Chapter 312: If I say no, I won’t go down

“Do you think everyone is as gluttonous as you?” Hong Fu said, rapping Li Li’s head in exasperation.

It was absurd for this greedy cat to suggest going to beg for food for her. What delicious food could those strange-looking, green-skinned monsters possibly have?

Besides, even if they did find something, who knows what they eat? What if they eat bugs from the ground, would she follow suit and eat them too?

“Sister, have you forgotten our three agreements?” Li Li reminded her, rubbing his head where she’d knocked it.

They had just made three agreements, and now she was already rapping his head? That was a pretty quick change of heart.

“I remember, but didn’t I just react without thinking for a moment?” Hearing this, Hong Fu spread her hands, indicating that she did remember, but had just accidentally forgotten.

“Well, Sister, you have to remember next time.” Li Li reminded her. The first time was an accident, but there shouldn’t be a second or third time.

“I will definitely remember, I will definitely remember.” Hong Fu said with a smile.

“That’s good.” Li Li replied, then turned his gaze to Shrek and the others.

“Teacher, how much farther do we have to run? I can’t keep up anymore.”

“Yeah, Teacher, could you talk to the Queen and ask her to stop and give us a break?”

“Yeah, yeah, I feel like my legs are about to break.”

The students who were desperately trying to keep up with the group said, their faces full of exhaustion.

What was this all about? They had to run so far every day, they were almost exhausted.

These goblins could run forever, but they couldn’t. Running back and forth like this was going to kill them.

“I told you to exercise regularly and not rely on magic all the time, but you didn’t listen. Now you know you’re tired?” Shrek said angrily as he ran, taking out his magic staff and casting a spell on everyone.

Asking him to talk to the Queen about this kind of thing? Unless his brain was bubbling, he wouldn’t even think about it. He didn’t even want to think about his status and her status. How could she possibly pay attention to him?

It was more realistic to use magic.

“Thank you, Teacher.”

Feeling the magic cast upon them, the students couldn’t help but feel grateful.

“Don’t thank me. Just keep your head down and don’t cause any trouble for me. That’s the most important thing.” Shrek said, looking at Hu Xiong and the others who seemed to be strolling along.

He couldn’t help but feel a sense of wonder. He had to use magic to keep up, but these people could run so fast just by relying on their physical strength. It was too outrageous.

And that tabby cat was jumping around without using any magic at all. This all indicated that their strength was much stronger than that of his students.

He didn’t know how this cat had trained to be able to run faster than magicians. It was simply outrageous.

Sure enough, none of the people who came from the East were simple, even the cats were the same.

Thinking of this, he looked at his students who were happy because he had cast magic on them, and couldn’t help but sigh.

It was truly true that comparisons were odious, and comparisons between people could make one die of anger.

“Speaking of which, it’s already getting dark. Why are they still on the move? Don’t tell me they’re going to make us walk at night?” Xiong Guang said, looking at the sky.

“From the looks of it, that’s probably the case. They plan to go to the Skeleton Kingdom without stopping.” Hu Xiong nodded in agreement, then looked at him and said, “What’s wrong? Are you afraid of walking at night?”

“Of course not, look at what you’re saying, am I that useless?” Xiong Guang couldn’t help but smile and say, “Look at that huge dark cloud in the sky, I’m mainly worried that it will rain.”

The dark cloud in the sky was so thick, who knows what it would do? If they continued on their way without stopping somewhere, the entire army would probably be submerged by water.

Hearing this, Hu Xiong looked at the sky and nodded:

“That cloud is indeed a bit too thick, but these are not our subordinates after all. The other side hasn’t said anything, so it’s not our turn to worry about it.”

The Demon King himself didn’t care, so what could they do about it?

“That’s true.” Xiong Guang nodded in agreement. Even the Demon King didn’t care, so what were they to care about?

Wouldn’t that be asking for trouble? It was better to honestly do their job and not say anything more.

“Your Majesty, that dark cloud ahead looks huge. Should we find a place to stop and rest?” The troll noticed the sky and asked, his eyes full of solemnity.

They were currently in a low-lying area. If they encountered a heavy downpour, they wouldn’t be able to run away and would be directly submerged by the water.

“Don’t worry, even if it rains, it won’t affect anything. You don’t think this little rain can stop us, do you?”

The Dragon Queen said nonchalantly. It was just a little rain, it wouldn’t affect anything. There was no need to worry so much.

“Yes, Your Majesty.” The troll breathed a sigh of relief. Since the Queen said so, there was no problem.

Otherwise, if there was a flood due to the rain and the number of personnel was reduced, he would be to blame.

“Sister, do you think it will rain from that cloud in the sky?” Li Li asked Hong Fu, his tail twitching, as a good idea suddenly popped into his head.

There was an ancient story of flooding an army, and today he was going to repeat this operation and flood the Skeleton Kingdom.

