Chapter 171: Final clash with Orion

Chapter 171: Final clash with Orion

Vlad did not lose the opening. His body grew stronger as he channeled his rage and wounds into wrathful power. Then, he burst forward, instantly reducing the distance between them and the angel.

Orion immediately shifted her focus from the medallion into her energy pool, her left hand charging a mantle of energy around her figure, enhancing her defense as she hastily pulled back, but she was too slow.

Vlad had managed to reach her, and his blades moved with monstrous power and speed.

"AHHHH!" Orion shouted in pain as she saw in horror how everything below her right elbow was gone! Despite the horrible pain, she continued dashing away, leaving a trail of blood in her path.

Vlad only smiled as he saw the blood from the angel. While he wanted to chase after her and deliver the final blow, something else interested him even more. Without hesitation, he grabbed the severed arm and took the medallion that Orion used to control the High Champion Fire Elemental.

’This artifact is in control of the High Champion Fire Elemental’s consciousness,’ Vlad thought as he turned toward the Fire Elemental, which suddenly froze upon losing Orion’s commands. He did not hesitate before sending his energy into the medallion.

When Orion saw how Vlad tossed her severed arm aside and grabbed the medallion, utter and absolute rage filled her heart. However, a vicious and cold smile appeared upon seeing the man attempting to obtain control of the Fire Elemental.

As soon as Vlad’s energy entered the medallion, the eyes of the Fire Elemental began to glow, and it reacted with pure madness, using all its power to shatter the lightning chains. It immediately turned toward Vlad and marched forward, full of killing intent.

The angels of Heaven might be narcissistic and sadistic, but they were not fools and would not create an artifact that could so easily be turned against its rightful owner. If Orion gave control of the artifact to someone, it might be one thing, but if someone seized it by force and attempted to use it, the Fire Elemental would immediately attack the usurper.

Vlad saw how the Fire Elemental dashed after him, full of maniacal killing intent, but he only showed a calm smile as he turned around, focusing on Orion.

Orion felt utter terror in her heart as she glanced at that smile, and a sense of absolute shock assaulted her as she saw how the Fire Elemental froze five meters away from Vlad, the maniacal state of rage in its eyes fading, before standing behind the man as a faithful guard.

"How?" The angel could simply not understand what was happening or how a mere human she saw as no different from a monkey was capable of incredible and divine feats.

Vlad cared very little about Orion’s thoughts, and his smile was due to the robotic voice of the A.I. Chip echoing in his mind.

Vlad smiled as he felt control over the medallion, but a frown appeared as he felt the required demand in focus. Fighting on your own and controlling the Fire Elemental was not feasible, but luckily, he did not have to.

’A.I. Chip, seize control over the Fire Elemental and guide its attacks to support my battle style.’ As soon as that thought emerged in Vlad’s mind, the A.I. Chip came into action.

Command seized]

Orion had barely recovered from her shock when she saw how Vlad and the Fire Elemental turned their focus on her, making her instincts scream for her to run.

Of course, the duo would not wait and immediately flashed forward at full speed, Vlad’s body covered in arcs of lightning and an intense fire surrounding the elemental.

Orion immediately attempted to run away, showing no concern for the state of her soldiers. However, she was severely wounded, and her energy was in disarray, so she did not get far before the young man appeared before her.

Vlad slashed with his blades, the crimson lightning around them exploding as he put all his strength into the attack.

"Celestial Heatwave!" Orion knew she could not outrun the man, so she charged all her energy in her left hand, generating a massive shockwave carrying scorching heat that clashed head-on with Vlad.

Vlad clenched his teeth as he resisted being sent flying away and the scorching heat that crossed through his armor and burned his skin. His arm moved forward as he intended to hack toward the angel, even if it meant burning his entire body in the process.

Orion’s terror only increased as she saw the blade still descending on her. She forcefully channeled even more of her Magic into the spell. The new burst finally managed to send Vlad flying away, but the backlash of such radical use of her energy generated a fierce recoil that made her puke blood and paralyzed her body.

Unfortunately for Orion, while she managed to push Vlad away, the Fire Elemental reached her side. The woman saw with terror and horror how the creature that her family had enslaved stood before her, showing a glint of happiness in those void eyes before slapping her tiny body with its massive rocky hands.

"CRACK!"

The slap of the Fire Elemental immediately shattered the energy shield around Orion, breaking her left arm and sending her body rolling around the ground for dozens of meters.

Orion’s bloody figure only stopped rolling after clashing with a tree. There was nothing but terror on her face as she could no longer move her body. Her horror reached its zenith when she saw a figure covered in crimson lightning soon appear beside her.

Vlad stood in front of Orion, his eyes merciless as he stared at the angel and raised his blade.

Tears appeared in Orion’s eyes as she pleaded, "I can help...."
