Blind Spot -
Chapter 153 - 143 Blue Book Four
Chapter 153: 143 Blue Book Four
Sima Gui looked at Song Ran.
The latter nodded slightly, having confirmed through the environmental investigation expert that there indeed had been recent human activity in the area.
"What should we do now? Mr. Mu, please give us a direction. The boss has been in a coma for two days. To prevent his bodily functions from declining, we must resolve this matter as soon as possible," Song Ran said.
"It’s simple. This place is an ancient tomb, and there are many dangers inside. I’ve tried to enter before, but to no avail, as I was forced to retreat. So, you need to completely clear out Jackal Cave!"
Mr. Mu said earnestly.
"He Bing is likely living inside Jackal Cave. We have checked, and the most recent human activity was an hour ago, which means that He Bing is probably still inside. So... ladies and gentlemen, if we want Mr. Xindela to wake up, we must catch He Bing as soon as possible and find out the method of disconnection! Then we need to get the Blue Book!"
"Then let’s get started," Song Ran said in a grave tone.
Simply opening a hole was nothing to them.
Without a word, the group donned their gear and began to slowly enter through the mouth of Jackal Cave.
However, none of them noticed the fleeting change of color in Mr. Mu’s eyes.
Not long after.
Bang bang bang bang!
Suddenly, a series of gunshots echoed from within the cave, followed by screams over the walkie-talkies.
"What is that!!? What is ambushing us!!"
"Watch your back!!"
"Light! Turn up the lights!!"
Amid screams, the first group of explorers continuously fired their guns, apparently encountering some creature’s attack.
Soon, after about ten seconds.
There was complete silence over the walkie-talkies.
The company supervisor in charge of coordination shouted into the walkie-talkie, but there was no response from the other end.
"What happened!? What is inside there!?" Song Ran turned fiercely toward Mr. Mu, his expression ugly.
A team of six, all elite forest explorers hired by the company, wiped out from an ambush without even lasting a full minute.
What did that imply?
"It should be He Bing’s self-defense mechanism. Do you think he’s a harmless commoner to have survived in the Blind Spot for so long?" Mr. Mu said coldly.
"Then let’s use explosives!" Song Ran’s face darkened.
"No! The Blue Book has a physical form. What if it’s also inside, and you destroy it? Will you be responsible!? Do you still want your boss to wake up?" Mr. Mu loudly objected.
"Send in the Reinforced Humans! Suit up with full exoskeletons!" he looked at the two Semi-Cyborgs sent from the company’s team.
"It’s too dangerous in there, our agreed price doesn’t apply anymore," the two of them said to Song Ran.
"Double it!" Song Ran grated through clenched teeth.
"Not enough," they shook their heads.
"Send in the robots first!" the environmental investigation expert on the side reminded.
"Right!" Song Ran quickly agreed, nodding vigorously.

Li Chengyi stood at the entrance of Wolf Cave, eyes closed, sitting cross-legged.
After a while, a faint sensation of dizziness flashed through his mind.
He knew it had arrived.
He slowly opened his eyes.
He was still standing at the entrance of Wolf Cave.
But the cave before him seemed a bit different from before.
The pitch-black interior was no longer completely dark, but now had a faint blue light shining through.
Li Chengyi turned around to look behind him.
Looking down from a high point, the forest behind him was shrouded in a light mist of ash.
In the distance, Yunshan County Town was faintly visible.
But that town... to Li Chengyi’s eyes, it was deserted, the buildings and houses seemed as though they had been constructed for decades, if not a century—old and in ruins.
"Brother... this place... is so cold," Yserine’s voice came from behind him.
Li Chengyi started, then remembered that Heserine had also come out with him.
And Yserine still remained in the Tightening Grasp Blind Spot.
He turned to look back and saw Yserine wearing a black lace princess dress with a black ruffled large brim hat, looking exquisitely cute yet mysterious.
"What do you mean?" he asked.
"Over there." Yserine pointed towards the distant Yunshan County Town, "It’s really cold there. It feels like some of the highly dangerous Blind Spots."
"Are you saying... that Yunshan County Town, the entire town area, is a Blind Spot?" Li Chengyi asked in surprise, focusing on the question.
Heserine understood the language of Yi Country, making communication much easier than before.
She nodded her head.
"It does resemble one, but I’m not sure. I’ve never been here before."
"What about behind us?" Li Chengyi turned, looking towards Wolf Cave.
"Behind us..." Heserine looked towards Wolf Cave, also noticing the faint blue light inside. "This place... feels even stranger."
Her small face furrowed tightly.
"The aura is mixed, cold, burning hot, foul-smelling, fragrant, a mess of scents mixed together... I don’t recommend brother goes in."
"So should I go out and explore that town instead?" Li Chengyi asked.
When it came to Blind Spots, Heserine likely knew more than he did.
"No.... Not that way, either. The spot where we’re standing now is the only one connected to reality. Move forward or backward, and you’ll enter another blind spot," Heserine shook her head.
"Which is more dangerous? Can you feel it?" Li Chengyi asked.
"...." Heserine closed her eyes. After several seconds, she decisively pointed toward the county town.
"There, it’s very dangerous! It’s safer to enter the cave."
