Blade of the Goddess -
Chapter 252
Chapter 252: Chapter 252
Walking into the Royal Hall were Lidia, Lacey, and Ginger. Everyone else was on standby in case anything happened, not that they were worried.
Each of them walked with a confidence that made the dwarves shiver in their seats. They didn’t show any of their power, their carefree expressions, powerful strides, lack of guards, and how young they were made the Dwarves question their chances if they decided to attack.
Still, the thought of Alcohol sounded great, especially the ones that came from the Holy Kingdom.
Everyone knew that the Holy Kingdom was comprised of the Astir Kingdom, the place where they traded with Zion’s companies to get the amazing Liquor they drink, so they were looking forward to what the girls brought.
"Greetings, your majesty." Lidia and Ginger bowed together.
Lacey was wearing a skirt, so she curtsied instead.
"Lidia Brightburn! Welcome. I recognize you. I’m friends with your father, Victor." Bromir smiled, trying to make conversation.
However, Lidia waved him off. "That isn’t relevant in this conversation."
"Ahem, forgive me. Please, speak. What brings the Holy Empire here?"
"Of course." Lidia took a seat while Lacey and Ginger stood behind her, acting as bodyguards.
"You see, the holy empire is currently on a mission to unite the whole continent under one main rule and doctrine. We’ve already united all of Midgard, Alfheim, and Cernunnos. This only leaves Nidavellir and Hylaea."
Everyone gulped.
"And may I ask why your leader is trying to unite the continent? We’ve been fine for generations before. I don’t see a reason to go this far if your goal is to become equals or be one people. Many people led conquests in the past, and they all failed."
Lidia chuckled. "I don’t doubt that at all. But this time, things are different. A war is coming, one that will reshape the entire world. So, Zion thought it would be best to unite everyone so we can have a chance at surviving."
"By also converting religions and worshiping another god?" One man asked
"Yes!" Lidia smiled.
"I refuse! Lord Ivaldi has been great to us! We have no reason to abandon him!"
She shrugged. "Well, that doesn’t matter to us. If you don’t wish to comply, then we’ll force you to. Zion said you all aren’t strong enough to do anything anyway."
"What?!"
"Excuse me?!"
"How dare you insult our people!"
"Hey, hey, hey, I’m just the messenger. If anything, go and bitch about this to Zion, haha."
Bromir silenced everyone. "What are you proposing? Surely you have an offer?"
Lidia smiled. She motioned with her fingers, telling Lacey and Ginger to bring the items they had brought.
From Lacey’s ring popped out a file that contained unfinished blueprints for many machines that Zion knew the dwarves would eat up. But he purposely left them unfinished and didn’t even have every part of the blueprint. Just enough to make them want more.
And from Ginger’s storage ring came a large barrel of alcohol. Some of the best alcohol from Zion’s old world. Margarita.
"These are the gifts we’re providing you. Please, indulge in them." She snapped her fingers and wine cups appeared in the air. She poured the drink into them and passed them to every person in the hall.
"Woah!"
"Do you see the texture?"
"That aroma!"
"It’s beautiful."
They all took a sip, and their mouths exploded with flavor.
A/N: [I don’t drink Alcohol, so I’m not even going to try and explain what they’re tasting. So I’m leaving it at that lol.]
"This....This is amazing!"
"Another cup!"
"More!"
"What is this brew?"
"Please, I would like some more!"
"Slow down there, shorties, that was just a sample of what we’re offering. Here, take a look at these." Lidia tossed them the blueprints.
The moment the dwarves’ eyes locked on them, their inner engineer went into overdrive. They couldn’t believe what they were seeing. The craftsmanship, the technology, the way the blueprints were drawn, everything was out of this world.
"A blade that uses a different energy source that isn’t mana or mana stones? How is this possible? Are you all trying to insult us?" A dwarf asked
"Of course not. Please, take a look." Lidia pulled out her photon blade and showed it off to everyone.
Usually, when a person activates a weapon made of mana or uses mana stones as a catalyst, a surge of mana will spread through the air, no matter how subtle it is. But the photon blade that Lidia was showing off didn’t do that.
"N-No way!"
"It’s real?!"
"T-Then, what about this? A metal craft that can fly in the air without spells or magic circles! Is that possible? Do you have something like that as well?"
Luckily, there was a large window in the Royal Hall, so Lidia told them to look outside.
There, they saw a helicopter start its propellers and lift into the air.
Again and again, the dwarves asked more and more about the blueprints, and Lidia showcased everything they asked for.
"Wait, these prints, they aren’t complete." A dwarf noticed
"Not only that, they are also missing parts and steps."
Lidia nodded. "That’s right. We can outright give you these plans, now, can we? These are meant for people a part of the Holy Empire. Are you all a part of the holy empire?"
Everyone grumbled and had to think hard about their next course of action. But before they could, Lidia showed them one last thing.
"Finally, take a look at this." She handed them a chart of the human body.
"What’s this?" Bromir asked.
"It’s a chart of the inner workings of a person’s mana pathways. You see, our Empire has figured out a way to not only increase a person’s overall strength and mana capacity, but also allow them to use aura and magic at the same time. But that’s not even the best part. This mana method can also allow someone to successfully break through to the Mystic Stage."
Everyone froze.
In this current age, people were content with not being able to break through to the Mystic stage and truly believed that only Dragons could do it. So, they instead focused their attention on making the existing stages even stronger.
However, what Lidia showed them just changed everything. Not only could they get stronger naturally, but they could also achieve the lost realm they were trying to achieve for thousands of years. It was too great an opportunity to pass up.
"I-Is this true? Has it been proven?" Ergir asked, swelling down hard.
Lidia smiled, activating her power. Lacey and Ginger did the same.
No matter how strong a person was, you would still know what stage of power they were in, even if they were able to boost their strength beyond comprehension. Bromir had broken through to the transcendent stage a while ago, and he knew what a transcendent would feel like, no matter how weak or strong they were.
But the moment he felt the power coming off of the three girls, he knew they were in a league of their own.
