Blade of the Goddess -
Chapter 250
Chapter 250: Chapter 250
Zion opened his eyes, his body sore and aching from his recent transformation. It took a bit for him to adjust to his new body and level of power, his new level of being, subconsciously, that is. He stretched his limbs, took a deep breath, and then turned to the two goddesses who were staring at him.
"So, did it work? I feel different, but I can’t place a finger on it, though."
The sisters couldn’t help but laugh at his question. Here he was, radiation divine/Devil energy like crazy, and he was asking if the process worked? Was his senses malfunctioning or something?
So, Luminera decided to give him a test. "I don’t know, but come here for a second, I need you to see this."
He nodded, not suspecting anything, and walked over to her.
"There," She pointed down toward the planet. The clouds opened up, and it was as if the floor they were standing on became a screen that showed everything that was going on in the middle world.
There, he saw his people currently occupying the Dwarven kingdom, silently preparing it for their takeover. Zion watched all of this without batting an eye.
"Do you see your organization?" She asked
"Yeah," Zion responded.
"We need to hurry up and get the ancient relic there. While they’re doing a good job preparing for you, we need to speed things up." She stated, glancing at Zion to catch his reaction.
He nodded in agreement. He would have expected them to fully occupy the place, not wait in the shadows. But they were probably waiting for him to arrive, which was fair.
"Yeah, cool, I’ll see to it." He nodded.
"Pwahahahahaha! No way! There’s actually no way!" Erebosa could help herself. She fell to the floor, dying of laughter at Zion’s cluelessness.
"What?" He asked, glaring at her in slight annoyance.
Luminera also couldn’t help but chuckle a bit. "Zion, you just looked down at the world from the heavenly realm."
He nodded slowly, not understanding why that was such a big deal. "Yeah, so?"
She chuckled again. "Only divine beings can do that. Primordials, Titans, Gods," She then looked at Zion. "And demigods."
Finally, Zion caught on. He looked at Luminera, then down at the world, then back at Luminera, then back at the world. Finally, he looked at his body and saw that he was sparkling.
"I’m sparkling! Why am I sparkling? Is...Is that a divine thing? Ohhhhhhh gosh! This is...Phew....this is kind of insane!"
"There it is!" Erebosa grinned. "That was the reaction I was expecting when you first woke up. Go ahead, feel your power, your essence, your divinity, your authority."
Zion closed his eyes and did what Erebosa said. And boy was he shocked. His mana was completely replaced with divine energy, but it still functioned the same way, as he was still able to cast spells.
What completely changed, though, was his holy and demonic power. They were both gone, now replaced with Divine and Infernal energy, the true version of those powers.
But that wasn’t all. Zion could feel it, the new power he had gained. It felt attached to him, like a limb. It felt like a part of his instincts or his senses. He couldn’t quite put his finger on it. However, he did know how to use it.
The authority of Light and Darkness.
Normally, while using those abilities, he would have to cast them as if he were casting a spell. This also made it so that he couldn’t do certain things with them. For example, he could only use light as an energy attack or hard constructs. But now, he could control all the light that exists. Not to the same scale as Luminera since he was only a demigod, but it was still an amazing ability to have. The same went for darkness.
"I’m a demigod now," Zion said in awe.
Luminera nodded. "That’s right. And you’ll be more powerful once you claim all the ancient relics. For now, you should-"
"How powerful am I?" He interjected.
"Wha...Uh....Really strong." She admitted
"How strong?!" He asked, no, demanded.
"Well, as you were previously, you reached the pinnacle of mortal strength. Now, you’re in the realm of the gods. So, compared to your past self, your power is like night and day."
Zion felt giddy. He wanted to test his new strength out. No, he needed to. There was no way he would be this powerful and not test it out.
His sinister eyes already started plotting ways to take advantage of his newfound power.
’Maybe I should invade the upper world again. No! I should go down to the demon world, and beat the shit out of Azmorath! Yeah! That sounds about right!’
"Stop." Erebosa interrupted his thoughts. "Whatever you’re thinking, stop thinking about it."
"But what if whatever I’m thinking about isn’t what you’re thinking about?" He asked
"Then I’ll have to think about what you’re thinking about."
"And if your thinking falls short of what I’m thinking?"
"Then I think that you’re just an amazing thinker."
"I think-"
"Shut the fuck up!" Luminera shouted.
Zion and Erebosa laughed.
"But in all seriousness, Zion, don’t think about attacking the upperworld or underworld. Focus on the task at hand first."
Zion made a chair to sit on. "Why? It’s not like anyone in the middle world can stop my forces. My weapons eclipse anything that this world has ever created. My people are filled with Mystic Rank beings. I’ve already united the majority of the continent, and my forces easily outnumber anything the dwarves or dragons can muster up."
"No, that’s not why I’m telling you to focus. It’s the Hylaea, the land of the dragons. The divine apostle is a problem."
"What? Did Bahamut dump a shit ton of divine energy in them or something?" He laughed.
"She’s a demigoddess."
Zion fell off his chair after he heard those words. He knew that she would be powerful and the strongest divine apostle that he would ever face. He even accepted the possibility of her wielding the divine relic of their land. But to be a demigod? That was not what he expected to hear out of Erebosa’s mouth.
He gulped. "H-How strong is she?"
"Zion. She’s been a demigod for thousands of years. If I’m not mistaken, she’s over 100,000 years old, and she’s been a demigod for at least half of that time. And when I say at least, it’s leaning in favor of her being one for an even longer period of time, not shorter.
Zion smiled wryly. He didn’t know if he should be scared or excited. He wanted to test out his new strength, but at his level, even his mother would be fodder.
’Nah, why would I be scared? She’s just another obstacle for me to remove. Nothing more, nothing less. In fact, the more I think about this, the more excited I become.’
"Don’t worry, you guys. She’s nothing to cry over. At the end of the day, she’s still killable, and that’s what I’m going to do, kill her."
A/N: [I completely forgot that Devil Energy/Power is Infernal energy lol. Welcome back, Infernal Energy.]
