Chapter 393: Chapter 208: You’re Transferred to be an Assistant in the President’s Office at Skyward Group

She dodged his gaze, "Like I’d miss you."

In the past two months for some reason, she really did think of him occasionally.

And every time she thought of him, she felt a sense of melancholy.

It’s probably because she owes him money; she doesn’t like being in debt to anyone.

Kay Forrest just smiled casually.

He took her to the entrance of a Western restaurant.

Jane Quinlan looked outside and wondered, "Are you really taking me out to eat?"

"Nonsense. A promise from a man is worth more than a chariot of horses. Would I lie to you? Get out of the car."

This place clearly looked luxurious. Jane followed him out of the car and they walked into the restaurant.

As soon as they entered, it was apparent that he was treated like a god here, almost worshipped.

The two found a quiet corner and sat down.

He took the liberty of ordering for both, not even giving her a chance to look at the menu.

He knew that if she saw the menu, she would definitely say she would pay him back for everything later.

After the waiter left, Jane leaned forward and whispered, "Are you really rich?"

"Do I not look the part?"

Jane shrugged her shoulders, "Mmm, you look more like an unemployed drifter."

"Have you ever seen an unemployed drifter as carefree as me?"

Jane thought for a moment, "So when you said you opened a company abroad back in Rongford, you were telling the truth?"

"What’s the fun in lying to them?"

Jane pouted, "Have you ever counted your assets?"

She held up a finger.

Kay Forrest looked at her without saying anything, and after a moment of hesitation, Jane said, "One hundred million."

He was sipping red wine, and when he heard her, he almost spit it out.

She was underestimating him.

Seeing her reaction, Jane shrugged and laughed, "Yeah, I was exaggerating. How could I just run into a billionaire? It’s not like everyone can start a company, but there’s no reason you can’t, right?"

Kay Forrest raised an eyebrow thankfully.

He found chatting with this woman genuinely enjoyable.

Because she always managed to make him laugh.

The steak was served, and she pursed her lips, "This is too small; even ten pieces wouldn’t fill me up."

Kay Forrest looked at her, and even the waiter was startled.

"Ten pieces? Are you sure?"

"Yeah, a bite per piece, no need to cut."

Kay Forrest nodded at the waiter, "Bring this lady ten servings, oh and put them in one container."

"Yes."

"No need, no need," Jane waved her hands, "I was just kidding."

"Let’s make a bet. If you can’t finish them, you’re paying for the meal.

If you do finish, I’ll pick up the tab. How about it?"

"Pfft," Jane raised an eyebrow at the waiter, "Bring on the ten servings."

After the waiter nodded and left, Jane speared a piece of meat with her fork and gulped it down in two bites.

Kay Forrest pursed his lips and started to eat elegantly with knife and fork.

Jane leaned forward and asked, "Don’t you digest the food while you’re eating it if you eat so slowly?"

"Do you think my stomach is a blender?"

Jane made a face, stating that if she ate so daintily, she would go hungry all day.

After finishing the steak, Jane started on the salad and occasionally nibbled on some pastries.

Soon, the waiter brought over the steaks.

Ten slices of steak were placed onto two large plates.

People around sent curious glances their way, which they ignored.

Kay Forrest raised an eyebrow, "Go ahead and eat."

"Don’t mind if I do."

She didn’t even use a knife, just forked and ate.

By the fourth piece, she took a sip of wine and exclaimed, "Wow, the steak at a proper Western restaurant is really delicious, Pizzahut doesn’t even compare."

He laughed. Obviously, this steak was flown in, how could it be the same?

Watching her eat meat in big chunks and drink wine in big gulps brought a slight smile to Kay Forrest’s face.

He was used to seeing delicate women who were afraid of gaining an ounce by eating. Seeing Jane’s uninhibited appetite was surprisingly refreshing.

In the past two months, he had visited many cities, trekked across mountains on foot, journeyed through deserts, and participated in marathons.

He lived life to the fullest in every city he visited.

Then for some reason, whenever he was in cities with ethnic charm, he would remember her and the tasseled curtains in her tiny room in Rongford.

This woman wasn’t as pretty as Faye Townsend and had a proud personality, but oddly enough, he felt she was quite suitable as a friend.

Spending time with her felt just as relaxed as it did with Faye Townsend.

No feeling of repression whatsoever.

Soon, she had finished all ten pieces of steak.

After eating, she wiped her mouth with satisfaction, "That was so fulfilling, thank you for dinner tonight."
