Chapter 219: Knight City (II)
The imposing creature that had tackled the angle resembled a werewolf, covered in white fur that contrasted starkly with his dark, fiendish features. His black eyes glowed with a sinister red light, casting an eerie glow in the dark.
His face was terrifying, with a menacing snarl that revealed sharp, jagged teeth. A pair of large, curved horns emerged from his forehead, sharper and more durable than any Champion Tier weapon. Intricate infernal runes etched into his skin added to his devilish appearance. Every part of his body seemed made to kill, as shown by the large, clawed hands that were poised menacingly, ready to strike.
On his maw was a piece of flesh and armor that he ripped from Jeremiah’s shoulder, all bloody, making his appearance even more menacing.
The devilish figure belonged to none other than the Depravita of Greed, Ouroboros. His change in appearance was due to the Bloodline Ability obtained through his Devil Champion Tier Bloodline. Its name was Fiend Transformation, allowing his body to change, adopting a devil form that greatly enhanced his physical stats.
Shock appeared on Jeremiah’s face as he gazed at the fiendish werewolf. He still remembered clearly how the monster’s fangs aimed at his neck, and if not for his fast reflexes, he would have perished instead of just losing a piece of his shoulder.
"I am Jeremiah Gladius, third son of Viscount Gladius. Vile creature, repent for your acts, or the power of my family will fall on you!" Jeremiah shouted, trying to use his family’s name to intimidate the other side, something that would normally work in Heaven.
However, the only thing that appeared in Ouroboros’ eyes was disdain. He began to chew the pieces of armor and flesh he had ripped off from the angel, his fangs so hard that they shredded the magic metal before he swallowed it.
"I truly loathe your kind." Ouroboros did not utter another word before Force covered his body, enhancing his physical stats. He then adopted a crouching stance and flashed forward on all fours, using the full power of the Demonblood Ironhide Runic Set to enhance his speed and endurance even more.
Jeremiah was shocked by the speed that Ouroboros was able to achieve and entered into a panic as he began to shoot dark fireballs, raising flaming pillars from the ground. He was a Warrior, but the wounds on his arm had crippled his dominant arm, so the only thing he could rely on now was the power of his bloodline.
The dark fireballs shot extremely fast, leaving barely any sign, yet Ouroboros was able to dodge every single attack effortlessly. The A.I. Chip scanned the surroundings, detecting the attacks before they appeared, and Ouroboros used his fiendish speed and reflexes to advance, weaving through the barrage with precision.
Jeremiah panicked more and more the closer Ouroboros got. Finally, as the Depravita of Greed was less than five meters from him, he unleashed a torrent of dark fire that extended in wide arcs.
Unfortunately for the noble angel, Ouroboros lowered his body at the last second, ducking beneath the arc of dark fire. Without losing momentum, he sprang up with a powerful leap, twisting his body mid-air to avoid another incoming fireball, and sent a devastating kick that landed point-blank in Jeremiah’s chest.
Jeremiah’s eyes widened as the kick landed right on his diaphragm, knocking the breath out of his lungs and sending him flying dozens of meters before crashing into another building.
Ouroboros had not been idle, and every day in Knight City, it was he who took on the strongest enemies. He polished his skills more and more with the help of the A.I. Chip, developing a martial style that fully utilized his enhanced physical attributes and devilish agility.
He landed gracefully, his claws digging into the ground for traction as he propelled himself forward again. This time, he executed a spinning back kick, catching Jeremiah off guard and sending him reeling to the side. Ouroboros followed up with a series of rapid punches, each one enhanced by his Force, striking with pinpoint accuracy at Jeremiah’s weak points.
Jeremiah tried to retaliate, summoning a wall of dark flames to shield himself, but Ouroboros was relentless. He leaped over the flames, his movements a blur, and descended upon Jeremiah with a powerful overhead strike that shattered the angel’s fiery barrier.
The noble angel staggered back, desperately trying to maintain his footing. Ouroboros took advantage of the opening and closed the distance in an instant, grabbing Jeremiah by the throat with one clawed hand and lifting him off the ground.
Jeremiah struggled, his hands clawing at Ouroboros’ grip, but the Depravita of Greed’s strength was overwhelming. With a snarl, Ouroboros slammed Jeremiah into the ground, creating a crater upon impact. The force of the blow left Jeremiah dazed and unable to move.
Ouroboros didn’t waste a second. He brought his other hand down, claws extended, and slashed across Jeremiah’s chest, tearing through armor and flesh alike. Blood sprayed from the wounds, and Jeremiah let out a pained scream.
Before the angel could recover, Ouroboros lifted him once more, this time launching him into the air. Jeremiah’s body arced through the sky, and Ouroboros leaped after him, reaching him in mid-air. With a powerful spin, he delivered a roundhouse kick that sent Jeremiah crashing back down with even greater force.
Jeremiah’s body hit the ground with a bone-shattering impact, and he lay there, barely conscious. Ouroboros landed softly beside him, his fiendish form towering over the fallen angel.
"Pathetic," Ouroboros growled, his voice dripping with disdain. He reached down, grabbing Jeremiah’s head with one clawed hand.
With a savage twist, Ouroboros tore Jeremiah’s head from his shoulders, blood spraying in all directions. Without hesitation, he consumed the head, the power of Greed’s Embrace absorbing the energy held inside.
The Depravita of Greed didn’t stop there. He plunged his claws into Jeremiah’s chest, ripping out the heart and devouring it with a single bite. The heart and brain were the most vitality and energy-packed organs, and Ouroboros wasted no time in consuming them to recover his strength.
Next came the flow of Origin Force, making Ouroboros smile as he felt his power growing. He turned his eyes to the ongoing battle outside the broken town and, with renewed energy, flashed forward to join the fray once more.
