Chapter 24. The House Was Too Big to Live Comfortably, So They Bought a Smaller One

The two spoke in low voices.

Beside them, the real estate agent’s eyes burned with excitement.

Damn!

Big clients!

This 400-square-meter apartment was worth 45 million, with a price exceeding 100,000 per square meter, far beyond what ordinary people could afford.

But these two were clearly no ordinary people!

The 700-square-meter luxury flat at Zhongliang Yihao was worth 150 million. Only ultra-wealthy individuals could afford property there!

“Sir, madam, do you have any other questions about this apartment?”

The real estate agent maintained a humble attitude, though her gaze toward Ye Chen was intense.

Yet, she dared not overstep in the slightest.

Bai Xiyan tilted her head. “Husband, I don’t see any issues. Do you have any concerns?”

Ye Chen glanced at the agent and asked, “Mind if I ask, are pets allowed here?”

The agent hesitated briefly before nodding. “As long as all documentation is in order, of course. If you plan to keep a dog, Mr. Ye, I’d recommend laying soft carpets or similar flooring in the rooms. After all, dogs can be unpredictable, sometimes they get excited and, ”

Ye Chen nodded in understanding. “That’s fine. No other questions, then. Bring the contract. I’ll sign and transfer the payment.”

The agent was overjoyed but maintained perfect professionalism.

With a slight bow, she said, “Of course, Mr. Ye. Please, you and Ms. Bai, have a seat on the sofa. I’ll have the contract brought over immediately! Also, may I ask when you plan to move in? We’ll arrange a thorough cleaning and replace some of the furniture covers. It may take one or two days.”

Ye Chen looked at Bai Xiyan.

She smiled. “No problem. We’ll move in once everything is ready.”

The agent nodded eagerly.

A few minutes later, another agent arrived with the contract.

Ye Chen didn’t move.

Bai Xiyan picked it up, skimmed through it swiftly, and nodded. “The terms are fine. You can sign, husband.”

Ye Chen lounged lazily. “You sign it. Put the property under your name.”

Bai Xiyan pressed her lips together, her smile intoxicating.

The 45-million apartment wasn’t the main thing, it was Ye Chen’s gesture that mattered.

“Alright then, I’ll sign.”

With that, she picked up a pen and signed her name with a flourish.

Then, Ye Chen made a call.

“Hello, Secretary Qin. Please transfer 45 million from my personal account to the one I just sent you on WeChat.”

Less than two minutes after hanging up, the agent received a notification, the payment had gone through.

“Mr. Ye, Ms. Bai, we’ve received the payment. I’m certain you’ve made the right choice with Tianyue Mansion. Our property management and the Tianyue Group will provide you with the most premium service!”

“After you move in, we’ll also deliver a small mystery gift. Please keep an eye out for it.”

“As for the keys and other documents, we’ll deliver them to your residence at Zhongliang Yihao once the cleaning is complete.”

Ye Chen nodded, took Bai Xiyan’s hand, and stood.

“Good. We’ll leave the rest to you. Let’s go.”

With a casual wave, he wrapped an arm around Bai Xiyan’s slender waist and walked out of Tianyue Mansion.

The agent escorted them all the way to their car, only exhaling deeply once their vehicle disappeared around the garage corner.

“Oh my god!”

“What a dashing man!”

*”He just casually bought a 45-million apartment and gifted it to his wife, such extravagance!”*

“Any woman who marries a man like that would be so lucky!”

After marveling to herself, she hugged the contract documents and walked back with a spring in her step.

Just as she reached the upper floor, she ran into a young woman wearing sunglasses, her figure alone was enough to captivate anyone.

“Sister Zhou, I heard the unit above mine was sold? Can you tell me a bit about the buyers?”

Her voice carried a smoky, magnetic quality.

Zhou hesitated. “Miss Ming, that’s client privacy. I really can’t disclose, ”

The woman chuckled lightly. “I’m not asking for specifics, just whether my new neighbors are male or female, and roughly how old they are.”

Zhou quickly nodded. “Oh, that’s fine. The buyers are a young couple, probably in their twenties. The girl looks about 22 or 23.”

“Also, they own a 150-million flat at Zhongliang Yihao but found it too big and empty, so they wanted something cozier here.”

“The gentleman was very decisive, paid the full 45 million upfront.”

“That’s all I can say. The rest is confidential.”

The woman adjusted her sunglasses and smiled. “That’s plenty. Thanks, Sister Zhou.”

As the elevator doors closed, she muttered to herself,

“A young couple in their twenties… thought a 150-million flat at Zhongliang Yihao was too spacious, so they came here for something smaller? Interesting.”

Lost in thought, she absently rubbed her chin.

After leaving Tianyue Mansion, Ye Chen drove Bai Xiyan to a renowned Cantonese restaurant.

Truthfully, before his divorce from Bai Xiyi, he’d rarely had the chance to enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine.

Compared to Western or Japanese food, which she preferred for its presentation despite its lackluster taste, Bai Xiyi had always favored style over substance.

But now, with Bai Xiyan, he shared the same preferences.

Even after studying abroad for two years, she and her sister were polar opposites, she had no real interest in Western food.
