Chapter 104: Chapter 104 - Attack of the Demons Part 4
"Why is this cocoon so strong?" Drakoth wondered as he blasted it with as much power as he could.
Being at the pinnacle of strength, one could obtain, on top of being a dragon, his power wasn’t anything to scoff at. Instead, one should bow in his presence, as that was how powerful he was.
"Children! To me!" He demanded, his voice booming as his five children flew into the air.
"If one dragon isn’t enough, then how about 6?" Taurok said as he and his siblings transformed into their true forms.
They all channeled power into their throat, unleashing their most powerful attack, their breath attack. No matter how strong a spell was or how powerful their aura was, the breath attack was always the strongest attack in a dragon’s arsenal.
The two drakes, on the other hand, used their most powerful spells since they didn’t have breath attacks.
The cocoon was overwhelmed with power so great that simply being close to it could fry a person in an instant.
"It’s working!" Drakoth said as he saw cracks appear.
They kept unleashing their power until a small part of the cocoon cracked off.
Drakoth was the first to notice, but instead of feeling ecstatic, he was horrified as an eyeball glanced at him from within the cocoon.
"Kids! Get away from here now!" He yelled. But it was too late.
An overwhelming pressure crashed down on everyone who wasn’t a demon, pulverizing anyone below the Master stage into little more than a mangled puddle of flesh and blood.
"What the fuck?!" Zaleena gasped in shock.
"Ahh, Ahhhhh, he’s awakening! He’s coming!" Anastasia said with glee.
The cocoon continued to crack even more, chipped pieces falling out of the sky.
"Like hell I’ll let you descend here, you demonic bastard!" The breath attack that Drakoth charged up was so massive that his throat bulged to the point where it looked like it would burst. And the blast itself sent a heatwave over the entire kingdom that instantly vaporized water and made their place feel like the hottest place on the planet.
[Zion! I’m detecting a massive surge in demonic energy at the stadium!]
"No kidding! I feel that shit too!"
[I’m also picking up on activity at the Academy. It appears that some demons and demonic humans are after the relic!]
"Fuck! What’s going on today? Send a team to stop them with Ginger as their leader. How many satellites do we have in orbit?"
[Six. Five over each race’s kingdom and a sixth one that was meant as the ultimate weapon.]
"Align all six of them onto that cocoon, and when ready, fire at full power, mana and proton energy. Hold nothing back. I can feel that whoever is coming out is bad news."
[Aligning now. It should be about ten minutes until everything is ready.]
"Let’s hope we last ten minutes."
---
"Drakoth! Hurry up and destroy that thing!" Zaleena yelled, blocking an attack from Anastasia while Raven fired spells from behind.
"If I could, it would have been destroyed by now!" He yelled back, increasing the intensity of his breath attack.
Anastasia laughed uncontrollably as she swatted attacks out of her face. "It’s too late! He won’t be able to stop Gonrod from descending! You all will die!"
Making his way to the stadium as fast as he could, Zion could see what was going on in the distance. His senses were screaming at him, telling him to run away, but he didn’t listen.
"How much longer?!" He asked
[2 minutes until firing!]
In space, the six satellites moved into position, each charging to 200% capacity fueled by both mana and photon energy.
Five of the lasers—normally positioned over each kingdom—redirected their highly concentrated energy beams toward the sixth and most powerful one, flooding it with power and pushing it to a staggering 1,200% capacity.
The laser Zion used on the Larson estate wasn’t even the super laser he had; it was only the normal one. Now he was not only using the most powerful laser, but powering it up way past what would be considered safe for the environment.
The damage and destruction it would cause would be so catastrophic that it would be a miracle if the kingdom were only wiped off the map. That’s how powerful it was.
[30 Seconds until firing. Setting up the barrier to avoid unnecessary destruction]
Like before, pieces of Zion’s suit flew in four directions, planting themselves into the ground and projecting a massive barrier to contain the laser strike.
"MOTHER!" Zion yelled at the top of his lungs as he finally made it to the arena. "GET OUT! I’M BLOWING THIS PLACE UP!"
Zaleena and Raven looked around and saw the barrier that was erected around the entire stadium. Already knowing what was going to happen, Raven teleported everyone out with a massive display of teleportation magic, leaving only the demons and demonic humans inside.
"What’s happening?" Drakoth asked, wondering why he was teleported outside.
"Help me strengthen the barrier! Now!" Zion demanded, pouring his mana into the barrier to make it even stronger.
Zaleena and Raven did the same, and upon seeing them do this, the rest of the people there joined in, including Drakoth and his children.

"What’s going on?!"
[9]
"9"
"Why aren’t we stopping the demon?"
[8]
"8"
"Zion must have a plan."
[7]
"7"
"Trust him."
[6]
"6"
"Remember what happened at the Larson estate?" Zaleena asked
[5]
"5"
"That’s about to happen here. And from the looks of things, it’s gonna be much more catastrophic." Raven finished

"4"
"So that wasn’t your magic but a weapon?" Zircon asked.
[3]
"3"
"What weapon?" Drakoth asked
[2]
"2"
"You’re about to find out."
[1]
"1" Zion sighed. "Everyone, hold on."
The sky split.
A blinding column of light speared down from the heavens. The sixth superlaser, fed by the energy of five others, had reached critical mass, 1,200% capacity, and now unleashed its fury in a single, focused discharge that carved through the atmosphere like a sword of judgment.
The beam struck the center of the barrier with a detonation of light and sound so vast it transcended understanding. Clouds parted, evaporated, and then reformed into chaotic spirals as shockwaves tore through the sky. The very air vibrated, space itself screaming as pressure rippled outward. The ground miles beyond the barrier trembled, forests swayed as though caught in a storm, and mountains rumbled in protest.
Inside the barrier, the world ended.
Demons and demonic humans alike turned their gazes upward at the oncoming annihilation. They barely had time to comprehend it. In an instant, the light swallowed them, vaporizing everything it touched.
Anastasia, near the heart of the blast, let out a wordless cry as the light hit her. The skin along her arms cracked and seared, her blood wings burned to nothing, her body thrown and torn by the wave of pure destruction. But she lived. Somehow. She writhed within the storm of energy, her demonic body refusing to die, even as it shattered.
Outside the barrier, the defenders stood their ground.
Zion. Zaleena. Raven. Hanna. Reina. Melina. Zircon. Belwy. Bromir. Drakoth and his five children, and countless more warriors and mages, stood around the barrier, hands outstretched, pouring mana into the containment field. It shimmered with unbearable strain, cracks threatening to bloom with each second the beam continued. The light was so intense it scorched their hands, peeled flesh from fingers, and blackened palms. But none faltered.
They gritted their teeth, grunting through the pain. Some fell to their knees, but their arms stayed raised. Mana flowed like blood, raw and defiant.
From afar, soldiers and mages locked in battle stopped cold. Both humans and demons stared in dumbstruck silence at the beam tearing through the sky. It was not a weapon. It was a god’s wrath. The demons froze, eyes wide, unable to comprehend such power. The humans stood in awe, equal parts fear and relief etched across their faces.
The barrier held. And finally, after what felt like an eternity, the beam thinned. Then faded.
Smoke rose from the center of the blast zone, if it could even be called that anymore. The earth had been scorched down to bedrock. No trees, no corpses, no structures, just a crater of light and ruin. All within had been erased... except two beings.
Anastasia, who still clung to life, and the cocoon, unscathed and pulsing ominously in the heart of the devastation.
The world would never forget what it had just witnessed. And yet, even this destruction wasn’t enough.
Then, the worst happened. The barrier cracked, and a hand stretched out.
