Chapter 198: Overlord (V)
One by one, Overlord turned to every single person in the room, focusing on their most important tasks and providing each with a detailed plan on how to advance and proceed. He aimed to address their challenges as efficiently and effectively as possible.
As the meeting progressed, the attendees, who had arrived full of questions and defensiveness, could not look away from the old entity. Awe and wonder filled their eyes, and respect for Overlord’s intellect and strategic prowess grew with each passing moment. In less than an hour, he had addressed all the problems they were facing.
Overlord’s plans were not mere solutions; they were intricate strategies. He dissected complex problems into manageable tasks, foresaw potential obstacles, and suggested innovative methods to overcome them. His grasp of logistics, resource management, and human behavior was unmatched.
When it came to the military, Overlord’s strategies were nothing short of revolutionary. He advised the generals on troop movements, supply chain management, and fortification enhancements that could protect the soldiers from demons, angels, and monsters alike. He introduced the concept of mobile command units equipped with the latest magical advancements, allowing for rapid response to supernatural threats. The generals found themselves taking notes like eager students.
Finally, it was the turn of Chief Councilor Aloz and Grand Marshal Anglius. The duo couldn’t help but feel the pressure under the Overlord’s gaze. There was no denying the entity’s astonishing understanding of military and civil affairs and his ability to manage them with an efficiency that seemed almost supernatural.
"I will speak with Chief Councilor Alonz and Grand Marshal Anglius alone. The rest of you can leave, as your clearance does not allow you to hear what will be discussed next. From now on, I will communicate with you through your communication gems," the Overlord commanded the rest of the group, his voice imposing, making it clear it was not a suggestion but an order.
The civil and military officers glanced at the duo upon hearing this command. Overlord’s abilities were beyond amazing, but his presence exuded immense pressure, and they were worried about the duo. However, upon seeing Alonz and Anglius nod, everyone in the room left, leaving the trio.
As soon as the others left, Overlord focused on the duo with a meaningful expression. "I have analyzed every move you have made and seen your reports. You are impressive, and the solutions you find to the problems that arise might not be more intelligent than what I could come up with, but they are certainly ingenious."
Chief Councilor Aloz and Grand Marshal Anglius stared at Overlord with sharp glances, trying to understand the entity’s goal, but they didn’t have to wonder for long.
"While I will take control of all military and government matters, you will become extensions of my existence. Your positions will remain as you are considered key pieces of the Xaos Kingdom. I will work to help you improve and ensure the prosperous advancement of the kingdom," Overlord’s voice carried a tone of certainty as if the path he was offering was one that would benefit all.
Although the situation was strange, to say the least, Chief Councilor Alonz and Grand Marshal Anglius could not deny the entity’s capabilities were off the charts, and they would be fools not to take advantage of them.
A small smile appeared on Overlord’s face as he saw their reaction and began to discuss, addressing topic after topic, involving moves that would generate significant changes in the Xaos Kingdom.
The trio’s conversation lasted nearly three hours as they addressed not just problems but future strategies and plans, aiming to improve the Xaos Kingdom’s power as quickly as possible and prepare for the next big battle.
Although Vlad had not made it public, Chief Councilor Aloz and Grand Marshal Anglius knew that a new war would soon arise. There was no way the Xaos Kingdom could remain static with an empire on the other side of the border ready to kill them all.
After that enlightening conversation, Chief Councilor Aloz and Grand Marshal Anglius performed small bows toward Overlord. The duo had to admit the entity was truly formidable, and with his guidance and management, they could advance extremely fast.
Overlord nodded with a smile to the duo, yet the moment they left, and he was completely alone, that smile vanished. No other emotion replaced it—just a blank, empty void. While his behavior and manner could deceive everyone, he was merely a tool, an artificial intelligence devoid of real feelings. There was no need to expend energy faking emotions when there was nothing to gain.
As the figure of the old man dissolved, the energy returned to the flaming eye atop the tower. In the next instant, a silent burst of energy erupted, casting a colossal force field that enveloped the entire Silent Wind Military Base.
Overlord possessed all the capabilities of the A.I. Chip, including its powerful scanning force field. Since the energy at its disposal was even greater than Vlad’s, the range of the force field was significantly larger.
Thousands of people flooded into Overlord’s vision. For an ordinary mind, monitoring each individual would be impossible, but not for the A.I. Chip Clone. Such extensive surveillance would have raised ethical concerns in the old world, but those were no longer relevant.
People in the Xaos Kingdom had many rights, but privacy was not one of them. Overlord didn’t feel anything as he watched them; he monitored their movements to identify talents and determine the best way to guide them.
Less than ten minutes after Chief Councilor Aloz and Grand Marshal Anglius left the Xaos Tower, a series of commands spread across the Silent Wind Military Base. The entire base erupted into action, with large buildings being taken over and the seamless coordination of troops and resources.
Overlord’s directives were precise and unwavering, driving efficiency to its peak. Workers moved with purpose, soldiers executed drills with newfound vigor, and officers implemented strategies without question. The Silent Wind Military Base operated like a well-oiled machine under Overlord’s cold, calculating guidance.
His lack of emotion was, paradoxically, his greatest strength. Unburdened by fatigue, doubt, or hesitation, Overlord pushed the Silent Wind Military Base to new heights of organization and productivity.
Every action and movement was monitored and optimized. Overlord’s unemotional, relentless drive for perfection left an indelible mark on the base, turning it into a model of efficiency and strength.
