Chapter 236: Chapter 180 Skilled in the Art of Negotiation 1_3

"I would like to form a strong alliance with Mr. Forrest."

Grayson Forrest slowly brought the teacup to his lips and took a gentle sip, letting the full-bodied aroma of the tea fill his mouth.

He raised his eyebrows and looked at Hunter Warren, who was calmly seated opposite him, with a hint of disdain in his voice: "Why do you think I should join forces with you?"

"Because Mr. Forrest cares deeply for Faye Townsend, and my goal is to secure the happiness of myself, Faye, and our two children.

I am gambling on the notion that Mr. Forrest wouldn’t want to see the happiness Faye has painstakingly regained be taken away once more."

After Hunter Warren finished speaking, he also picked up the teacup and took a sip.

Suddenly, Grayson Forrest laughed heartily twice: "I have to admit, Second Master Warren, you truly understand the art of negotiation, striking the key points excellently."

Hunter Warren offered a humble smile: "I hardly deserve such praise from Mr. Forrest."

"Tell me, what kind of trouble have you encountered?"

"My brother is back, and these days he’s been pestering Faye.

Director Turner of the BlueHorizon Group is also eyeing Faye covetously.

There’s never a shortage of suitors around Faye.

When they confront me individually, I remain fearless.

But if they join forces... honestly, I find it a bit taxing to deal with both at once.

It’s not that I’m afraid, but they act in the shadows while I’m out in the open, making it hard to gauge some matters accurately.

I’m worried that Faye and the two children might get hurt in this situation."

"So you need me to be your innermost safeguard?"

Hunter Warren nodded with a smile: "I have great confidence in myself, yet many things in this world are unpredictable.

If something were to go wrong, I hope Mr. Forrest you could lend a hand, at least ensure that Faye and the two children do not come to any harm.

They are my absolute bottom line now."

After Hunter finished speaking, Grayson Forrest chuckled: "Let me think about it, you can head back first."

He nodded, stood up and said his farewell: "Then I shall not disturb Mr. Forrest’s rest further. If there is ever anything you need my assistance with, please don’t hesitate to instruct me.

My father-in-law once said you were his best friend, closer than siblings, so in the future, Faye and I will certainly honor you like a family patriarch."

Grayson Forrest looked at Hunter Warren with a smile; this young man was clever.

"Mr. Forrest, then I shall take my leave."

"Have a safe journey, I won’t see you out."

"No need to see me out, Mr. Forrest."

On the way back to the company, Hunter Warren was constantly puzzled; Grayson Forrest would definitely help him, but why didn’t he agree directly to his request?

Was there some other concern he had?

Thinking about it, Mr. Forrest truly was an old fox through and through.

Compared to his father, Kay Forrest was unmistakably too green.

Faye had been incredibly busy all afternoon, with Hunter Warren rescheduling his morning appointments to the afternoon.

Due to the sudden change of plans and his mediation, clients Faye was supposed to visit personally were all invited to the company by him.

She finally finished her tasks by a little past seven in the evening.

After seeing off the last batch of guests, Faye massaged her neck as she returned to the office from the meeting room.

Entering, she was startled by Richard Townsend sitting at her desk.

"Why are you still in the office this late?" She strode forward checking her watch: "Shouldn’t you be on your way to a nightclub by now?"

Richard glanced at her askew: "Is that how you talk?"

Faye laughed: "I’m just stating the truth. What brings you here so late?"

"Wanted to ask if you and your husband have figured out a way to deal with that Walter Hansen."

"Hunter intends to start by investigating the accident vehicle, and then make plans from there."

Richard nodded: "With brother-in-law joining in, I instantly feel there’s a fifty-fifty chance of success.

Be sure to inform me of any plans you come up with.

If there’s anything I can help with, I’ll do my utmost."

"Sure." Faye looked at him puzzled.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"You’ve suddenly become so reliable – I’m not used to it." Faye shook her head: "I haven’t had dinner yet, want to go eat together?"

"I heard Hunter’s been picking you up every day lately, I better not tag along as a third wheel."

"He’s got a social engagement tonight, so he won’t be coming."

"Where to eat?" Faye gave her a glance, with a slightly proud air.

Faye pursed her lips: "My place, of course."

"Is that little devil of yours at home?"

"Yes." Faye nodded: "Both kids are. What, are you afraid of Darnley?"

"Afraid? Who’s afraid of who remains to be seen, let’s go." Richard stood up and followed Faye downstairs.

On the way, Faye kept her head down, playing with her phone.

When she brought Richard home, Miya eyed Richard curiously; she had never met this uncle before.

"So you’re my uncle, then."

Richard put on a cool, aloof demeanor, "That’s right, I am your uncle."

Darnley crossed his arms, staring at him, telling Miya: "Miya, Dad told me that this uncle is really not worth much.

He always bullies our mom, so no need to be nice to him."

Richard turned to Faye: "Is this how Kay slanders me outside?"

"Is it slander? It’s clearly the truth." Faye finished speaking and said to Uncle Rivers who was standing aside: "Uncle Rivers, I’m a bit hungry, can you ask Mrs. Liu to cook me a bowl of noodles?"

"Alright, young miss, please wait a moment. Has the young master eaten?"

Richard waved his hand: "I’m not eating, I’m going out to have fun in a bit."

He said, doing a little twist.

Faye laughed at the group and went upstairs to change clothes.

Upstairs, she sent a message to Hunter Warren, telling him she’d already gone home, then took a quick shower before going back down.

The noodles were ready, and Uncle Rivers called Faye to eat. Just as she sat down, the doorbell at the entrance rang.

Uncle Rivers went to check, seeing someone he didn’t recognize; he was just about to go see when Faye said: "Uncle Rivers, I called them, let her in."

"Alright, young miss."

Richard didn’t pay attention over there, crossing his legs watching TV.

The front door opened, and Eliana Brooke walked in.

Richard glanced and immediately sat upright in shock: "What brings you here."

Eliana Brooke obviously paused upon seeing Richard, then turned her gaze to Faye: "Director Townsend."

She ignored Richard, directly overlooking him.

Richard curled his lip, pff, treated like air again.

Faye smiled, "Brooke, come in quickly, Darnley, Miya, come over, let me introduce you, this is your aunt."

Darnley turned his head, glancing at Richard: "Is my disappointing uncle married?"

"You kid..." Richard stepped forward to lightly knock Darnley’s head. Darnley glared at him: "Why hit me, I’ll tell Dad, and Dad won’t forgive you."

Richard quickly covered his mouth: "You’re a man, what’s the point in snitching, if you’ve got the guts, challenge me one on one."

Faye chuckled helplessly, and after exchanging greetings with Darnley and Miya, she asked Eliana Brooke: "Have you eaten yet? Join us for some noodles."

"I’ve eaten, Director Townsend. Is there something you’d like to discuss?"

Richard glanced over there: "Alright then, since you have business to talk about, I’ll be on my way, I have an appointment anyway."
