Chapter 223: Level 12 Abyssal Demon
Vlad understood the dangers of facing an Abyssal, which was why after a few moments, a plan came up, and he waved his hands, making over one hundred parchments appear in front of the group. He then took out his runic pens and began to alter the runic formations that contained the demon’s souls. The process took him nearly five hours before every single one of them was modified, now holding traces of the demonic fire of his Runic Set.
Only then did Vlad signal for the trio to start channeling their energy into the runic formations in the parchments. It took a massive amount of energy to summon over one hundred souls, and the demons could not recharge themselves. Luckily, as long as they did not move, they consumed very little energy.
After three days of non-stop charging the parchment with the runic formations, 118 black demons appeared around the group. Every single one of these was a demon Champions whose souls had been sealed over the last month, but while they were stronger than normal demonic beasts, they could not compare with true demon Champions as they were physically weaker and could not use Force or any other form of energy.
If these 118 demon summons were to march toward that ten thousand-strong demonic horde, they would be massacred in less than a minute. Luckily, they had something that demonic hordes had never really displayed.
Strategy!
Jormungandr’s eyes glowed as the power of the A.I. Chip flowed from his mind, connecting with every single one of the demon summons and taking control over them. Even for the small yellow cat, controlling the moves of one hundred summons would be too much, but the A.I. Chip could take care of such a monumental task.
Of course, the A.I. Chip would be using its full power in that assignment, and it could not help Jormungandr to fight, but that was not a problem as he did not need assistance when facing demonic beasts or demon Champions.
’Jormungandr, Freya, and the demon summons should be able to handle the demonic horde, especially with the last modification I made to the summons,’ A cold smile appeared on Vlad’s face as he thought of that, but it did not last long as focus and gravitas returned to his face. ’My enemy will be the Abyssal. I just hope this goes better than my first encounter with one of them.’
...
Huntu sat at the center of the demonic horde with a bored expression on his face. The Abyssal had marched across all of Starbright City to this place, killing everything in his path—human forces, angels, and Monster packs. He even crushed another demonic horde led by an Abyssal.
All those fights filled him with power and helped him improve, and he hoped that Sunshine City would provide the same stimulus, but unfortunately, that was not the case. The north was simply too weak, and the demons in this place were so feeble that instead of allowing them to join his horde, Huntu chose to kill them and use them as food.
Such brutality and cannibalism were horrible by human standards, but it was very common in the Abyss.
However, Huntu knew that his weeks of boredom were over as he turned to the left and saw dozens of demonic figures racing toward them.
’They finally came,’ A cold smile appeared on the Abyssal’s face as he saw the enemies. He had detected a presence before, and while he found nothing, he trusted his instincts and knew an attack was coming, which was why he did not move for the last few weeks.
Anyone capable of hiding from his senses was bound to be strong, and Huntu needed to fight and kill powerful people if he wanted a chance to grow stronger and evolve further.
Huntu raised his massive bastard sword and pointed it at the black demons marching, making his massive horde dive forward full of killing intent. Immediately, the demonic horde obeyed and dashed with immense power, carrying such massive momentum that it seemed they would immediately destroy the enemy.
However, before both sides could clash, dozens of arcs of lightning-infused flames crashed on the front of the demonic horde, killing many and weakening their march. Not even a second later, the figure of a young woman dashed into the horde, splitting it apart and unleashing ferocious attacks that weakened their cohesion.
Thanks to the help of the lightning-infused flames and the young woman, the demonic horde became so weak that the dark demons managed to lunge into them and, displaying flawless strategy, began to fight the much larger horde.
Huntu saw all that and showed no concern for the state of his horde. If anything, he was glad for such a battle since those who survived would have the potential to advance further. The Abyssal did not move and was completely alone before turning around and focusing on a figure that had silently appeared one hundred meters from him.
"So you will be my enemy? Good!" Excitement and thrill appeared on Huntu’s face as he made his Abyssal Energy explode, his chest glowing even more fiercely as a mantle of dark red lightning covered his figure.
Vlad’s eyes narrowed as he gazed at the Abyssal. He would have preferred to perform a sneak attack, but the perception of the demon was simply too strong, and his eyes were cold as the power of the A.I. Chip marched forward.

Vlad tightened the grip over his blades. The Abyssal had focused on his strength, making his physical agility and defense average, but his ability fixed that weakness, making him a flawless warrior capable of immense power.
