Chapter 201: Chapter 192: It’s That Thing That Thing That Thing! (Second Update)
"Kai Di, move again and I’ll blow your brains out!" Tong Airui pressed the gun heavily against Kai Di’s forehead.
Kai Di froze instantly. It was only then that she realized Tong Airui’s bloodshot eyes!
"Where’s my man? Bring him back to me unharmed!" Tong Airui commanded coldly.
"I didn’t harm him; he’s just outside." Kai Di’s eyes flickered slightly. "Airui Aldrich, this is Haotian. If you dare touch me, my elder brothers won’t let you off. I suggest you put the gun away."
"You want me to lower the gun? Simple. Apologize now! And stop flaunting your so-called princess airs in front of me. Also, quit threatening me with your brothers. Those two are so tied up in their own mess they can’t handle themselves. When they finally free up and discover all the dirty things you’ve done, they won’t need me to deal with you—they’ll kill you themselves."
Tong Airui’s cold gaze bore into her as his finger slightly tightened on the trigger.
Seeing him pull the trigger, Kai Di reluctantly muttered, "I’m sorry."
"What did you say? I didn’t hear you!" Tong Airui barked harshly.
"I’M SORRY!" Kai Di shouted the three words at the top of her lungs.
"Get out! From now on, don’t you dare come in without my permission!" Tong Airui withdrew his gun and shouted impatiently.
At the doorway, Kai Di suddenly turned back, now holding a jet-black pistol in her hand. But seeing Tong Airui aiming his gun directly at her, she miserably put the pistol away. "Tong Airui... I’m sorry. I won’t bother you again."
Tong Airui curled his lips disdainfully and motioned to the door with his gun.
Kai Di left dejectedly. No matter what, she could never be faster than him.
As soon as Kai Di stepped out, Yuan Hang stumbled in, rubbing his head. "Damn it, that woman ambushed me."
"Shameful!" Tong Airui shot him a displeased look. "From now on, keep her away from our camp."
"Yes, sir!" Yuan Hang replied.
Tong Airui’s gaze lingered on Yuan Hang’s face. "If you want to stay with Divine Eagle, then pull yourself together and stop losing your wits over women."
"Boss, you misunderstand me! That woman, a woman? The only difference between her and us is two lumps on top and something missing below. I really don’t see her as a woman." Yuan Hang mimicked Kai Di’s stride, swaying exaggeratedly across the room. "Boss, do I look convincing?"
Tong Airui raised an eyebrow slightly. "You’ve got the swagger, but you’re missing something on top and have too much down below. Still not convincing."
"Boss, how did the wise and heroic Emperor Haotian even end up with a daughter like that?" Yuan Hang bent down to pick up colored pencils from the floor.
"Spoiled rotten, being born so late in life. The mighty Emperor Haotian didn’t just have a stellar daughter; he also gave birth to two warring sons. Fighting a civil war for years over a woman—what a joke." Tong Airui took the colored pencils Yuan Hang handed him and marked two more crosses on the map. "Quick battles; I don’t want to spend another day in this place. At dawn, we’ll head back to sea and hit him with naval warfare."
"Distracted by that woman? Or just longing for our little mistress back home?"
"Bullshit! Of course, I miss my wife!" Tong Airui glared at him. "Now get moving and relay the orders. We retreat to the sea immediately."
Yuan Hang hesitated. "Boss, won’t that woman think you’re scared of her if we leave now?"
"Do you think I care about her thoughts?" Tong Airui furrowed his brows. "My wife was annoyed because I didn’t talk to her enough just now. Go arrange it—half an hour until we secretly retreat. At 2 AM, we’ll launch a full-scale attack on all the targets I marked."
Yuan Hang’s mouth twitched as he stared at all the x’s on the map. His boss was clearly desperate to finish quickly and get home to his wife.
"Didn’t you hear me?" Tong Airui shot him a displeased look.
"I heard you, but..." Yuan Hang gestured at the numerous x’s. "Boss, with so many targets, no focus?"
"No focus, because I don’t know where Du Ma is. So we just bombard everything." Tong Airui smirked mischievously. "Got a problem?"
Yuan Hang nodded. "Of course I’ve got a problem! Shells don’t come free. Even if you’re trying to support the old man’s business, don’t be so wasteful."
"Am I spending your money?" Tong Airui shot him a sideways glance. "Charge this to Haotian Kingdom—they pissed me off by sending their princess to antagonize me."
Yuan Hang’s mouth twitched again but kept silent. That’s just what their boss did—instant karma, Aldrich-style.
Smirking, Tong Airui walked over and pointed to one of the red-circled highlands on the map. "Here."
Yuan Hang’s eyes lit up. "Boss, our people are fast!"
"Go make arrangements. We’ll attack this spot when I feel like it." Tong Airui jerked his chin toward the door. "If anyone interrupts me talking to my wife again, I’ll send you back to the manor to farm!"
"Farming sounds easier than serving you," Yuan Hang muttered under his breath, scurrying out.
