Chapter 377: Chapter 203: Isn’t it... a bit too revealing? _3

He was somewhat impressed with himself, really having a pair of good eyes for spotting things.

"If that’s considered revealing, then everyone wearing tank tops on the street is practically naked."

What he said was a fact; the dress was over the knee and not short at all. It’s just that the upper half has a shoulder straps V-neck, showing off her beautiful traits, very pleasing to the eye.

He stepped forward and put his arm on her shoulder: "Do you know why you got dumped?

It’s because your taste in clothes is terrible.

If you want to stand out in the world of romance in the future, hang out with your big brother. I guarantee to turn you into Rongford’s belle."

Jane Quinlan couldn’t help but laugh speechlessly: "If changing clothes could make one a belle, Rongford would be a sea of flowers."

"Tsk, you’re not wrong there.

But you have to have confidence in yourself, you may be a bit ugly, but... are you kind-hearted?"

"Pfft," Jane Quinlan rolled her eyes, she turned to the clerk, "How much is this dress?"

The clerk pressed her lips together in a smile: "Miss, this gentleman has already paid for you."

"What?" She turned her head to look at him.

Kay Forrest shrugged proudly, pointing to his four shopping bags: "To express your gratitude to me, you carry them."

Having said that, he walked out, and a clerk hurried to the door, respectfully bowing: "Thank you for visiting, goodbye."

Before leaving, Jane Quinlan quietly asked the clerk, "How much was this dress?"

The clerk whispered in her ear: "Five hundred."

Jane Quinlan breathed a sigh of relief; she indeed had a knack for guessing.

Kay Forrest originally wanted to take a taxi back, but Jane Quinlan insisted on dragging him back to her little QQ car.

He quickly got into the car somewhat sulkily: "Ah, it’s so embarrassing."

"What’s there to be embarrassed about, you said it yourself, a car is just a means of transportation."

She said this and was about to start the car, "I’ll pay you back for the dress when I get home, I don’t have cash on me."

"No need, I already said it’s a gift."

"That won’t do, I don’t like taking advantage of others."

"That’s perfect, I’m hungry, treat me to a meal instead."

Jane Quinlan thought for a moment, "In Rongford, there’s a restaurant not many know about, but the food is really superb. I’ll take you there."

"Okay," he closed his eyes and leaned back to take a nap.

She drove the car to the entrance of Rongford Secondary School and parked: "We’re here, get off."

Kay Forrest looked outside somewhat exasperated: "We’re eating here?"

"Don’t judge by its looks; the food here is really delicious. Just follow me."

Just like when they first met, she grabbed his wrist and pulled him into a roadside snack bar.

It was even hard to find a place to sit here.

His tens of thousands worth of clothes was exchanged for a roadside snack, which seemed too disproportionate.

She ordered at the kitchen door and even chatted with the owner for a bit before coming back.

"You know the people here?"

"The owner uncle is a very nice person. I used to eat here a lot, so I’ve known him for a long time."

Not long after, the owner personally brought out two bowls of soup and set them in front of the two of them.

The owner didn’t wear a chef’s uniform, just a grease-stained casual outfit, Kay Forrest frowned slightly.

The owner smiled at him: "Young man, you are really lucky. Miss Quinlan has never brought a boyfriend here to eat before."

"Uncle, he’s not my boyfriend, just a friend."

"Boyfriends start out as friends. Take your time eating, won’t disturb you anymore."

The owner patted her shoulder and went back into the kitchen.

She nudged her lips: "Try it."

As he looked down at the bowl... some unidentifiable object, he scooped a bit with a spoon and frowned, "What is this."

"Mutton soup."

He instantly threw the spoon back into the bowl: "Damn, do you ever play by the rules."

She could clearly sense that he was somewhat angry.

"Oh come on, why are you angry? I really recommend it because it’s delicious.

The sheep here are from the countryside and besides, the sheep don’t eat feed, it’s really clean, try it."

"You eat it."

He pushed his bowl towards her: "Enjoy it yourself."

Tsk, if you don’t eat, so be it.

She didn’t bother with him and truly started to eat heartily by herself.

As she ate, he watched.

She had only taken a couple of bites when her phone suddenly rang like a death knell.

She glanced at it and picked up the phone: "Adriana."

"Hey, I heard you are back in Rongford, you heartless person, how could you come back and not visit me."

"I was afraid you were busy, besides, I’m only staying in Rongford for three days before I go back."

Adriana Golden, her middle and high school classmate, was one of her better childhood friends.
