Chapter 170: Overall battlefield

Vlad’s eyes narrowed as he heard the message from the A.I. Chip. Facing the Level 11 Fire Elemental while defending against Orion’s spells would have been too much, but if the angel was forced to focus on controlling the creature, things would be much easier.

Orion’s face was full of hatred and rage as she was forced to use the enslaved guardian given to her by her family. Once summoned, she lacked the ability to send the creature back into the medallion, and it required constant focus to keep control, meaning that after this fight, she would have to get rid of it.

Of course, Orion could hand over the medallion to someone else, but that would mean that person would have control over the Level 11 Fire Elemental, and what would she do if that person did not want to hand it over? Given her paranoid personality and sense of superiority, she could never allow anyone else to have more power than her.

"Kill him!" Orion shouted as she focused on the medallion, sending her energy into it and commanding it with her mind.

The towering figure wreathed in flames of the High Champion Fire Elemental unleashed a thunderous roar as it dashed toward Vlad, its speed impressive for someone so massive.

Vlad did not hesitate before flashing away. The crimson lightning around his figure burst as his rage rose, enhancing his physical power and speed. This allowed him to dodge the charge of the Fire Elemental while ensuring the A.I. Chip focused on Orion and her medallion as he figured out a plan.

"¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!"

The Fire Elemental chased like a killing machine, leaving explosions of fire where its massive fists landed, but Vlad was faster. The young man didn’t just dodge the attacks, but he also glanced at the battlefield between his soldiers and the angels.

The members of the Royal Guard were utterly dominating the right flank, as their teamwork and individual power were simply too much for the angels, especially since the infusion of Origin Force enhanced their bodies and bloodlines. As for the battle on the left flank, things were not so simple there.

The nineteen bloodline soldiers of the Xaos Kingdom had started strong, launching a ferocious assault that left many angels reeling. The initial charge had inflicted significant casualties among the angelic ranks, who were still reeling from their wounds and disorientation left by Jormungandr’s devastating High Champion Spell. Each kill fed the soldiers’ Origin Force, sustaining their relentless onslaught.

However, as the battle raged on, the angels began to rally. The initial disarray gave way to a more organized defense. The battlefield started to take on a semblance of order, with angelic Champions stepping forward to lead their troops.

In just ten minutes, the tide had shifted. The 19 bloodline soldiers, formidable as they were, found their energy reserves rapidly depleting. Their faces grew pale, their movements slower and less precise. Asking them to fight nearly 30 angels was a little too much; after all, none was above Level 5, and their bloodlines were all Mortal Tier.

Seeing this, a Champion angel on the left flank seized the moment. "Now, prepare to charge back!" he shouted, his voice carrying over the din of battle. His words reignited the spirit of the angels, who raised their weapons with renewed determination.

The bloodline soldiers of the Xaos Kingdom recognized the shift. They could see the resolve in their enemies’ eyes and knew that if the clash continued unabated, even victory would come at a devastating cost. Yet, not one of them showed fear. Their determination was rooted in their unwavering belief in their cause, forged through years of service and countless battles. Most importantly, they trusted their king, who had foreseen this very moment.

"Now!" bellowed the leader of the bloodline soldiers, a small yet muscular man wielding a sword and shield. At his command, each soldier retrieved a small vial from their waist. This was the Minor Demonic Combustion potion, a weaker version of the elixir that had allowed Amara to escape from the Strong Hammer Military Base, leaving a trail of dead angels in her wake.

The bloodline soldiers drank the potions, feeling an immediate surge of power. Their energy pools were replenished, their bodies vibrating with newfound strength. They knew the effects were temporary and that the potion’s aftermath would leave them very weak. Yet, they remained undeterred. They were ready to face the consequences, driven by the certainty that their enhanced state would enable them to defeat the angels.

"Charge!" The leader roared, his sword and shield crackling with ice energy, a power born of his devil bloodline. He surged forward, meeting the Champion angel head-on. The clash of their weapons sent a shockwave through the battlefield, signaling the renewal of the fight.

The bloodline soldiers followed their bodies, brimming with devil power. They met the angels with unmatched ferocity, their strikes fueled by the potent elixir coursing through their veins.

The bloodline soldiers and angels clashed for the second time, and the bloodshed reigned with even more intensity.

Amara was watching everything that happened on the other end of the battlefield. She had already taken a potion, and the Origin Energy she gained from the angels she killed running had helped her recover. However, her body and energy pool were still reeling from the fierce backlash of the Demonic Combustion Potion.

An annoyed expression appeared on the young woman as she attempted to tighten the grip around her dagger. She could not keep up just watching over the battlefield, yet a cold and sharp voice shut her down.

"Rest now. It is an order! I do not have the time to split my focus!" Jormguandr shouted toward the woman. He was still above her, protecting the Royal Guard, but that was far from everything he did.

While the sharp and fast drain of the High Champion Tier spell left a severe backlash, thanks to his Depravita Ritual Heritage and potions, the small yellow cat was already recovering. Right now, he was focused on replenishing his energy pool.

The small yellow cat analyzed the entire battlefield with his A.I. Chip and knew that things were going according to plan. Their chips had already analyzed every move of this battle, considering the possible trump cards Orion could have.

However, unless they wanted to suffer casualties, it was paramount that the battle finished soon, which was why the small yellow cat was so determined to recharge his energy pool.

Jormguandr’s main focus was on the battlefield around Vlad and Orion. If the Xaos King managed to take down the angelic noble, it would be a decisive turn in the battle, but it would not be easy.

----

"¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!"

Vlad continued dodging the blows of the Fire Elemental, jumping back just at the last second to avoid the blast. However, before his figure could land, the mouth of the elemental widened, and a torrent of scorching fire emerged from it.

Orion showed a cold smile as she activated the ability of the High Champion Fire Elemental and waited to see how the young man was scorched inside the flames that burned hotter than magma.

Vlad could not fly or walk in the air, but that did not mean he was out of moves. The electric charge in his body burst as he activated his Bloodline Ability, pushing him to the side at the last second, narrowly avoiding the torrent of flames.

As soon as Vlad’s feet touched the ground, his eyes no longer focused on the Fire Elemental but on Orion, and without hesitation, he flashed toward her with all he had. The woman had put distance between the two, but she was forced to remain within two hundred meters of the fight to ensure the proper control of the creature’s consciousness.

Orion’s eyes widened as she saw how Vlad seemingly ignored the elemental and blindly charged toward her.

"Hmph, be crushed!" The angel had been smart enough to always keep the creature between herself and Vlad, so the moment the man flashed forward, she extended her right hand with the medallion and focused on it.

"ROAR!" The Fire Elemental roared as it raised its massive arms, intending to crush Vlad before this one could reach Orion.

Vlad could see the arms of the Fire Elemental falling toward his figure, but he just kept pushing forward.

Orion showed a cold and poisonous smile as she pictured the figure of the young man blasted to smithereens, yet just as the Fire Elemental’s attack was going to fall, lightning chains emerged from the ground and wrapped themselves around the creature!

Vlad showed a cold smile as he saw that, but he was not surprised since his A.I. Chip had already warned him about the lightning energy coursing through the ground, and he knew the only responsible could be Jormungandr.

On the other hand, Orion was utterly shocked to see those lightning chains, only for her instincts to scream the next second.