This answer surprised Li Chengyi.
The Wolf Cave right before them seemed like an extremely dangerous blind spot, while the distant Yunshan County Town, which he had just come from, had given him no sense of any blind spots.
Otherwise, he might have Flashed into one on the way.
But now... Heserine was saying the county town was more dangerous.
That was odd.
"It’s a fusion blind spot, and... there are clear traces of guidance. It appears only at specific times, very much like it’s man-made," Heserine replied.
Although she looked young, her mind was that of an adult in her forties, as she retained all her dark history memories. Only Yserine still had the fragmented memories from before, holding on to her original naivety.
"You know about fusion blind spots too?" Li Chengyi said.
"Yes, these blind spots vary in size. Everything the other me experienced while hiding under the bed, I remember," Heserine nodded, "The fusion of blind spots requires many detailed conditions, and also commonalities."
Li Chengyi suddenly realized. But his purpose for this trip was to investigate his boss’s coma, to find the Blue Book his boss had read. So, for now, he didn’t have time to deal with the secrets of Yunshan County.
"Let’s enter the cave first."
He looked at the Wolf Cave in front of him, lifted his foot, and stepped forward into the darkness.
Heserine looked back at the county town, now hidden in the gray mist, and then turned into a dark shadow, merging into the shadows behind Li Chengyi.
The cave was dark, lit only by a faint blue glow, weakly illuminating the outlines around them.
The ground was steep, covered in piles of rocks of various sizes.
There was no path; they could only move further inside by stepping on the tops of stones.
The cave walls on both sides were layers of rock that resembled the pages of a book, and under the blue light, the patterns that emerged looked like countless blue worms, squirming and changing shape.
Coupled with the increasingly chilly atmosphere, even Li Chengyi, who was enveloped in a Radiance Field, felt a hint of cold.
They walked along the winding path of the cave for a few minutes.
Soon, an oval pool emitting a blue glow came into view.
The pool was about three meters wide, four meters long, like an egg set into the ground.
Inside, the faint blue water incessantly churned, rippling with the breeze.
"This is the Blue Cave," Li Chengyi whispered.
"What are you looking for, brother?" Heserine asked from behind.
"The Blue Book," Li Chengyi answered.
"The Blue Book? That is..." Heserine didn’t finish her sentence when suddenly her small face changed.
"Be careful, brother!!"
Boom!!
As soon as her words finished, the entire Blue Cave began to spin violently, a massive pulling force dragging everything towards it.
The air twisted, and the rocks on the ground trembled.
Li Chengyi was nearly pulled off his feet, but luckily he stabbed his Golden Sword into the ground in time, anchoring himself firmly.
But the immense force continued to drag half of his body towards the Blue Cave, until he was nearly aloft.
Fortunately, this pulling force didn’t last long; it subsided after just a few dozen seconds.
Li Chengyi pulled the Golden Sword out of the ground, stood up, and exhaled.
"That was close."
"Brother, there are many words appearing on the wall!" Heserine’s voice quickly brought him back to reality.
Li Chengyi looked up, intending to switch on his phone’s light, but the phone was entirely unresponsive.
The technological suppression in this blind spot must be very high.
Or rather, it should not be called suppression, but a difference in fundamental rules, which caused such precise devices to fail completely.
The two could only examine the traces on the walls around them using the faint blue light.
At that moment, heedful of Heserine’s prompt, Li Chengyi truly saw that the walls around him, following the outburst from the Blue Cave, had rows of words the size of human heads.
However, these words were not of any language he recognized.
"What are these words?" he tried to ask Heserine.
"This is Black Sea Script," Heserine responded, "The blind spots are vast beyond count, but among them are some communicative entities. To interact, they jointly created the Black Sea Script."
"Do you understand it?" Li Chengyi suddenly realized that Heserine might be a treasure, one deeply knowledgeable about blind spots.
"I understand a bit. I learned some out of boredom," Heserine nodded. "But don’t get your hopes up with me, and don’t expect there to be communicative entities in the blind spots. Many of them aren’t human, lack emotions, and some are just so weird that they are utterly incomprehensible. Being able to speak doesn’t mean communication is possible. Even their forms of existence, you may not understand."
"Can you describe them?"
"Perhaps if there’s a chance later. Let me first see what’s written here...." Heserine approached the cave wall, carefully examining it under the blue light.
The head-sized characters looked like they were written with charcoal, exuding a rugged, primitive vibe.
"It seems to be information about the Blue Book," she read with some difficulty.
"The Blue Book!?" Li Chengyi’s spirits lifted, and he moved behind Heserine, waiting for her to continue interpreting.
"Marked with blood..."
"Recorded with dreams...."
"Echoed with bodies...."
"And the book... records God."
"With ninety-nine human lives, one can unlock the script of the Blue Book, gain the Black Sea Ritual Text, and receive the chance to communicate and make a wish to the deity within the Black Sea!"
"Wait, wasn’t the Blue Book written by Wu Guangcheng a hundred years ago?" Li Chengyi’s expression grew solemn.
"I don’t know... but at the end there is a signature. The original name of the Blue Book is called the Lan Meng Mountain Master’s Book of Unusual Knowledge," Heserine read the original title.
