Chapter 199: Implanting new bloodlines (I)
As Vlad awoke from his rest, a rare sense of relaxation washed over him. He had always been vigilant, knowing that an unexpected crisis could demand his immediate attention. But with the emergence of the Xaos Tower, this constant vigilance was no longer a necessity, a significant shift in his world.
Vlad felt Jormungandr on his chest, but as soon as he woke up, the small yellow cat stood up and moved. Vlad smiled and turned toward the magic pool of the Xaos Tower, which now also housed the main core of the A.I. Chip Clone.
"Inform me of your actions during my sleep," Vlad ordered. Overlord connected with his A.I. Chip, and a stream of information appeared in Vlad’s mind. He became aware of the exchanges with the high-ranking members of the government and military and the latest projects.
As he reached the last of the information, Vlad noticed several buildings had been taken over, and a flash of surprise appeared in his eyes as he saw Overlord’s plans for those places. "An Alchemy and Rune Factory?"
Vlad was honestly surprised. While he and Jormungandr advanced extremely fast in those professions, that was due to the help of the A.I. Chip practically infusing knowledge into their souls. Ordinary people would take years of harsh training to take the first step into that path, so the idea of a factory seemed preposterous.
As Vlad delved into the details of Overlord’s plan, he couldn’t help but be struck by its brilliance. Instead of teaching individuals the intricate art of rune creation, a process that would take years, Overlord’s plan was to teach them to craft smaller components. It was a daring and complex mission, but if successful, it would bring about a significant transformation.
One person would focus on the energy core, another on the balance, and so on. It was a shocking mission with no small number of complications, but if it worked, it would make a significant change.
Runecrafting was a noble activity, but now ordinary people could come into play to produce several individual magic arrays that Overlord would combine into complete runes.
Admittedly, the process had multiple drawbacks, and the final product was not truly amazing. However, the sheer production rate was astonishing, and thousands of people could march waving with runes before the year ended.
And the same was going to happen with the Alchemy Factory. It was focused on quantity rather than quality, something short-sighted for a single individual, but that was exactly what a kingdom would need.
"Great!" Vlad was utterly thrilled as he considered how strong the military power of the Xaos Kingdom would become once all its soldiers, even the lowest level, were equipped with runes and magic armor.
With a broad smile, Vlad went to his laboratory and signaled Jormungandr to do the same. While they could allow Overlord to manage the bulk of the Xaos Kingdom’s military, it was up to the two of them to take care of the elite forces, the ones that would break beyond the enemies’ barriers, allowing the rest of the armies to march through.
Vlad and Jormungandr began to prepare the materials for the Runic Set of the 19 bloodline warriors. All of them already had equipment stolen from the soldiers of the Azarin Empire, and devil bloodlines ran through their bodies, but to advance to the next tier, they would need Runic Sets that could enhance them as a whole.
The young man and the small yellow cat worked for several hours until all the materials were ready. After that, Jormungandr left Vlad alone and went to his alchemy laboratory. It was time to cleanse the devil bloodlines from the spirit mark of the Legend from Hell.
Vlad used the communicator gem, and the nineteen bloodline warriors appeared after a few minutes. The group had already taken the bloodline matrix into their bodies, so they were familiar with the process of rune inscribing.
They divided into men and women and went into the rune laboratory. The process of inscribing was torturous, but once everything was over, smiles full of awe and wonder appeared on their faces since they could feel the immense boost in power that these Runic Sets would grant them.
Their battle power would rise to a level similar to the one they had when taking the Lesser Combustion Potion, but without any drawbacks, and could be used over and over again.
Vlad was also delighted with his work. Although the creation of 19 Runic Sets consumed a significant portion of his materials, it was worth it, as this group’s power would be of immense help in the upcoming battles.
After finishing with the group, Vlad rested for a few hours before going to Jormungandr’s laboratory. The small yellow cat was sleeping, and he smiled before taking the bloodlines carefully placed across the table. After that, he summoned someone else, and who appeared was none other than the massive three-meter-tall Grand Marshal of the Xaos Kingdom, Anglius.
"It is time for you to gain a bloodline," Vlad glanced at the middle-aged man and spoke with a smile. Among the devil bloodlines he obtained, one suited Grand Marshal Anglius perfectly and was one of the few Champion Tier.
Grand Marshal Anglius couldn’t help but clench his fists, and a broad smile appeared on his face. The power of the bloodline was the only tool he was lacking, and with it, not only would his battle power rise, but his cultivation speed would also increase, which was very important if he wanted to keep marching in the vanguard.
There was nothing but focus on the man as he entered the rune laboratory and took off his golden armor. Adopting a solemn expression, he made sure to keep his body absolutely rigid, not allowing even the slightest twitch.
Vlad did not waste time and deposited the bloodline into the runic pen before inscribing the bloodline matrix onto the skin of the massive giant, careful not to interfere with the Runic Set.
