Chapter 71: Chapter 71 - School’s back on
A few days had passed since then, and Lidia had been cooped up in Zion’s room, not leaving to talk to or engage with anyone. She barely talked to Zion, only looked for his comfort when she needed him, and slept in his bed when it was time to sleep.
Aurora was the only person who was able to talk to Lidia. Not because she allowed it, but because of how persistent Aurora was. Even when she was told to go away, she didn’t listen and clung to Lidna like a child holding its mother.
"Zion said everything should be okay, so don’t worry." Aurora tried her best to cheer up Lidia. "He even talked about how you have the potential to be even stronger than you normally are."
"Zion always sees things that break convention as a fascinating discovery. Do you see the shit he does in his labs? He doesn’t know how deeply this is affecting me. Like, imagine if I am related to demons. Me, no, my whole family would be in danger. The whole world would be after us."
"Zion would protect you."
"Do you think he has the means to fight off against the entire world?" Lidia asked, looking up at Aurora as she lay on her lap.
"Yes," Aurora said confidently.
"Okay, maybe, but still. You get my point."
"I do. I remember when I was being bullied at the academy. Those girls would force me to do their work and be their errand girl. If I didn’t do or get the result they wanted, I would get beaten. But after I met Zion, I learned something."
"What did you learn?"
"I learned that sitting around sulking isn’t going to help me. Sure, I got help from Zion, but I didn’t have to put what he taught me into practice. But because I did, I’m now stronger than ever. I’m able to stand up against any person who tries to pick on me."
"So what do you want me to do? Get stronger so I can protect myself and my family?"
"No, just do what you can, and don’t let this discovery eat you alive." Aurora smiled
"Do," Lidia paused for a moment. "Do you think Zion wouldn’t like me as much if I were related to demons? I mean, we are fighting against them after all."
"I can’t say for sure, but I don’t think Zion is the type of guy to throw you away simply because you’re related to demons. And besides, if he were going to, he would have done so by now. Also, we don’t know for sure if you are related to demons, so don’t beat yourself u,p okay?"
"Sighhhh, you’re right, sulking in bed isn’t going to do anything. I can’t let something like this hold me down. Say, do you know where Zion is?"
"I think he’s in the training hall."
"Great! Let’s go."
---
"Ughhh!!" Crystal moaned in pain as she was elbowed in the face.
"Get up!" Zion demanded. "This isn’t like a battle between mages where you can wait for your opponent to cast their spells. When you’re up against a martial artist, you need to constantly be on your feet, aware of the situation, and already planning your next moves and counterattacks."
"Can you take it easy? I just started learning all of this!" Crystal complained, holding her now broken nose.
"Up, now!"
"Hyaaa!" She lunged at Zion with an open palm strike, only for him to easily avoid it and kick her in the stomach.
She rolled on the ground and got up as quickly as she could, but as soon as she regained her footing, she was kicked in the face and was sent slamming into the wall.
"Hrrrrggggg!!!" In a fit of rage, Crystal cast three icicle spells, all aimed at Zion’s chest, but being who he is, two casual swipes of his hands broke the icicles into bits and pieces, and he grabbed the last one, flinging it into her stomach.
Crystal barely had time to react before feeling her abdomen get impaled. "ARGHHHHHH!!!"
"Karma bitch." Zion sighed, shaking his head.
"What’s going on here?" Lidia asked, smiling at the sight of her beloved
"Just training Crystal in martial arts." He leaned in, giving Lidia a kiss as well as Aurora, who tagged along.
"Mmmm. So why is she impaled onto the wall with an icicle in her stomach?"
"We were supposed to be using only aura and martial arts, but she got upset and used magic on me. I gave it back to her, though."
Lidia chuckled, "Heh, ’gave it back.’"
"So, are you okay?" He asked, holding her in his arms
"No, but doing nothing isn’t going to help."
"Indeed. Why don’t we run some tests and see what kind of demon one of your ancestors fucked."
"I bet it’s a succubus, seeing how I have you wrapped around my finger." Lidia teased, lifting her leg onto Zion.
"Mmm, I like the sound of that." Leaning in, Zion was about to indulge in his cardinal desires, even grabbing Aurora by the waist to give her some attention, but he was interrupted by Lacey.
"Young Master, your aunt requests your presence."
"Now?"
"Yes."
"Ugh, fine, okay. Sorry ladies, come to my room tonight, I’ll give you both the time of your lives. Oh, and help that poor lady over there, thanks." He motioned to Crystal, who was still struggling to get unstuck, blood rushing down her body.
---
"You called?" Zion asked, entering his aunt’s personal room she had in his mother’s mansion.
"The academy is opening back up in three months," Raven informed.
"What?! I thought the entire school year was going to be canceled!"
"The king doesn’t want it to seem like the demons are in control, so he’s allowing school to resume in three months. This also means the tournament between nations is still on and you’ll have to compete in it."
"Ugh, fine! But what about the demons and demonic humans?"
"The entire Royal Army will still be active during this time. Even the Arion inquisitorial will be aiding the army. Also, some key members of the magic tower, knights order, and academy will also aid in this search."
"Fucking tournament. I’ll beat those damn dragons."
Raven looked at him as if he had lost his mind. "Woah, slow your horses. Dragons aren’t pushovers."
"I know. They are the only race in the middle realm that can actually contend with demons."
"That’s right. A dragon in the Advanced stage would be able to contend with a human in the master stage at the bare minimum. That only includes their mana and not the overwhelming physical strength they naturally possess."
"Yeah, yeah, cool. Anyway, after the tournament, I’m going to take on the tomb of the first headmaster to obtain the ancient relic, so prepare any information you have on that place so I won’t be going in blind."
"Oh, is it that time already?"
"No, but after recent events, I had to make changes to my timeline. It’s unfortunate, but it was always a factor I considered. Well, not demons, just the adjustment of my timeline of events."
"Well, consider what you asked for done, I’ll have everything you need within the week." Raven smiled
"Great, you’re the best. I’ll see you later."
"Aren’t you forgetting something?" She asked
"Uhh, no?" Zion opened the door and left the room, only to be teleported back into the room, tripping and falling onto something. "Oh fuck!"
This time, however, he didn’t fall on his nose but instead landed on something soft and squishy.
"Mmm, I’ve always liked having you in between my boobs." Raven smiled, lifting up Zion’s head for a deep, passionate kiss.
"We haven’t done that in a while." Zion chuckled.
"Indeed, we haven’t. Now get out of here before I lose my composure and give you the best time of your life."
"Hey, I’m down if you are. Besides, we haven’t done it in a whi-" He was teleported out of the room before he could finish and landed directly on his face.
"MOTHER FUCKER!"
