Chapter 164: Assassination on Strong Hammer Military Base (III)
All the men exited the runic laboratory, their faces pale from the pain that caused the procedure but also broad as they felt the power coursing through their bodies and spirits, slowly enhancing their existence.
Vlad was tired, but his eyes were sharp as he signaled the seven women to enter the runic laboratory. Despite the fatigue, his hands moved with extreme dexterity and precision. In four hours, all the women exited the laboratory, each with a bloodline matrix on their bodies.
"Accommodate to your new power and try to adapt to the innate traits they will grant you. Go back with the Royal Guards. They will train you and inform you about your next mission," Vlad instructed the group before opening access to the tower’s first floor. He then returned to his laboratory and closed the door.
Even though the Xaos King’s attitude could be considered rude, all nineteen warriors clasped their hands and performed a deep bow before leaving the underground level. Words meant very little compared to actions, and the young man had engraved power into their bodies, so what more could they ask of him?
As soon as the group left, Vlad closed the entrance to the Xaos Tower’s underground level before falling asleep. His mind finally rested, but not for long as night fell. The A.I. Chip opened his eyes, and despite being very tired, he sharpened his focus and left the Xaos Tower.
Amara had been waiting for Vlad outside the tower. The young man and woman nodded to each other before leaving the fortress and heading to the location of the demonic horde.
The duo did not take long to locate the demonic horde as it did not move much, and the Royal Guard training resumed.
"Her last time yesterday was twenty minutes and twenty seconds, but now she has already reached fifteen," Vlad’s eyes narrowed as he saw Amara’s movement through the demonic horde. It was clear that the Royal Guard had used the day not just to rest but also to polish her skills.
In the end, Amara reached sixteen minutes inside the horde before being noticed by a demonic beast. Vlad was ready to make his aura explode to give the woman a chance to run, but something impressive happened.
Before the demonic beast could signal the rest about an intruder, Amara’s dark dagger struck its brainstem, silently killing it. Of course, the death of a demonic beast alerted the rest of the horde, but by the time they started to look for the intruder, the Royal Guard had already flashed away.
Surprise appeared in Vlad’s eyes, and a radiant smile soon arose as he saw how much the young woman had improved in such a short amount of time. It was not just a change in skill but mentality, allowing her focus and composure to remain steady even in absolute danger, always searching for a way to run away.
---
Every night, Vlad and Amara continued their training, and the young woman’s ability to hide and escape from danger constantly improved. During the day, Amara would rest and improve her skills by meditating on them.
There were not enough materials for more Runic Sets. Instead of giving a few weak ones, Vlad and Jormungandr focused their resources on alchemy so they could have ample potions for the upcoming mission.
Of course, the fact he did not inscribe runes did not mean Vlad just rested. He spent his days training, making sure to improve his power. Although reaching Level 6 and becoming a Champion was not possible in such a short amount of time, he could still improve his body and energy pool.
...
Vlad stood at the base of the mountain, his eyes narrowed as he focused on the shadows moving across the demonic horde. Even for him, actively looking for the young woman, it was difficult to track her, requiring the help of the A.I. Chip to avoid losing sight of her.
After ten days of harsh training, Amara had already been able to spend an entire hour in constant movement inside the demonic horde. Her skills improved even more as the devil bloodline fully integrated with her body and spirit.
The Royal Guard’s eyes were sharp as she flashed across the demonic horde, moving gracefully through the hundreds of demons before reaching the Demon Champion. The first time she faced one of them, it took all her effort and the help of her comrades just to stand a chance, but less than three months since then, she could do much more than that.
The Demon Champion constantly looked around, trying to find the person that intruded on its horde, but could not locate her. Suddenly, its eyes widened as it felt a tap on its shoulder, but no one was around.
Confusion appeared in the demon’s eyes when it felt a new tap on the back of its head and immediately turned around, waving its claws with all its strength. Blood spread everywhere, but the one that was killed was a demonic beast.
"What is happening?" The Demon Champion roared, making its energy explode. It frantically searched for the intruder but saw nothing. The taps only increased, each on a vital organ, and terror flooded its heart as it imagined what would happen if they were more than just a small touch.
"Finish it!"
Suddenly, a voice emerged from the mountain, and the Demon Champion saw a young man standing there. That was the last thing it saw before a small dagger severed its spinal cord, instantly killing it.
Amara’s eyes were cold as she took the life of the Demon Champion, channeling the Origin Force into her body. Even as the rest of the demonic horde focused on her, there was only calmness in her sight. Her physical strength was much stronger than before. Now that the devil bloodline had fully assimilated into her body, she was confident in escaping even if all the demonic beasts attacked.
However, instead of running, the Royal Guard raised her daggers. Now that they had no leader and were no longer of use for training, it was time to kill the demonic horde.
Even though the woman was strong, the demonic beasts reacted with maniacal rage as not only was she human, but they felt the bloodline scent of their eternal enemy, the devils, in her.
Amara activated her Runic Set as soon as the demons lunged toward her. Her movements were precise, and each strike killed a demonic beast. She constantly moved around the battlefield, making sure the demons could not use their numbers and massacre them.
Vlad watched everything from a distance, a sword in his hand, ready to intervene if the woman found herself in danger, but luckily, that did not happen. If the demonic beasts had the guidance of the Champion, things might have been different, but without any sense of structure, they were too weak to defeat the Royal Guard when she used her Runic Set and the power of her bloodline.
In less than twenty minutes, all the demons were dead, each of them with a single penetrating wound on their bodies that took their lives. It would have been easier to strike blindly, but Amara used this chance to polish her killing blows.
Vlad went down the mountain and used his various space rings to collect the corpses of the demonic beasts and the Demon Champion. He stared at the woman clad in shadows and darkness and solemnly nodded. "Good job. Let’s go back."
Although the armor covered Amara’s entire body, a flash of excitement and pride appeared in her eyes as she heard those words. She performed a deep bow. "It was all thanks to your guidance and teaching."
Vlad only smiled before returning with the Royal Guard, flashing at incredible speed toward the Silent Wind Military Base. Once there, he gave one final look at Amara, his eyes glowing as the power of the A.I. Chip coursed through him.

A smile of satisfaction appeared on Vlad’s face as he saw the stats of the young woman. Not only had she reached Level 5, but thanks to the constant supply of Origin Force into her flesh and the enhancement of the devil bloodline, her body managed to break through into the Champion Tier.
Right now, Amara could clash head-on with a Level 10 angel without a bloodline, overwhelming them, and she could do much more with her assassin skills.
"In two days, the mission will begin. Rest for now and prepare yourself." Vlad’s eyes were sharp, indicating that those words were a command. The woman had been pushing herself non stop these past few days and needed to rest to be at full power for the mission.
Amara clasped her hands and bowed toward Vlad before leaving for her home. It was tempting to keep training, but her face was resolute as she would follow the advice of the Xaos King.
