Chapter 107: Chapter 107 - Attack of the Demons Part 7

"Ow." He groaned as he woke up, clutching his eye.

"Ahh, you’re up. Good. Listen, I have a few things to say before we part."

"I’m listening."

"First, congratulations, you’re now my true apostle. Second, you’ve completely bonded with the sword of forms. Be careful with its power, though, you’re still not strong enough to use its true potential. Third, once everything is settled, make your way to the Holy City of light. I’ll explain everything there. Lastly, the compass you had on you has fully merged with your soul."

"Wow. That’s amazing! Can I kiss you?"

"Sure."

"Yay."

"If you wanna die, that is." She smiled menacingly.

"Nooooo thanks." He turned around

"Okay, it’s time to go. Give them hell, my champion."

"You know I will."

Zion smiled and closed his eyes. Once he awakened, he was wielding the sword of forms in his hand, and holy power was coursing through his veins as he had become a true Divine Apostle.

---

"How much longer until the master is out of that room?" One of Zion’s men asked, cutting down a demonic human.

"Why are you asking me? I didn’t know he was here until Miss Ginger announced it." Another one said while shooting a demon with a pulsar ray-gun.

"Everyone, hold on! Zion should be out any second now!" She hoped. Even she was losing ground after fighting for a long time. She was strong, but she didn’t have infinite stamina.

Truthfully, it was Zion’s mana method and technology that kept them going for this long. He didn’t hold back information and power when it came to his subordinates, so after all testing was complete, he would have them learn his updated mana method and have them learn how to use the weapons he created.

This way, not only would people not get jealous of one another, but no one would have to climb the ranks.

Even in his ’Heaven’s Bane’ organization, the leaders of each division might not be the strongest or smartest members there. What qualified as a leader in his eyes was if they were able to lead and follow orders perfectly. And if there was a stronger or smarter subordinate, they would become the right hand of the division leader or be tasked with something else that would better suit their strength or intelligence.

No one was left out, so everyone felt welcomed and as if they had a purpose. And most importantly, everyone was treated fairly and with respect. Unless they were training or on a mission, there was no hierarchy, even with Zion himself.

"You shall not pass!" Ginger shouted as she planted her sword into the ground with all her might, sending currents of lightning that tore through the ground at her enemies.

Most of the enemies that were in the front died in an instant, and those in the middle were out of commission for a bit. However, those in the back charged forward with overwhelming strength.

"Dammit!" She cursed, getting ready to attack once more, but before she could, an arced beam of golden energy tore through the demons like paper. They didn’t simply die, they burned as golden flames engulfed their entire being, killing them down to their soul.

Zion burst from the tomb in a blaze of golden light, his hair shimmering like molten sunlight and a luminous cloak billowing behind him. He radiated a divine aura, power surging from him in waves that shook the air.

In his hand, he wielded a sword that gleamed with the same divine brilliance, for to bear any lesser blade would be a mockery of the power he now embodied.

Zion raised the radiant blade to his face, its divine energy pulsing so fiercely that nearby demons recoiled, their forms wilting under the sheer brilliance. Then, with a single, fluid sweep, the sword cleaved through them all, each one split cleanly in half before erupting into a storm of golden confetti.

"Holy shit!" Ginger yelled in shock.

"That was indeed holy." Zion laughed.

"What happened to you?" Ginger asked, confused about why he looked the way he did. Not that she was complaining.

"I’m officially a divine apostle now." He shrugged. "Speaking of which." He extended his hand, and all of his people were blessed by Luminera’s light, forever marked as one of her followers.

"All of you are not only my people, but followers of The Goddess of Light, Luminera. Spread and bring glory to her name, praise and worship her, as it was through her will that we were able to achieve the power we currently have!" Zion shouted to his men, his words laced with divine power.

"Yes! Sir!" Everyone said, standing at attention in front of their leader.

Ever since the beginning, Zion instilled into everyone that he was a follower of Luminera, so now, after seeing and feeling her power, they would do as he says without question, as they too had to become a follower of her as a condition to joining his organization.

"Now, time to handle that demon outside." He smirked, flying away as a beam of golden light."

---

"Once I get my hands on that bastard, I’ll make him lick my feet as I chain him in my dungeon!" Anastasia cursed as she blasted the barrier with blood, cracking it slowly.

She was powerful, more powerful than even Zion’s mother, so it was only a matter of when she would break the barrier, not if. And finally, after 20 minutes of consistently bombarding it with her most powerful spells, she finally broke through, only to be slashed in the chest by golden light.

"Arghhh!!!" She screamed, clutched her chest, feeling it burn more than it should have. She looked at her wound, noticing that it wasn’t healing properly, and instantly knew why. "Holy power." She cursed

"That’s right." Zion smiled, turning around to face her with his sword hanging on his shoulder. "And the power of the ancient relic."

"You!"

"Yes, me. Stop saying that." He rolled his eyes.

"That weapon belongs to us!" She dashed forward in the blink of an eye, blood pooling in her hand that formed a blood scythe.

She was fast, still faster and stronger than Zion, but it didn’t matter at this point. All of his power was enhanced and amplified by Luiminera’s divine energy, so when she came into contact with his mana field, she instantly caught on fire.

"Agh! How?!" She asked, her body still not healing properly.

"Magic." He laughed.

"You think that’ll stop me!" Summoning every ounce of power she had, Anastasia created hundreds of massive blood balls, rising into the air with her spell. Each blood ball had enough power to kill an ascendant stage cultivator, so hundreds of them were overkill for someone like Zion, but she wasn’t taking any chances.

"Heh, yeah, that’s how it should be." Following suit, he too cast a spell, one that belonged to his patron goddess.

A massive golden magic circle blazed to life in the air above Anastasia, its intricate runes pulsing with divine authority. The vampire froze, eyes wide, as the overwhelming pressure of holy power began to erode her demonic essence. With a thunderous cry, Zion invoked the spell—[Light of Luminera]. A colossal burst of sanctified energy descended like judgment itself, engulfing Anastasia completely and casting her screaming soul back to the underworld.

"Well, that’s done." Zion sighed with relief. However, something caught his attention. Anastasia’s body wasn’t destroyed.

"Are you fucking kidding me? She survives not only my laser but also an attack made entirely of holy power? How strong are these fucking demons?"

He drew his sword and rushed in to finish the job once and for all, but as he got closer, he noticed it. Her hair was different, her energy was different, and the demonic feeling she gave off was gone.

He held the woman up, examining her features, and then it clicked.

"Alice?!" He asked, his mind racing for an explanation

"Mmmm. Ughhh. Z-Zion?" She asked, slowly waking up.

"Alice! Alice, are you okay? What happened?!" He questioned, but then he snapped out of his confusion and remembered that he had a mission to complete.

"Ginger, come here now!" He ordered, and within 10 seconds, she arrived.

"You called?"

"Here, take her back home. It’s Alice."

"What?! You found her?" She asked, slightly surprised as she picked her up.

"Sort of. I’ll explain everything later. Have our men patch up the academy before returning to base. I have to go help the others."

"Understood."