Wasn’t the Skeleton Kingdom in an underground cavern? He would pour water into it, and then he wouldn’t believe those guys wouldn’t be flushed out.

“I think it will. Look, the clouds are almost pressing down on the foot of the mountain. If it doesn’t rain at this level, when do you think it will rain?”

Hong Fu said with a smile. When it came to weather, this little greedy cat was still a layman.

The dark clouds had blown to this corner, and he still didn’t think it would rain.

“I say this cloud will definitely wait until we reach the Skeleton Kingdom before it rains, Sister, do you believe me?” Li Li said confidently.

“I’ll believe it when I see it.” Hong Fu scolded with a smile. “I’ve lived so long, don’t I know when it’s going to rain? You little rascal, you obviously have no experience.”

“Then how about we make a bet, Sister? If it doesn’t rain later, I win. If it rains later, you win.” Li Li said with a smile.

It was very simple to know who was right and who was wrong, just see if it rained or not.

“Alright, alright, but we have to change it a bit.” Seeing Li Li so confident, Hong Fu thought for a moment and said,

“If it rains later, I win. If it doesn’t rain until we reach the Skeleton Kingdom, then you win.”

This little rascal was so confident, he must have a plan. She had to be more careful so as not to fall into his trap.

“No problem, let’s do as you say, Sister.” Li Li said nonchalantly. No matter what she said or did, the fact would not change, that he would win.

“Really? You little rascal are so confident?” Hong Fu couldn’t help but say.

He was so confident, could it be that he had some kind of scheme?

“Of course, if I didn’t even have this much confidence, how could I dare to bet with you, Sister?” Li Li said with a smile, looking at the sky. “Sister, don’t cry if you lose.”

“You’re talking about yourself, aren’t you? Still crying.” Hong Fu said in exasperation, and then made a beckoning gesture towards Li Li. “To prevent you little rascal from making any small moves, you have to stand next to me.”

“There’s no need for that, right? This cat is so honest, don’t you trust me, Sister?” Li Li couldn’t help but mutter when he saw this scene.

Was he, a dignified super cat, so untrustworthy that she had to call him over?

“I want to trust you, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.” Hong Fu said, and then urged, “Stop rambling, I’m just calling you over, I’m not doing anything to you. You’re just standing there motionless, don’t tell me you really want to play some tricks?”

“Of course not, this cat is an honest cat, how could I do such a cheap thing?” Li Li said, glancing at the sky. Then he walked towards Hong Fu with small steps.

She wouldn’t think that he couldn’t secretly control the weather just because he was sitting next to her, would she? Then she was thinking too much.

His strength was not something she could imagine. It was easy for him to play some small tricks.

The most important thing was that she didn’t know yet. Just thinking about it was very interesting. He couldn’t wait to see her expression.

“That depends on whether you’re really honest or not. What’s the use of pretending to be honest?” Hong Fu said in exasperation.

This greedy cat was all talk, but who knew what he was really thinking? He might be up to something, so she had to be on guard.

“Of course I’m really honest, how could this be fake?” Li Li couldn’t help but say.

“That’s hard to say, maybe you little rascal are fake.” Hong Fu said, and only felt relieved when she saw Li Li following her.

She was watching this little guy so closely, she didn’t believe he could still cause any trouble.

“How is that possible? This cat really can’t be any more real, okay?” Li Li couldn’t help but mutter when he heard this.

Why did she suspect that he was fake? Just by looking at him, it was obvious that he was real, okay?

“Really? Then let me touch you, so I can be sure.” Hong Fu said.

“What can you prove if you touch me? The only thing you can prove is whether it feels good to be touched by you, right?” Li Li rolled his eyes.

Did she think he would fall for such a simple trick? If she wanted to touch him for free, she could just say it directly. There was no need to find this kind of excuse. Did she really think he was stupid?

“But if you don’t let me touch you, how can I know if you’re real and not an illusion?” Hong Fu said.

“That’s not within my consideration, that’s your business.” Li Li muttered, and distanced himself from Hong Fu.

Hong Fu was a little helpless. This little guy was getting more and more shrewd, he didn’t even fall for this kind of trick.

It seemed that using aggressive tactics was useless, she had to think of other ways.

Thinking of this, Hong Fu couldn’t help but ponder over a plan to break through the enemy’s defenses.

“This weather is really strange. The dark clouds have been hanging for so long, but not a single drop of rain has fallen. It’s like they’re just for show.”

“Yeah, I even took out my raincoat, but there’s no movement at all. Could it be that it’s not going to rain?”

The students looking at the sky couldn’t help but say. They all felt that the sky was terribly gloomy but it didn’t rain, which was very strange.

“Do you guys like rain so much? Don’t forget, if it rains, we’ll be drenched like drowned rats.” Shrek said in exasperation. Why did these little guys always think about rain? If it really rained, what good would they get out of it?

