Chapter 299: Chapter 213: Are You Capable of Bearing the Consequences of Revealing Secrets?_4
"Get out, Faye Townsend. Stop coming to me—we’re no longer friends.
No, we were never friends to begin with.
From the start, the only thing I wanted was to be with you.
Since there’s no chance for us now, you don’t need to keep messing up my life anymore.
I, Oliver Turner, have never been short of women."
He walked to the dance floor, grabbed a woman, and handed her a stack of cash.
The woman saw the money and immediately clung to Oliver.
He cast a cold smile at Faye, turned, and left with the woman in his arms.
Faye felt heavy-hearted.
Clara probably doesn’t know about Oliver’s current situation.
If she knew, she’d definitely feel devastated.
Was it right or wrong for her to introduce Clara to Sean Lennox?
Sean is happy now, and Clara has begun to open her heart bit by bit, but Oliver...
Faye took a deep breath, her mood weighed down as she left.
Because it was rush hour, Faye sat on the slow-moving main road, staring restlessly out of the car window.
If Oliver keeps sinking like this, isn’t he the one who will suffer the most?
She truly, truly cherished this friend.
If he really lets himself fall apart like this, she will absolutely regret it.
After a moment of contemplation, Faye said to the chauffeur, "Change of plans, don’t go to Shian Road. Head to Minqing Road."
"Understood, Director Townsend."
The traffic on Minqing Road was relatively better. Despite some congestion, it only took half an hour to get there.
She sent Hunter Warren a text message on the way, which eased her mind somewhat.
Before getting out of the car, Faye said to the driver, "Wait for me here for a bit. I need to handle something."
"Understood, Director Townsend."
She rang the villa’s doorbell. A servant answered and looked quite surprised when they saw her.
"Director Townsend, you’re here."
"Is Oliver here? Has he come back yet?"
"Director Turner came back a little while ago; he’s upstairs now."
"Is he alone, or...?"
The servant looked a bit uncomfortable, and Faye nodded. "Alright, I get it."
Without waiting further, she walked in. The servant hesitated but followed her anxiously. "Director Townsend, why not wait downstairs for a moment?"
"Get back to your work. Leave this matter to me."
"But—"
"If Oliver blames you later, just say you couldn’t stop me.
Do you know how to deflect responsibility? If not, start learning now."
With that, she strode inside.
She went straight upstairs to Oliver Turner’s room and knocked on the door.
Oliver’s voice roared violently from behind the door: "Get lost."
Faye took a deep breath. "Oliver Turner, open the door."
The room fell silent suddenly. Faye knocked harder. "Open it now."
Oliver leisurely pulled the door open, leaning against the frame with his arm and gazing at her, his brow raised. "Don’t you know it’s rude to interrupt someone’s fun?"
Faye glanced inside the room, her eyes landing on the woman, who, like Oliver, was fully clothed.
She brushed past Oliver’s arm and walked up to the woman, taking out a stack of money and handing it to her. "Your work is done for tonight. You can leave."
"I’m supposed to leave just because you say so?" The woman scoffed, casting an arrogant glance at the money in Faye’s hand before shifting her gaze to Oliver. "I was hired by this gentleman, so naturally, I take orders from him."
Oliver curled his lips into a smirk, approached the woman, and kissed her on the cheek. "Well said."
Faye raised her hand and flung the entire stack of money directly at Oliver’s face. "Can you snap out of it already? How long are you planning to keep this up? What are you hoping to achieve by taking things this far?"
Faye’s voice was filled with fury as she looked directly at Oliver. "Do you know how disappointing you are right now?
Do you think by degrading yourself like this, I’ll marry you? That Clara will come back?
You know very well nothing will change by doing this. So what are you even doing?"
