Chapter 85: Chapter 85 - Starfall Showdown Tournament Part 3

Zion’s team was taken to a forest with trees so high they blocked the sky. It was quiet, too quiet, and everything around them was obscured by the overgrown flora, making it hard to traverse normally.

On the outside of the fracture, a crystal in the center of the stage shone bright blue, projecting a screen into the air for everyone to see what was going on in the fracture.

"Amazing! What is that?" Everyone wondered, even the leaders wondered what that was.

"Oh, that, it’s something my son created." Zalneena smiled. "It’s called a video screen, it allows for one to view what’s happening in real time. It’s similar to the crystal balls used for calling, but this time, it captures both sound and picture."

"I was amazed when she first brought it to me," Zircon admitted. "I thought it would be perfect for events like this. Now, the entire kingdom can watch."

"I have to have a chat with your son, Zaleena. That piece of technology right there is revolutionary." Being a dwarf, Bromit was fascinated by such a piece of technology, and he wanted to know how it was made right now.

Back in the forest, Zion and his team cut a path for themselves, slowly but surely making their way through the dense forest.

"It will be hard finding and fighting monsters in this area. We should get out of here quickly." Kaitlin said, hacking away at vines.

"Why don’t we burn this place to the ground?" Lars suggested.

"That would be efficient." Luna agreed

"No! We would be caught up in the fire, and it would spread like crazy!" Eliza probably had some bias since she was a wood elementalist and she was in her element right now, but what she said did make sense.

"We can worry about that after we fight. It seems like we have company." Zion looked around, spotting hundreds of goblins, hobgoblins, and trolls.

"Of course, we get weak monsters!" Kaitlin complained.

"Doesn’t matter, there are hundreds of them, those are points," Lars said, leaping into action.

"Eliza, hold them back with your wood magic. Luna, stay close to Eliza and protect her if needed. Kaitlin, let’s go have some fun."

"Oh, Zion, you’ve read my mind." Kaitlin lunged at a troll, stabbing it in both eyes as she used her blade to slice the monster into pieces.

Lars darted around the area, chopping off the heads of every goblin and hobgoblin before they could react.

[Rain of Stars] is a spell Luna had cast that created a cloud of mana that rained down magical energy, killing each monster it touched on impact as it tore through their flesh.

Eliza, doing as Zion ordered, controlled nature and forced the trees, vines, and plants to aid them in their battle, squeezing the monsters until they popped like balloons and strangling them with vines around their neck.

Zion flew into the air, getting an aerial view of the area below.

’Locate and target every monster there. Also, scan the area and see where the forest starts and stops.’

[Locating.....457 monsters detected. 248 is only available to target.]

’Lock on to those 248 monsters.’

[Locking on.]

’Nice.’ With a grin, Zion held out his hands, and his fingertips shone a golden light. "Starlight Ray Part 1: Divine Light." With a reverberating sound, 248 beams of light shot from Zion’s fingers at unreal speeds, twisting and turning as they pierced through every monster that was locked on.

Although the name of his spell has ’Divine’ in it, it didn’t use one bit of divine or holy power. He just thought the name sounded cool.

’As soon as a monster dies, lock on to another one.’

[Locking on. Locking on. Locking on. Locking on.]

The beams of light didn’t disipate after reaching their target, instead, they kept moving, humming through the air as Zion directed them to their next target.

Back at the arena, everyone was impressed by Zion’s showing of power, fascinated by his precise control over his mana.

After about two minutes, all 457 monsters were killed.

"Woah, way to show off Zion." Lars punched his arm playfully.

Luna was expressionless as usual. "That was very efficient and saved us a lot of energy."

"Save some for me next time." Kaitlin smiled

Eliza drank some water. "At least I don’t have to work as hard now."

[Forest scanned. It stretches to about 2 million acres.]

’Can you make a force field that large?’

[I can.]

’Good. We’ll burn this entire forest to the ground and not let anything escape or enter.’ On one hand, he launched a beam of light towards one direction and his his other hand, he did the same in the opposite direction.

In those beams of light were small pieces of technology that would encompass the forest from one end to the other using a field of energy. He used his mana to mask the presence of the technology.

"You guys, we’re leaving. I’m burning the forest to the ground." As Zion said this, the force field started to rise.

"What? We’ll be trapped here." Eliza argued

"Don’t worry about that. Just trust me."

"I trust you." Lars nodded

"I will go along with anything you say," Luna said.

Kaitlin shrugged her shoulders. "Whatever, as long as you have a plan."

"Good. Hold on tight." Zion rocketed into the air, using his mana to grab and hold his teammates as well. The rose so high that they were able to see the entire forest from end to end.

"What do you plan to do?" Kaitlin asked

"Just watch." In both hands, metal rods were formed from the metal element. In those rods were micro bombs powerful enough to not only blow up the area, but set it ablaze as well.

The forcefield kept rising until it stopped, leaving a small gap for Zion to throw the metal rods in.

"Let’s do this!" Each swing of his arm thrusted the rod faster than the speed of sound, reaching the ground with a mighty boom, the impact alone altering the terrain. The rods started pulsing a red color, and flaps opened on the rods, releasing micro bombs into the air.

After all the bombs were in the air, the force field closed completely, and the rods exploded in a blazing glory, setting off the micro bombs as a chain reaction.

"There it is, our point generator," Zion said, smiling.

"Woah, that’s some major firepower. Not even I can dual-cast like that." Lars thought Zion was dual-casting the metal and fire elements while making the fire explode, which was impressive for an aura user since they didn’t use magic.

Zion then turned in the direction that led away from the forest. "With this, we can leave the area and search for more monsters. Nothing will be able to get in or out of that barrier."

"Let’s go then." Kaitlin ueged.

"What now?" Eliza asked

Zion grinned maniacally, "Hehehehe! Have you ever heard of the word ’Sabotage’?"

"Oh no, you are thinking what I think you’re thinking, right?" Kaitlin asked with a worried expression.

But Zion didn’t answer. He continued to hold his teammates as he rocted off to find the nearest team that he could fuck with.
