Billionaire in Love: From Divorce to Destiny
Chapter 26 - "Ye Chen, When Did You Get Married Again?"

Chapter 26. “Ye Chen, When Did You Get Married Again?”

Mai Jia’s analysis was spot-on.

Not only Ye Chen, but even Zhou Qiao nodded in agreement.

“That’s right, there really is such a risk!”

“Then we’ll expand the production line further!”

“But Chairman Ye, the company’s funds are running low.”

Ye Chen frowned and raised a hand. “Let me make a call first.”

With that, he dialed Secretary Qin.

“Secretary Qin, how much cash can the investment firm pull together right now?”

“Three billion? Got it. And how much is left in my personal account? Less than one billion? Understood.”

“Here’s what you do—contact an agent immediately and sell my luxury flat at Zhongliang Yihao as soon as possible.”

“Then transfer all three billion from the investment firm into Hanhai Energy. Once the apartment sells, combine the proceeds with my personal funds to make up two billion and inject that into Hanhai as well.”

“Also—liquidate all my shares and stocks in companies other than Hanhai Energy, Unicorn Motors, and Brilliant Investments. Cash out everything!”

“Don’t ask why. I have my reasons. That’s all.”

After hanging up, he turned to Zhou Qiao.

“Three billion will come in today. The remaining two billion should arrive within two weeks.”

“Five billion should be enough to expand two more battery production lines.”

“Meanwhile, I’ll contact Unicorn Motors to secure a bank loan of two to three billion.”

“I’ll place an order for at least twenty billion with your side first. Half of that will go toward expanding production, the other half as reserve funds.”

“You have one month to prepare. After that, I want Hanhai Energy to shock the world!”

“Also—if the technology is mature and stable, start production now. But keep it confidential!”

“Coordinate the details with Unicorn yourselves.”

Zhou Qiao and Mai Jia were fired up.

“Understood, Chairman Ye! We’ll give it our all!”

“Don’t worry, Chairman Ye. We’ll make sure nothing goes wrong!”

Ten minutes later, after touring the company and production lines, Ye Chen drove off.

Once on the road, he called Liu Cun, the head of Unicorn Motors, and laid out the plan.

Liu Cun, one of Ye Chen’s earliest and most loyal associates, agreed without hesitation and sprang into action.

With that, all of Ye Chen’s core ventures—built up over the years—were now operating at full capacity, working in sync.

After handling business, Ye Chen drove to Fudan University.

He waited in the parking lot for a few minutes before Bai Xiyan hurried over.

“Husband!”

The moment she got in the car, she threw her arms around his neck and planted a couple of eager kisses on him.

Ye Chen returned the affection before they pulled apart.

“Husband, Professor Zhang is in trouble.”

Ye Chen blinked.

“Professor Zhang? The one with special government allowances? What kind of trouble could she possibly have?”

Bai Xiyan bit her lip. “Well, not exactly her trouble. Did you know she has a daughter?”

Ye Chen shrugged. “No. I only know of her by reputation.”

Bai Xiyan explained, “Professor Zhang and her husband have an only daughter. They raised her with great care, but she ended up… corrupted.”

“After studying in the U.S., she stayed there and married some elite white guy.”

“But recently, she got divorced. The husband cheated, yet she walked away with nothing. She just returned to Shanghai a couple of days ago with her mixed-race daughter.”

“Professor Zhang is so proud. Her daughter staying in the U.S. was already a blow, but now this? She’s furious.”

“Plus, she’s one of China’s top legal scholars. She refuses to let this slide—she wants to fight an international divorce lawsuit for her daughter.”

“Since I studied there for two years and know U.S. laws, she asked for my help.”

Ye Chen’s eyes nearly popped out of his head.

What the hell?

“A daughter of Professor Zhang’s caliber got scammed out of love and money, then dumped with nothing?”

“The old lady must be livid. Damn.”

Bai Xiyan nodded. “Exactly. Before I got there, she hadn’t eaten in two meals.”

“Only after I talked to her did she finally eat something.”

Then, hugging his arm, she cooed, “Husband, today I realized how pitiful she is. Her husband passed early, she’s all alone, and her daughter’s a mess. She must be heartbroken.”

“I want to help her. Can I?”

Ye Chen smiled fondly and ruffled her hair.

“Of course you can.”

“How about this—I’ll have a law firm registered for you. You can gather some like-minded legal friends and help Professor Zhang win this case together.”

Bai Xiyan beamed and kissed his cheek loudly.

“Thank you, husband! You’re the best!”

Ye Chen smirked. “And you’re the best too, wife.”

Then he called Secretary Qin again.

“Secretary Qin, one more thing—register a law firm for my wife.”

“I’ll send you her details later.”

“Thanks. I’ll treat you to dinner soon!”

After hanging up, he grinned at Bai Xiyan.

“Congrats, soon-to-be Boss Bai of your very own law firm.”

She giggled and clung to his neck again.

A few minutes later, Ye Chen started the car and drove home.

The moment they stepped inside, Bai Xiyan was all over him.

A solid hour and a half later, he finally made it to the study and sent Bai Xiyan’s documents to Secretary Qin.

But less than two minutes after hitting send, his phone rang.

“Ding-ding-ding—”

He answered.

A crisp, assertive voice blasted through.

“Chairman Ye! When did you get married again?”

“Bai Xiyan? That’s Bai Xiyi’s sister, isn’t it?”

“What about your promise to me? Did you forget? You swore that if I worked for you, you’d give me a chance to pursue you!”

“And now? Three months after your divorce, you’re already remarried—to your ex-wife’s sister!”

“Every time I asked you out these past three months, you used ‘just divorced, not ready to date’ as an excuse!”

“But marrying your sister-in-law is no problem at all?”

“Ye Chen! Did you ever stop to think about my feelings?!”
