Chapter 283: Killing Lamorto (I)

Chapter 283: Killing Lamorto (I)

Near the Royal Guards, another group battled with equal ferocity and overwhelming power: the Bloodline Soldiers, led by Major General Theodoro.

This formidable unit consisted of nineteen soldiers, each empowered by potent Devil Bloodlines and impressive Demon Master Abilities. They carved through the battlefield, leaving carnage in their wake, the corpses of demon Champions scattered around them, broken and mutilated.

Though their individual strength was slightly beneath that of the Royal Guards, their numbers, synergy, and coordination allowed them to dismantle every demon Champion in their path, making them a terrifying force on the battlefield.

Unlike the more stationary Royal Guards, the Bloodline Soldiers were constantly in motion, darting across the battlefield in fluid, synchronized maneuvers. Their strategy was relentless offense—using their numbers and abilities to cover each other and enhance their attacks. They fought as a cohesive unit, never staying in one place for too long, always striking and then moving to avoid being overwhelmed by the endless waves of demons.

One soldier, his arms wreathed in black flames, surged forward with blinding speed. He slammed his fists into the chest of a demon Champion, and the fire exploded on impact, reducing the demon to ash in an instant. Another soldier, glowing with a golden aura, leaped into the air like a comet, his spear driving through the skull of another demon Champion, splitting it in two with lethal precision.

At the same time, just a few meters away, another Bloodline Soldier had killed a demon but was struck in the chest by a mighty blow from another. He staggered for a moment, but before the demon could land a finishing strike, his comrade unleashed a blast of dark energy, obliterating the attacking demon Champion.

The wounded soldier nodded in gratitude to the spellcaster. Thanks to the surge of Origin Force, his body rapidly healed, and without missing a beat, he rejoined the fray. It was a scene of constant teamwork, each soldier watching the others’ backs, ready to intervene at any moment.

Theodoro, at the head of the unit, led with precision. His voice boomed across the battlefield as he barked out commands. His own power was immense, his body surging with dark demonic energy. With a single swing of his sword, he cleaved through multiple demons, their blood spraying into the air. The Bloodline Soldiers followed his lead, their attacks perfectly timed, creating an unbreakable rhythm of destruction.

Despite their strength, the constant movement and the relentless pace of battle began to take its toll. The Bloodline Soldiers felt the exhaustion creeping into their limbs, their muscles burning and minds strained from the constant focus. Yet they were resilient, using the continuous flow of Origin Force from each kill to reinvigorate their bodies and replenish their energy pools. The rising power and the adrenaline of battle pushed them forward, allowing them to fight through the fatigue.

The battlefield across the Twin Peaks was a scene of utter carnage. Dozens of demons died every second, but their numbers were so overwhelming that, even at this staggering rate, it would still take time to defeat them all. Blood soaked the ground, and the air was thick with the sounds of clashing steel, explosions, and the dying roars of demons.

Amid this chaos, on one of the shattered mountain peaks, a singular battle raged between two warriors whose power far surpassed that of any other combatants below.

Vlad and Lamorto, locked in a fierce duel, had been tearing through the mountains. Now, they had reached the highest peak, from which they could see the entire battlefield as they fought to kill one another.

Vlad moved like a blur, his body cloaked in red lightning, enhancing his speed and strength. His bastard sword, covered in demonic flames, swung with deadly precision, each strike powerful enough to split the earth beneath him.

Lamorto, the massive Abyssal Demon, countered with savage fury. His enormous bone-covered claws slashed through the air with such force that they shattered the stone around him.

The Depravita and the Abyssal clashed again and again, their blows sending shockwaves through the air. Every strike between Vlad’s sword and Lamorto’s claws resulted in violent explosions of energy, creating gusts of wind that howled across the peak.

The ground beneath them cracked and splintered, unable to withstand the force of their battle. The destruction they unleashed was immense, but both warriors remained focused, concentrating their full power on each other.

Vlad darted forward, his red lightning surging. He swung his sword in a wide arc, aiming for Lamorto’s side, but the demon’s battle instincts kicked in, and he leaped back just in time.

With a snarl, Lamorto counterattacked, his bone-covered claws slashing toward Vlad with brutal speed. Vlad blocked the strike with his sword, sparks flying as the two forces collided.

Lamorto pressed forward, using his immense size and strength to drive Vlad back. His attacks were relentless, each swipe of his claws capable of tearing through stone and flesh alike. But Vlad’s agility and martial skill kept him one step ahead, dodging and deflecting the blows with precision.

The Depravita of Wrath moved like a shadow, always just out of reach, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. The flames on his sword burned brighter with every swing.

Suddenly, Vlad saw an opening. With a burst of lightning, he dashed forward, his sword aimed straight at Lamorto’s chest. However, just as the blade was about to pierce the demon’s flesh, Lamorto twisted his body, and the sword grazed his side but failed to land a fatal blow.

"Ahhh!" Lamorto roared in pain, but his battle instincts allowed him to react instantly. He slammed his fist into the ground, sending a shockwave of energy that knocked Vlad off balance.

Seizing the moment, Lamorto lunged at Vlad with his claws extended, aiming to crush him with a single blow. Vlad barely managed to regain his footing, raising his sword to block the attack.

The impact of the blow sent tremors through Vlad’s body, his arms straining under the force of Lamorto’s strength. A trail of blood leaked from the corner of Vlad’s mouth, but his killing intent only grew stronger.
