the authentic Eternal Wishing Book, not the sham that Director Andy fought over," Maicha voiced out.
"So, do you know where to find clues for the Book of Record?"
"Still investigating. However, the Book of Record is most likely within the Blind Spot; you will need to recruit a suitable Blind Spot Individual to proceed there."
"Got it."
"Due to the Blind Spot Individuals’ instability, it’s recommended that you apply to carry a certain number of Biological Controllers," Maicha said. "After all, the biological force field device Director Andy carried was the same level as yours, and still, he took a fall there."
"Was he defeated by that Reinforced Human called Thug? Bring up his file and let’s have a look," Kadis ordered.
The image on the screen instantly shifted, revealing the figure of Li Chengyi wearing a Floral Dress.
"Thug: Identity as a Blind Spot Individual, unknown name, unknown age.
Module suit, according to data revealed, includes three types.
Purple, yellow, gold. Three sets of Reinforced Human modules."
"Maximum force output, one hit to breach Director Andy’s third-grade protective field. This is already the highest level commercial force field available on the market. The power cannot be underestimated."
"A waste like Andy, who only knew how to recklessly rely on his force field and charge about, it was normal for him to be targeted. So, the sham Wishing Book from the Blue Book was snatched by Thug?" she asked.
"Yes."
"Then let’s start by finding this Mr. Thug; perhaps he has clues to the Book of Record on him..."

19th.
Suiyang City.
A line of cars parked in front of the Eternal Botanical Garden.
Unlike the usually sparse tourist vehicles, these cars were for the most part stopped at a newly opened side gate of the garden.
The Eternal Botanical Garden of today had expanded to several times its previous size.
The surrounding areas within sight were all included within the bounds of the garden.
Bang.
A car door closed.
Dragon Gate Crane took a deep breath, dressed in an eye-catching sky-blue suit, and looked around for Sister Tang’s familiar red sports car.
But to his disappointment, not a single one of the surrounding vehicles belonged to Sister Tang.
Not far away, Xiao Zhong also got out of his car, wearing a grey turtleneck sweater and light beige sweatpants.
"Brother Long~" he called out, waving over with a halfway decent Yi Country accent.
"Where’s Sister Tang?" Dragon Gate Crane asked as he walked over.
"She arrived here earlier with Da Xiong, they’re inside," Xiao Zhong smiled.
"So early?" Dragon Gate Crane was about to say more when he suddenly felt a shadow approaching from behind.
He turned around to see a wall of a man pushing a wheelchair towards him.
No... it wasn’t an actual wall, but rather a huge man, towering like one.
The man was clad in a black suit, wearing sunglasses, with a silver-white prosthetic arm showing from the wrist down, clearly a modified limb.
In the wheelchair sat a middle-aged man with a gentle demeanor and short, blonde hair.
"Hello, I assume you are also here by invitation from Li Chengyi?" the middle-aged man asked, extending his hand to shake Xiao Zhong’s.
"I’m Xindela, here by invitation as well. Though I’m not sure what Xiao Yi is hiding, I have a feeling. This might surpass our expectations."
"Oh, Mr. Xindela, it’s an honor to meet you!" Xiao Zhong and Dragon Gate Crane straightened up.
They had heard Li Chengyi mention before that Xindela was indeed a man worthy of respect for his actions and dealings.
Both took turns shaking hands with Xindela.
"Let’s get going, the appointed time is almost upon us," Xiao Zhong reminded.
"I’ll enter by myself; you guys wait outside," Xindela ordered the rest of his group, then pressed a button on his wheelchair and rolled forward.
The remaining cars in the back all contained the assistants and bodyguards he had brought with him.
The three of them entered the gate one after another.
Rainbow Candy and Da Xiong were dressed in ancient-style white gowns, holding a large water jug, watering the flowers in the garden.
"Where’s Brother Cheng?" Dragon Gate Crane looked around but did not see Li Chengyi.
"Inside. He said to join him once everyone was gathered," Da Xiong replied with a smile.
"I don’t know what’s got everyone acting so secretive." Rainbow Candy tossed down the water jug and brushed her hands off.
"Let’s go. Once everyone’s here, we’ll go inside."
She led the way, and Da Xiong, after politely greeting Xindela, took the initiative to help push the wheelchair.
Dragon Gate Crane and Xiao Zhong followed behind.
The five of them walked along the winding paths within the botanical garden, weaving between greenhouses.
They quickly arrived at a slope blanketed with brilliantly purple-red flowering trees.
Li Chengyi was under the trees, his back to them, his hand gently touching the purple-red petals, as if observing something.
Drones and signal jammers had already been strategically dispersed around the area.
Staff members of the botanical garden had also been given temporary leave.
The entire garden was almost entirely under the temporary control of Rainbow Candy’s AI.
"It looks like everyone has arrived," Li Chengyi said as he turned around, his gaze first falling on Xindela.
"Boss, I’m sorry for calling you back from so far away," he apologized.
"I trust you have your reasons," Xindela said earnestly.
"Brother Cheng, we’re all prepared for the journey there. Just let us know what the urgency is. Having decided to walk this path, we were ready for it from the beginning," Da Xiong articulated clearly.
Rainbow Candy didn’t speak, just unusually calm, looking at him as if waiting for something.
Xiao Zhong was patient as ever, also waiting.
Li Chengyi’s gaze swept over their faces one by one.
"Actually, it’s just a small matter," he said, suddenly smiling.
"I’ve requested the faction behind the Thug to especially create for you all a corresponding set of biological exoskeletons that can be brought into the Blind Spot for use."
"Isn’t that technology a patent from Sutan? But it’s not yet perfected and the strength it can provide isn’t much, right?" Rainbow Candy evidently had researched the industry before. Her Life Garment was similar equipment.
