Chapter 239: Chapter 239

Belwyn knew he had lost, and he knew there was nothing he could do to win. He didn’t even need to guess and knew his advisors were dead. And since Sylveth died as well, his kingdom will have no choice but to convert to worshiping Luminera.

While it pained him to acknowledge this new reality, he had no choice but to accept it. If he didn’t, he knew he was easily replaceable.

The king sighed, tired from the fighting and mental strain. "What are your demands?"

"It’s very simple, really." Snapping his fingers, Zion conjured a table for them to sit at.

"Do you have experience manipulating the masses?"

Belwyn looked at Zion as if he were a lost lamb. "I’m a king. That sort of thing is in my job description."

"Good. Things will go a lot easier then. Okay, so listen up. I know it will be hard trying to get your people to worship another god, but I can make things easier for you."

Belwyn nodded. "Please explain."

"You see, there is a demon lurking in your kingdom and a bunch of demon followers, demonic humans, well, demonic beastmen. They are here not only for the medallion, but also to corrupt the nexus pool you have here."

"What?!" Belwyn slammed his hands on the table while standing up. "How is this possible?! Ever since the attack in Midgard, I have made sure to drive away anyone who would even sympathize with those disgusting creatures!"

"Woah there, slow down, big fella! Not all demons are bad. Trust me, I was just in the demon world not too long ago. In fact, Angels are the real bitches."

"W-What? You were in the underworld?" The lion asked

Zion nodded. "Yeah, it’s not that different from this place actually. And when I mean this place, I mean the middle world. In fact, check this out."

With the swipe of his hand, everyone in the room was transported to the demon world.

Belwyn looked around, amazed, confused, and on edge. He saw people living their lives, just as the people in his kingdom were. The bloodthirsty creatures that his ancestors described were nowhere to be seen.

"Amazing." He had to admit.

"Zion? What are you doing here? Are you ready for your training?" NovelFire

Zion saw Lilith walking toward them as she had sensed him arriving.

"Oh shit! Gotta go!"

He waved his hand, and they all arrived back in the destroyed castle.

"Now," Zion cleared his throat. "About manipulating the masses."

A hand tore through space, grabbing Zion’s head and pulling him into wherever it led

"AHHHHHHHH!"

He disappeared.

"Anyway," Lacey continued.

"You’re just going to ignore that?" Belwyn asked

"He’ll be alright." Lidia chucked.

Lacey continued. "So basically, you’ll use these demons and demon followers in your land to make the people lose their faith in your god."

"How will I do that?"

"Your church. We’ll plant evidence that your Apostle was in cahoots with the demons while still being able to retain his connection to your god. This will make your people think that your god is also working with the demons."

Lidia then asked a question. "Have your people been attacked by demons sometime after the tournament?"

"Yes, a few times," Belwyn confirmed. "But it didn’t seem like they were trying to take this place over. After all, it took everything we had to fend them off."

The girls looked at each other and nodded. "Then this works in our favor. We’ll use those attacks to our advantage, telling the people that your Apostle was behind those attacks. We’ll also fill your church with demonic energy to further confirm this with the people, and say that the dome that was there was to protect everyone from demon attacks."

"What about the army? Aren’t my people attacking yours?" He asked

Lidia shook her head. "The battle has been over for a while, and you don’t need to worry about that since we already have that side covered."

Belwyn shook his head in disbelief. He couldn’t understand how they could casually fabricate a lie on this scale so casually. Still, he had no choice but to go along with their plan.

"And how would you claim to be the ’saviors?’" He asked

"It’s simple, really." Each of them showed off their holy power.

"We’ll purify the demonic energy, of course."

Belwyn was shocked once again. He didn’t know they had holy power.

"And for the demonic energy? Even if you can show that demons and demonic followers are in the kingdom, planting demonic energy will be hard since they most likely won’t agree with your plan."

’It’s not like they have access to demonic energy, right?’ He asked himself.

Unfortualy, he wished he hadn’t asked that question, even if it was in his head, because each of them showed off a purple-black energy that was clearly demonic energy.

"What the fuck?! How?!"

"Haha, look at him, he humped up like a scared cat. Even his tail is all poofy."

"We’ll explain later, but no, we are not demon followers. Just know that not all demons hate us middle worlders or want to take this place over. We’re on the good side, if you can call it that." Lacey explained.

Belwyn nodded, accepting reality. Even if he didn’t want to, he had no choice.

Just as their conversation came to an end, a rift in space opened, and Zion was thrown out of it.

"AHHHHHH--OOF!"

Everyone looked at him.

He stood up, brushing the dust off his pants. "Hey guys, what did I miss?"

"We already explained everything to him." Lidia laughed. "How was your conversation with Lilith?"

"Horrible. So, is everything ready?" He asked

"Yup."

"Sweet. Let’s get to work."

"Wait!"

Everyone tuned to Belwyn, wondering why he shouted when he could have used his inside voice. View the correct content at NovelFire.

"What, dude?"

"U-Um, do you know where that demon is? Don’t you need him?"

"Oh shit, I almost forgot about that. Good kitty, you’ll get your treats later. Ahem, BRING HIM IN!"

Four members of Heaven’s Bane teleported right in front of Zion, each of them a beastman. It was then that Belwyn learned the scope of Zion’s influence after seeing his people already working for Zion. And judging by their skill, they have been for a while.

Constricted without any opportunity to move, the demon Orvyn was on his knees, sweating profusely.