Why were they praying for rain here? Weren’t their brains bubbling?

“We just think it’s strange, Teacher. Because it looks like it’s definitely going to rain, but it just doesn’t.”

“Yeah! It’s so strange, it feels like a rag is covering our heads and we can’t take it off.”

“That’s right, it gives me a bad feeling, I always feel like the sky is going to give us a big show.”

The students explained after hearing this.

They weren’t fools, how could they possibly want it to rain? They were just a little puzzled.

After all, the clouds had been hanging for so long and it still didn’t rain. Could it be that when they were about to get out of the valley bottom, it would come down in a big wave?

If that was the case, it would be a bit explosive. They probably wouldn’t even be able to get up and would be drowned.

“What are you afraid of? We’re not the only ones here. If the sky falls, there will be taller people to hold it up. It’s not your turn to worry, little guys. Just keep your head down and go on your way. Don’t make any trouble here.” Shrek said.

These little guys were still concerned about the sky. They should take care of themselves first. They didn’t even want to think about what would happen if they traveled a long distance and reached the Skeleton Kingdom. What if they encountered skeletons?

Could they beat them in their current state? Don’t tell me they’ll all be finished there.

“Oh, oh.” The students nodded their heads and stopped talking. They continued on their way with their heads down.

“Interesting.” The beauty looked at the sky, and after noticing the subtle changes, she couldn’t help but smile. Then she ignored it.

“Strange, this rain should have come down a long time ago, why is there still no movement?” Hong Fu looked at the sky, holding a piece of paper in her hand, her face showing a puzzled expression.

The paper felt a little damp to the touch, it should be raining, but why was there no reaction from the sky? The more she thought about it, the stranger it seemed.

“It must not be time for rain yet, what’s so hard to guess? Isn’t this a simple and obvious truth?” Li Li said.

Did Sister want it to rain? Then it would be a little difficult, unless she could use general means, otherwise the sky would definitely not have a single drop of rain.

“This little rascal is so confident, it seems that you did it.” Hong Fu said, staring at Li Li.

“You can eat whatever you want, but you can’t talk nonsense. Don’t say things without evidence. This matter obviously has nothing to do with me, okay? Sister, don’t talk nonsense here.” Li Li couldn’t help but say.

Was she trying to trick him again? He wouldn’t be fooled so easily.

“Then tell me why it’s not raining yet?” Hong Fu asked, looking at Li Li with a “it’s definitely you” look.

“How would I know? I’m just a little kitty, how would I know so much? If I knew so much, I would have gone to the streets to pick up money.” Li Li muttered, and then jumped onto Mingmin’s shoulder. “Sister Mingmin, tell me, isn’t she just accusing a little kitty because she lost the bet?”

“Yes, yes.” Mingmin nodded and stroked Li Li’s big head. “But this weather is really strange, you little rascal, don’t you have anything to say?”

“Yes, I just want to say that it’s getting dark and we should go to sleep. Don’t run around on the road, or we might get struck by lightning.” Li Li replied.

“We’re walking on the road, we haven’t done anything wrong, how could we be struck by lightning?” Hong Fu said, leaning closer. “Could it be that you little rascal have done something wrong?”

“Of course not, this cat is upright and honest. I never do such things. This is clearly slander.” Li Li said righteously.

He was a famously upright little kitty, how could he possibly do such a thing? This was clearly slander.

“Then can you tell Sister, what are you doing with your tail wagging like an antenna?” Mingmin asked, stroking the tip of Li Li’s tail.

She had noticed from the beginning that this greedy cat’s tail was spinning unnaturally. It was like it was wound up and kept spinning.

“Oh, Sister, you’re talking about this? This is a sign of this cat’s anxiety.” Li Li replied casually.

“Is that so? Then what are you anxious about, little guy?” Mingmin asked.

“This cat is anxious because it’s already dark and we haven’t arrived yet. What should we do? After all, this cat is very particular about where I sleep. I can’t just sleep on the ground.” Li Li replied, appearing very calm. He had seen this kind of small scene many times and wasn’t flustered at all.

“So that’s how it is, then you don’t have to panic, Sister has already thought of a solution for you.” Mingmin said, and took out a bed sheet, wrapped it into a bundle, and said to Li Li, “You can lie down inside, this is a small nest I prepared for you.”

“Really? Thank you, Sister.”

Li Li immediately got in without hesitation. It was great if someone could carry him.

And there was a comfortable little nest to sleep in, it couldn’t be more perfect.

“You’re welcome.” Mingmin said with a smile, and then said to Hong Fu, “Junior Sister, do you want to carry this little rascal?”

“Of course, to prevent him from making any small moves, I have to keep an eye on him.” Hong Fu nodded repeatedly and took the bundle.

This little rascal was jumping around, but in the end, he still fell into her hands.