Tong Airui pulled out his phone, glanced at the time, and dialed Yi Luowa.
What was Yi Luowa doing?
The girl had just suffered a minor setback and was lying on her bed sulking.
When Tong Airui’s earlier call had been interrupted, she felt upset. Going to the next room and not finding Tong Ai Ni outside, she assumed whoever wasn’t outside must be inside. She knocked on the door twice, only to hear Tong Aino call out, "Asleep, don’t knock!"
Yi Luowa rolled on her bed. "Everyone’s paired up. Who’s coming to keep me company—"
"Ring ring..." Hearing the ringtone, Yi Luowa instantly perked up and quickly swiped to answer. "Fourth Brother, are you done?"
"Yeah, I promised to spend the night with you, and tonight, I’m all yours."
"Hehe, Fourth Brother, you’re the best~" Yi Luowa pouted. "Fourth Brother, Old Five just kicked me out."
"He’s looking for trouble!" Tong Airui’s face darkened. "Wait till I get back and deal with him!"
"Mhm, come back and spank him for me!" Yi Luowa giggled, then softened. "But honestly, in that situation, you’d have kicked me out too."
"What situation?" Tong Airui chuckled. "Don’t tell me it was like, you know, yesterday."
"Didn’t see it myself, but Tong Old Five said he was sleeping, and they were sharing a room!" Yi Luowa pouted again and rolled around her bed. "This bed feels way too big without someone in it!"
"That quick? Old Five, speedy as that?" Tong Airui looked doubtful.
"Believe it or not, I knocked on Connie’s door, and Old Five said that. Connie didn’t deny it." Yi Luowa huffed. "Fourth Brother, I miss you."
"I miss you too. Won’t be long now. Just wait for me at home."
"Fourth Brother, why don’t you mess with Old Five later? He almost caused trouble for you—you should return the favor."
"And how should I mess with him?" Tong Airui asked with a laugh.
"You know... that thing, that thing, that thing!" Yi Luowa hummed. "Fourth Brother, I—miss—you."
Her soft hums melted Fourth Brother’s resolve. "Darling, if you keep this up, I might just go AWOL."
"Haha..." Yi Luowa laughed delightfully. "Fourth Brother, hold on. Deserting would bring shame to the Aldrich family."
"You’re the best~"
Tong Airui was enjoying himself until Yuan Hang walked in. Yuan Hang gestured for him to continue his call while studying the map, grinning all the while.
"Fourth Brother, why aren’t you talking?" Yi Luowa sensed something was off. "Don’t tell me something came up again."
"A lunatic walked in. You talk, I’m listening. Once he leaves, we can continue," Tong Airui replied, casually walking up to Yuan Hang and giving him a kick. "Done gawking? Get lost."
Yuan Hang, unbothered by the kick, gave a thumbs-up. "Boss, wise and valiant! Why am I always a step behind you?"
"If you were a step ahead, you’d be Divine Eagle’s captain by now!" Tong Airui retorted.
"Boss, everything’s arranged. Departure is on schedule. Go chat with your mistress—I’ll pack for you." Yuan Hang chuckled, removing the map. "This is classified; I’ll keep it safe."
Tong Airui shot him another glare before continuing with Yi Luowa. "Darling, let’s pick up where we left off. This lunatic probably won’t leave any time soon."
"Oh, so the lunatic is Brother Yuan Hang. Haha... Hearing his voice after a day apart, it’s strangely endearing."
Tong Airui’s face darkened, and he landed a kick on Yuan Hang’s backside.
Yuan Hang, confused, asked, "Boss, why kick me now?"
Yi Luowa’s laughter came through the phone. "Because I said I find Brother Yuan Hang’s voice endearing! My Fourth Brother got jealous and kicked you."
"Did you hear that? My wife explained it." Tong Airui huffed.
Yuan Hang felt helpless. "You two are unbelievable. Can’t you just talk without dragging me into it!"
"Fourth Brother, punish him!" Yi Luowa suggested, laughing. "Make him call Old Five every thirty minutes tonight to annoy him."
"You heard her. My wife’s orders!" Tong Airui declared.
"Heard you!" Yuan Hang sighed but got to work, quickly packing Tong Airui’s things before slipping away to avoid more punishment.
Tong Airui exhaled in relief. "Finally, that pest is gone."
"Fourth Brother, I think I’m getting corrupted hanging out with you. I even dared joke with Brother Yuan Hang."
"If he doesn’t understand, I’ll make him understand—with my fists." Tong Airui chuckled dotingly. "Darling, tonight’s battle is crucial. If it goes smoothly, I’ll be back soon. Once I’m home, I’m not leaving again. Nothing matters more than being with my wife."
Yi Luowa beamed, though she pretended to protest. "Aren’t you afraid people will blame me for being a femme fatale?"
"If anyone dares say that about you, I’ll blow them to bits—BOOM!" A loud explosion sounded outside, and Tong Airui frowned slightly. "Darling, I have to go check what’s happening. Talk later!"
